Nice looking game. That was also my first game (and also my only game) for almost 20 years. It's a lot of fun.

Nice! It was our first pin and it got us hooked!

First pin I ever played was Meteor, which they had in a game room of the local volunteer firehouse (dad was a fireman).
The second and one with the most memories is High Speed. In a tiny shore town of Midway Beach in NJ a little grocery store name Sal & Annie's had one. We'd get quarters and walk over and play as long as we could, trying to run the red light. High Speed is the best.
The price was right so I had to bring home this little guy. The owner recalls his father buying it for the kids back around 1980. Over the years as the kids grew up and moved out, it became a "storage table". The inside is immaculate. I'm not sure if I'll keep it very long but I am committed to getting it looking and playing as best I can.
I assume finding a replacement center plastic will be next to impossible. Also need to figure out what to do with the cracked yellow plastic disc on the top.
Three times a charm.
Owned the LE twice. Nice to have the full size back box/backglass. First generation cabinet is still the best IMO. But there’s no doubt the Mylar of the gen 3 has preserved the playfield nicely. And the hinged backglass is really handy. No water damage the the MDF sides although they are faded. New decals will be added for sure. Excited to get this up and running.

Nice pickup. I LOVE EBD -- such a great classic game. I'm working on an 81 EBD hardtop right now.
I'm partial to the 81 cabinet but the 84 lamp boards are so awesome. I ended up replacing *all* of the lamp sockets on my 81 because the originals are absolutely horrible.
Quoted from Blake:New decals will be added for sure
Great pickup - I actually prefer the '84 cabinet vs. the '81 if only for the hinged backglass. When I restored my '84, I searched high and low for a decal set...no one is producing them that I could find at the time (last year). I'm not talented enough to make my own, so I wound up putting the '81 stencil on when I repainted my '84 cabinet.

I’m wondering why PinballPimp hasn’t made the ‘84 ebd stencils yet

Wow. I posted I am looking for a starship playfield or coupe others like Vegas and you land 2 machines!

Yea I'm pretty pumped to go through this one as its the cleanest PF that I have seen on a EBD. Backglass is mint too. There are certainly some benefits to the 84' machine. Have you made posts on your 81'?

I can't agree enough about the hinged backglass. Really makes things easy. Boy that stencil really works well with the 3rd gen and its all black front. Very nicely done. I haven't started looking for replacement decals yet but hope someone steps to the plate and produces them. People seem to not like the "good guy" cowboy as much but after seeing a non faded example I like it alot. Colors pop too. Thanks for sharing.

Good question. I'll be checking on things in the coming months and report what I find.

I like the "mean" cowboy as well. If you're artistically inclined, or know someone who is, you could airbrush it like this guy did on his '84....color really makes it pop.

I really only have room for one in the basement right now and I feel like opening and playing one, if you were me which one would you go for? GNR or RM?
Thanks
I don’t know, Mo. But how do you work this tricky lock on your garage? Asking for a friend.

Dig out a quarter and you can flip for your choice. Heads is GNR. Tails is RM.

It will be Heads

Couldnt find a quarter so I tossed a dollar bill in the air, reminded me of being at a gentlemens club, tails.. RM it is. Well that was easy I guess.

Quickly coming up on twenty thousand posts in this thread.
Is this the most highly trafficked thread?

Not sure but I think it’s the happiest thread.

Stern NFL owners club thread has 30k posts? I didn’t realize how popular that game is!
This forum has 20K posts. If you pick something up from this forum, you post it in this forum the same day. That’s a pinball two for one.

Not bad for a thread dedicated to a franchise that should be defunded.
This thread requires the lifting of a 2 to 3 hundred pound object.
The NFL thread requires only arm chair quarterbacking.
By anyone’s math, we still win.

Just on the main EBD thread. It's been... interesting/a total nightmare. I've got at least a few more days on the clearcoat curing in my garage. I still need to stencil the cab but my goal is to have it back like this in the next few months.

Not a pickup day for me, but finally meeting up to deliver the Cactus Jack's I have listed. Didn't want to sell but it was necessary to keep the metallica premium I picked up as well as the bksor premium that's arriving in a month or two. Gotta do what you gotta do, I guess!

CJ is a really fun game.
Quoted from gliebig:CJ is a really fun game.
I'm sad to see it go but I had to make up the difference somehow in order to make bksor a reality. I intend to buy another CJ someday but I want a cherry one next time.
I have no idea how I'll feel about bksor when it's here as I've never even played the game but I miss my bk2k a ton (sold that to buy WCS, which I'm totally okay with as that's a forever keeper for me). I'm hoping I love that one when it's here but if not, I'll have a huge chip to use for something else. I'm tired. Lol

This is one of my favorite threads. I can't own them all and dont get to post here as often as I want but I get to enjoy someone's excitement and also feel like another pin is going to a good home.
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:The bittersweet reality of the hobby (for most of us): can't keep em all. And with that my most recent sale goes right back on my wishlist, hopefully in a few years down the road.

I know that feeling. I keep most of my money tied up in pins, so when I need cash for anything important I have to let something go. Many I regret selling, but I’m also so lucky to own any at all. Thanks for your post.

I'm pretty fickle sometimes so I have bought and sold a lot (25 total in two years, lmao yikes) since I started in this hobby in 2019. I've settled on a comfortable lineup of 7 and like you said..I feel lucky to have any at all, let alone some of the cool titles I've managed to get. I'm glad we have community support on pinside to share the experience. It might not be nearly as fun if I were limited to just my own small world in Topeka, KS.
You've got an impressive collection with some real gems!
Quoted from Jecco74:STI delivered 3 for me. Not a fan of the on legs delivery. No problems yet. Super excited to get them unwrapped.
