Nice ... I'd like to get either one of those.
48 hours after the folks picked up the Hot Hand pinball I sold to them after a refurb, what should show up for sale but a Mata Hari in Louisiana. A few hours later it's back home. It's filthy and doesn't work but it should be recoverable.

Argosy!!!! That's a keeper!!!!
Quoted from Puffdanny:You haven't seen the back glass.he kept it in a 3 season room off the house and the temperature changes over 15 years took its toll. It needs some cleaning and adjusting since it stays on player 1 ball 1 but it flips good and I think all the switches work and score properly.
Bummer about the back glass, but the machine is fun. We bought an Argosy 3 weeks ago and it was stuck on 1 player games. I'm brand new to EMs and after watching some YouTube videos, I was able to take apart the player stepper unit in the head, clean it, and get it working again. Such a fun multi-player game!

Thank you I will start there and try to get it going myself if not I have a great tech that will have it going in no time.

BGResto has my backglass for Argosy so it will be on file for reproduction shortly. Also join the Argosy club here on Pinside!
Quoted from mitchzizzle:Just yesterday - a pretty great players cond. BATMAN DE - was very excited to pick this up yesterday in London Ontario for a reasonable price. Thanks again Michael Im going to love this machine!
Playfield is going to need attention, and somebody has already 'touched' it with a sharpie marker (Im going to do what I can!), most switches need adjusting or probably replacing, the pop bumpers need some attention, but overall Im just really really happy!
The only thing that I am now noticing is that nobody makes a playfield protector for this game!(???) I guesss I will have to take the existing playfield redraw on pinside and get a custom mylar cut for this baby? Wish me luck on that one. . .

Here is the green paint you need when you move to restore that cabinet.

Big Game is a great player.
Most satisfying shot/spinner rip in all of pinball when BIGGAME is fully spelled and the spinner is lit?
Love that LLLLLOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG and LOUD spinner chirp, then the BIGGAME saucer bonus burn-off, then the eject.
What an amazing day. Any 2-pin day is amazing, but these two??? They are both historically battling for “best pin” of all-time status...can you guess?
I’ll post actual pics on Friday when they are set up...
Thanks, Rob and Craig.

Quoted from GoRun26:I wanted to get my first pinball machine for years and I wanted this to be the one. Was finally able to make it happen! Beyond excited!

One of the best games ever produced! Congratulations!

Took some Coca Cola and aluminum foil to the metal and WOW.Unfortunately there's plenty of ball swirl I doubt will come out (looks way worse in person)but I'll do what I can this weekend and give it my first full em go through and service the stepper.Hopefully I can do my first 100% fix without my tech like a real wizard

Argosy!!!! Looking awesome! Make sure you join the Argosy thread, we need all the members we can get over there! haha.
High-Tap that transformer and snap some photos of the stepper unit so you get the springs all back where they belong! You'll be ripping the spinner in no time!
Quoted from Puffdanny:I got the tape off the lockdown bar after the pic I didn't 1/2 ass it I'm going full 3/4 ass on this one
Wait a second...."full 3/4 ass"......is that possible? Wouldn't it be "3/4 ass" or "full (4/4) ass"?
My ass <> effort ratio measurement chart is in the other room........

At this stage in life 3/4 ass is all I have

What if you are on a diet and your once full ass becomes 1/2 ass. Is that a good thing?
Quoted from GoRun26:What does one do when the trough optos fail on his first pinball 6 days after he gets it? The only option is is to get another machine. And order a new opto board.
[quoted image]
How did it fail? I helped get a NIB one going a couple weeks ago and Stern just didn’t tighten down the opto board.
Quoted from EJS:How did it fail? I helped get a NIB one going a couple weeks ago and Stern just didn’t tighten down the opto board.
The JP didn't fail. I got a STTNG last week - my first pinball machine - 2 of the emitters on the trough opto failed. I hadn't planned on getting a second machine so soon, but this one popped up and I snagged it. the JP is working great!
Quoted from EJS:and Stern just didn’t tighten down the opto board.
I have worked on a couple of assembly lines. All kinds of things can happen for an oversight like this to crop up. Inspection should have caught it, but sometimes inspection drops the ball, too.

Well worth it! Looks great.
very excited to have this in the gameroom, probably the prettiest game i've ever owned, this thing plays FAST and this thing plays FURIOUS, all out of space now so this is the last of 3 games I can have down there and I cannot be anymore satisfied.
DIE COMRADE!

Still one of the fastest games I've played! I wouldn't mind scoring another one some day!

nice.I like that you have space to see side art as well.

Nice game. Kinda cringy to see it stood up in the bed, but to each his own
Quoted from locksmith:Great score. One of the best classics. Playfield looks nice. Congrats.
Thanks! Love this game. Played it a lot as a kid. Getaway, Funhouse, Diner, Party Zone. Great era.
Playfield is a Diamond Plated version, not sure when it was swapped out. Most recent owner had it for 8 years and it came to him that way. It's real nice and has very few areas I've seen of concern.
I'm about to create a new thread for it as there are a couple things not quite right... some electrical oddities I'm hoping others can give me some ideas on.

Must of been even cringier standing up in fright and changing from 18 wheeler to 18 wheeler at each hub! But it’s in one piece and playing fine.
I bet you lay all your pins down must be a Jersey thing glad I left that state 34 years ago!!!
