Wait...something seems fishy here.

Good afternoon ladies

#18402 3 years ago

Well, I suppose I should run downstairs now and snap 5 pics of my FT topper

What's the daily bag limit on fish ?

Quoted from locksmith:

Picked up a mint Sopranos and Namco 2004Donkey Kong / Mario 60 in 1 cabaret. Hurting some from the 90 degree jerk off basement steps which make the move painful. But they’re up and running which eases the pain. Will be selling the Video game if anyone is interested. [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Ok, I'll bite (pun intended). What are you asking for the video game?

Picked up, cleaned steppers to get it working. Definitely a player’s machine, but lots of fun with twenty drop targets.

She has about 157,000 plays.

I just got back from Pittsburgh. yes PAPA. this is my list
Apollo 13
Austin Powers
Captain Fantastic
Dracula
Evil Knivel
Firepower
Fishtails
Flash
Gorgar
Scared Stiff
Seawitch
The machine Bride of Pinbot
Elvira

Arcade games
Missile Command
Crazy Climber
Ms Pacman
Time Pilot 84
Congo Bongo

it was a lot of work and happy to get some pieces of pinball history.
Some of them even have the papa logo insert near the rule card. I will post some playfield images of my haul at a later date. Now the task of getting them down stairs.

A Huge Thanks to Doug and Fred From Papa. And a Huge thank you to my friend Fred Metz for making the trip and helping. (He got The Congo Bongo and Time Pilot 84 to add to his collection)

Congrats on the haul, I am still saddened by the whole situation with PAPA having to close. I watched a couple of PAPA Bowen videos yesterday on Youtube and had that thought of them not being around anymore. I will miss everything they did
(Thank you PAPA for everything-you will be missed)

Wow that's a serious haul - awesome collection right there. How many machines did PAPA have? Did PAPA auction them off or private sale?

3.5 hours each way to get my 6th Superpin in my 2016 Ford Edge. Thank you Captive_Ball for the ride along. Just waiting for the rain to stop to unload it. Great pick up, did you make those handles?

#18415 3 years ago

Those handles look great - wouldn't mind getting a set of those myself!

#18416 3 years ago

I would also be interested in acquiring a set of said handles.

On the thread about them liquidating there was a link to the games for sale and their price. I think there are some left but over 2/3rds are already gone.

Prices were actually decent.

I think you could take a pair of old legs to the weld shop and have a pair made up. Those look real handy.

Been a while since anything made it downstairs.

Here's what it looks like when you're in a hurry to install a drink holder you 3D printed yourself.

Once that was straightened out, here's the current "modern" lineup:

You gotta offer some pairs of those wicked pin handles! “Peg Legs” is my suggestion! (All rights reserved, use with permission only and any unauthorized use could result in a $500 fine or 6 months with no pinball. “Peg Legs” is a registered trademark of the Pinkitten Corporation.)

Seriously, I would love a pair of those too.

OK add me to the list too. They look very functional. At least tell us a little more about them, if you made them yourself, and how well do they work (because they look like they work awesome!)

A local collector made these "pin moving handles" for me after I had repaired his TAF and TZ for reset issues. He doesn't seem interested in making more really since me had cut and welded every piece himself.

I mentioned to him that I have some older legs he can cut up to see if it speeds up his process. Maybe something will come out of that.

Not in the US but watched A LOT of PAPA videos and that is very sad indeed!

Got the wife involved today for the pickup of pin #11. A 4.5 hr drive to Stuttgart, Germany saw us get a fairly dirty and grimy Creature for a decent price! Lots of scrubbing ahead, but I'm excited to see how this one cleans up. No wear or damage anywhere and just a few electrical issues to sort out. Happy!!

We have a local company selling this kind of pinhandles

https://www.led4pin.eu/en/bee-lift.html

Guess that shipping to the US would be quite expensive

#18432 3 years ago

That is about what I was hoping my local guy was going to make. I am still happy with what I have.

#18433 3 years ago

I need a set of those handles. Looks like you could sell a run of 20-30 pretty easily. Is anyone thinking of sourcing something?

If someone has CAD drawings to share, I can ask a buddy of mine that works for an industrial steel place what it might take to produce a set (or multiple sets).

New threadworthy?

Seems like collectively we can come up with something from Home Depot that doesn’t involve cutting down old legs

#18440 3 years ago

I can't help thinking a simple short strap, with a leg bolt through a grommet at each end, would accomplish the same thing for a small fraction of the cost.

That's what I'm gonna do, at least. Thanks for the idea! Certainly safer than grasping the head hole when putting games up or down.

By all means, though, get those sexy metal ones made! So much more elegant than my cheapskate idea.

I had thought this swap wouldn’t happen due to.. you know. We had discussed it a while back, but the current situation nixed it. Or so I thought. An open air driveway exchange sent one of my Harlem Globetrotters away for a wonderful Charlie’s Angels. It’s a “winter swap”, and I’ve done quite a few of these over the years. They last anywhere from a few months to a year. I’m pretty excited for this one. This is actually the first Gottlieb System 1 that has spent any time in my house.

I play and enjoy that Catacomb every day. I am going to replace the nice play field with a CPR repro, though. And, as you know, the cabinet is too nice to restore.

That was a long trip. 3200 miles round trip. No regrets.

#18444 3 years ago

Glad you got it, After you made that trip and met you i knew it was in the best hands possible . Sorry to hear about you replacing the playfield . what will you do with it when out? Sell to a needy Catacomb owner with a blown out one.. Oh there are two types of catacomb PF's #s and letters right. you wanted the opposite of what you got right? .
