not one of the top notch classic sterns but this one is for me.

played this very game to death back when it was on location. was collecting pinball back in 1978.

the game had the operators number on it, so i called it as one of my friends was looking to buy his first pin. this was 1983.

so my friend bought the nugent we played all the time, we grew apart but reconnected a few years ago. so a few weeks ago he contacts me and asked if I was interested in buying the game.

hell yes! so even though I'm a pure em pinball guy feel this one belongs here now.

also a small note, it is an aussie built nugent.

Congrats on your Nuge! Incidentally, I grew up near Jackson, MI and knew Toby and Sasha, his kids. Played b-ball with Toby. I went to his house a couple times and Ted insisted his kids’ friends help out with chores! So I filled the Nuge’s bird feeder once. He played “Fred Bear” (minor 90s hit he had) for us on his acoustic guitar. Dude loves hunting and bows. I wasn’t into pinball yet then, or I would have asked him about it. Enjoy it!

I snagged two machines from a CL post in Northern Virginia today on the way home from vacation. They both need a lot of help. The artwork is discolored on both machines. The Charlie's Angels wiring has been spliced multiple times.

Found a decent one after 4 years of looking. Had a shorted capacitor, bad lamps PIA, bad 5101, and one faulty connection. The 50V flipper coils is just one thing that makes this game better than the first FP.

My wife’s cousin picked this up for me a couple weeks ago. He’s storing it in his garage until I get some time off and can make the drive there to pick it up. The glass was broken when he picked it up for me.

Congrats on the find! Hard to say no to any machine for the price the guy was asking. I was a little down on Sunday when the guy told me someone else got these. Now that I see your clearer photos I realize these were way past my comfort level.

I had been thinking the same thing.

BUT, it would be funny!

Little Joe is one of my favorite EMs. The game seems so easy but it's very hard to break 70K on mine. I am really shocked at how much fun it is to play.

I had never played it until I picked this one up. Looking forward to learning how exactly the dice work with scoring. Game plays, but has a couple of score real and switch issues. Shouldn’t be too hard to sort out. Was able to pick it up for $400, which I thougt was a pretty good deal. I don’t see a lot of EMs out here for sale and when you do, many are pretty rough or too expensive.
The playfield on this one is really nice. Glass has a little flaking and fade, but is pretty good as well.

Great buy! The cost is I think nobody really wants to work on them as much as the electronic ones where you just plug it in and find out.

Well now I'm curious... what are you suppose to do? I haven't had to deal with this "yet"

#17747 3 years ago

Clogged- I recommend using thick gloves, put the pieces into a large cardboard box. After that, vacuum the entire playfield, empty contents into a bag and put into the box.

Next, wad up slices of bread and dab - do not drag, onto the playfield to pick up any tiny pieces of glass shards the vacuum did not get.

If possible, remove the playfield, turn it upside down, and let gravity do its thing.

Don’t forget to remove the apron.

Good luck. At least nobody has been hurt (hopefully).

#17748 3 years ago

What Billc said. Plate glass will seriously mess you up. I'd add to vacuum the cabinet and the floor around the game once everything else is done. Last but not least, dim the lights in the room where your game is and get down on the floor with a flash light, shining it across the floor at a low angle. Any little shards remaining will sparkle. Otherwise, bare feet have a way of finding those little shards.
