perfect car for that haul

A big friggin dually would probably be better, but alas I have a long bed tacoma instead. It works, although I do have some concerns about potentially transporting this longer distance (yes, with legs off and with the head either strapped or pulled, if possible) when I'm done fixing it up.

I finally got my first NIB pinball. My little dude is absolutely in love with it. Avengers is his absolute favourite theme.

CP is a fun game. A whole lot packed into a reasonably priced machine.
One of the few I miss.

Some of these other DE pins sort of look like Robocop with 4 SU targets on the left, 3 SU targets in the middle and one SU target on the right. Am I seeing this correctly?

Also, does your Checkpoint have that small bounce spring in front of the lower pop as Robocop does?

Thanks

EDIT: I just took a look at your collection (nice) and your wish list. I see you have a BTTF listed in your wish list. I have been able to play one of those. It was quarter night at the local arcade before the virus hit. I fed it a coupler quarters. My thoughts are that you should not waste your time.

Had to smash my wife in the backseat, but came home with a No Fear! Had never played one before, but it’s a fun, fast game! She only had to ride cramped in the back for about an hour and a half. No big deal, right?

Great pin enjoy. It’s fast and in your face that’s for sure. I bought a Houdini the other month in the same boat as I had never played it before. Lot of fun doing it that way. Skull is a blast and his voice never gets old. Great pic and your wife is a trooper for helping out.

Drop targets on Checkpoint, only 2 SU in the whole game actually. The "bash toy" on the lower right and a single traditional at the top right. Not even sure I have tagged that one yet.

I did not notice any bounce springs near the poppers.

BTTF is on the list but more just being through than any real interest in picking up. The last two or three DE I'm interested in picking up is Star Wars, Simpsons and maybe Batman and not to sure on that one.

Done tuning the lighting today, pouring rain so gave me something to do.

Today I picked up my next project. It's been years since I felt this excited to pick up a pin.

Why? Let me see: 6 flippers, 14 drop targets, cool unique layout, highly original ruleset, rare as hen's teeth, great theme (I don't care what you Yanks think ) and supposedly very fun to play.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is a 1982 Gottlieb Striker. A title I have never seen for sale before here in the Netherlands in 20 years of collecting.

This particular example has been used as a parts machine in a previous life. Among other things, it is missing all boards and the entire transformer panel. However, all game specific parts are there and in acceptable shape. I'm determined to bring this baby back to life.

Interestingly enough I did some digging around and Joe K. stated this was a recycled Robocop design that they liked very much but it failed to sell well for some reason (his words). After you mentioned it I realized you are exactly right, very much like Robocop with the ramp, popper and target location with the majority being drop targets vs standups.

The big difference is getting back to the upper lanes, almost impossible in Checkpoint as anything zinged into the spinner lane will pass the lane entrance and land in the VUK 85% of the time and back to the left flipper you go.

Free is awesome, but I really like Spy Hunter either way. Quirky cool looking game with unique layout, and cooler if you played the sit down arcade version growing up. Music takes you right back.

I had a pretty nice one a few years ago. Miss it. I would definitely recommend putting chrome T molding on the backbox. Makes it look much sharper.

With the help from a few pinsiders, I was able to bring this Spanish Eyes home yesterday.
I could’ve bought a topper for my AIQ, but I thought I would save $50 and get a whole pinball machine instead.

I officially have too many pins. Have to move some to my office or sell. Or buy the wife a bigger house. Pinball is addicting!

Been there, done that. I have a 1280 square foot townhouse with 8 pins in the game room, 1 in the office and another one on order to put in the office. Then I'll be maxed out unless I start getting rid of furniture (which I have begun to consider). It is definitely addicting, but oh so much fun!!! Congratulations on your collection.

#18646 3 years ago
Quoted from Charlemagne1987:

Then I'll be maxed out unless I start getting rid of furniture (which I have begun to consider).

If you are a bachelor then go for it. I thought I was being weird for even thinking about getting rid of furniture. Then I got rid of the bedroom furniture, filled the bedroom with pins and have never regretted it. My dining table is usually stacked up with pin stuff. So I eat at the computer desk.

I don't entertain much at all. But I have made some pin friends and have them over. No one cares about anything other than playing the pins. Now, if you a married you have read too far already

I love what you’ve done with your place and I fully agree with and support your philosophy. I am, however, married. She’s begun to push back on the pinball acquisitions, but she likes playing them too. And GNR is her favorite band so I was able to get her to agree to my GNR LE on order. After that...well...I might have to get real creative if I want to add another pin to the collection.
