Here is some Evel Knievel trivia for you:

The EM and SS backglass both have a light animation motorcycle jumping over English Double Decker buses. Evel attempted to jump 13 of these buses at Wembley Stadium in London, England on May 26, 1975. He landed short, was thrown off the bike and suffered serious injuries. He announced to the 80,000 spectators that he was finished jumping. Ever the showman, he retracted that statement a few days later and then 5 months later on October 25, successfully landed on the ramp over 14 Greyhound buses at Kings Island amusement park, north of Cincinnati, OH. This was his longest jump of his career.

Count the buses and you will find 14.

Not a pinball machine, but a pretty damn neat EM game.

SEGA Combat
Picked this up a few weeks back and just got it from my dads house yesterday.

Love the cabinet art which is a mika laminate. You play the game through a shroud and there’s a plastic tank inside. You move the turret let and righ and there’s a light in the end of the barrel that lights up like muzzle flash when you fire. Need to go through it a little, but it’s in quite nice shape.

Found a video of it on YouTube.

That's awesome Coindork. Seems in great shape, too. Is there a non-pinball EM thread here? Not that I want to own any, I'm already almost out of room, just want to relive some of those dusty old memories.

Used to keep up in here pretty well, but it's been ~10 months and 3000+ posts since I visited this thread! My daughter helped me pick up a game 2 days ago, so it was a nice experience to have her along. First pic she snapped in the borrowed van. Second pic is the pin installed at home.

Quoted from Happy81724:

I got this last week and installed the new code in last night. It’s my first NIB LE and I love it. If you get a chance to play an Le or Prem I would highly recommend it. Try normal mode, co-op mode and shredders wizard mode. All are a blast
I haven’t played a pro but I bet it’s awesome too

Awesome LE! Turtle power!

Beautiful. Welcome to the hobby. The more you get, the more you want. It’s so addicting.

Yes, the second one can come quick - in my poll, how long after your first pin before you got your second, over half of responding pinsiders say within the first six months:

I remember playing this back in the late 70's/early 80's at a mini golf arcade in Phoenix....great game! Nice pick up!

Agreed. 2 years and 4 months after my first pin, I'm now at 7! Out of room, so one will have to go if I come across another must-have.

4 months for #2

2 more months for #3.

6 months more for #4.

I lost track of time with #5 #6 and #7.

#8 is being built from scratch.

I know which ones I want. I'll be at 10 when I am done.

All of the furniture in the house has been downsized or gone.

This is my second go at this hobby. Just under a year to get up to 6, of which 2 were NIB. No longer being married to someone who hates pinball helps. Having a gf that’s more addicted to pins than I am is friggin awesome lol..

A few weeks ago she was exposed to my first “sell 1 to get 1 in” and she don’t like it. Adding is ok. Removing is not. Although she is totally in love with the latest addition (WOZ).

This one needs a little work and I’m not really into arcades much, but it’s one I’ve looked for.

It’s really hard picking these things up and putting them right into storage. My urge to tinker is overwhelming.

Genesis Just got this today. Needs a good cleaning and rubbers. I will take more pictures when I clean it and get it looking good. No wear on playfield and a solid cabinet.

You picked an awesome game to be your first. Brian Eddy’s pins from the 90’s are legendary. We just got The Shadow back and we love it. WOZ was our first game and we made it 14 months before we got our second - GB. Then SM 6 weeks later, and we were off and running. It’s been a great ride.

The virus looks like it has been good for Stern. There sure are a lot of 1st time pin buyers coming in with these new pins.

#16975 3 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

That among other things.
Themes like Teanage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a genre that’s heavily collected already and is sure to bring in some new blood. Same can be said for themes like Star Wars, Rick and Morty and a few others.
Themes like Black Knight I do t think so much because it doesn’t appeal to people outside of Pinball. I.E. no nostalgia (unless you’re a Pinball person).

There’s a lot of new blood and first time buyers in the club threads for the before mentioned pins that have an outside draw.

Congrats. System 80B. You are missing a left upper flipper bat above the left slingshot, which is now marked off like a dead body. I'm actually in the process of repairing one for a local Pinsider.

Loaded up fishtales this morning and went and swapped it for a pin I've been hunting around the 306 for last 2.5 years. Haven't played one physically since the mid 90s. Super excited to get it set up.
