I was blown away when I learned I had the opportunity to bring this game home this weekend. . .

The trip back did not take long at all -- probably due to a tailwind.

5J5A4546 (resized).JPG5J5A4546 (resized).JPG

It was hot out this weekend (mid 90s) and I have to say Whirlwind's topper was welcomed after hauling/moving/setting the game up!

My first post and first pinball machine ever![quoted image][quoted image]

Earthshaker machines tend to be lonely and depressed without a Whirlwind close by.

It’s like pun central around here anymore. Hahaha.

And you didn’t even put on a generic Williams t-shirt to pick it up?

Maybe I did. . . I'm not at Colson status in the photogenic department so I leave myself out of the pics.

Whirlwind was my first game and started my addiction in the hobby. 25 years and 20+ machines later - I still have it. Enjoy!!

Well I brought home an Afmle on Saturday and I got as far as I could with having a friend come over. Then I thought hey why not take it apart and take it downstairs in pieces. So it took a little longer but better than phoning a friend. Way easier taking one of these apart than a Data East!!

Here are some pics finally. For whatever reason someone painted 3/4 of the face frame of the head black but nothing else. I don’t think it actually looks too bad. Overall the cabinet is in pretty good shape.

Target Alpha pure drop heaven.

#16932 3 years ago
Quoted from Buckaroo:

Picked a cool title today. A Bally Black Rose. The game came with a little dust on the head but who cleans the top of the head anyway? No legs so a couple of milk crates will work just fine. No playfield glass to get in your way if you ever need to get a stuck ball out. Yep the playfield has a little more dust, maybe the glass is a good idea? Add that to the shopping list. Heck a little wax and this baby will shine right up. As far as mods i think the only one is the three different flippers. The game will play better with this mod. The display did light up when plugged in and went into factory reset mode. Should be just a fuse. Oh well, when will I learn.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

That is a really cool looking game. Does that cannon in the center turn?

I got this last week and installed the new code in last night. It’s my first NIB LE and I love it. If you get a chance to play an Le or Prem I would highly recommend it. Try normal mode, co-op mode and shredders wizard mode. All are a blast

I haven’t played a pro but I bet it’s awesome too

A minty Golden Strike, a minty Jungle Queen, and a project Duotron with a very nice backglass. A good day to sneak away from work...

Finally picked up another IJ, should have never sold the last one.

Same owner for the last 19 years.
Needs a really good cleaning, a few things fixed.
It should clean up real nice.
Playfield is in great shape.

Looking for Lior mods for it, if someone is selling them.

Nice! I assume you either don't use that closet or don't have anything in there you use very often. I tried to block a closet with my pins and the wife threw a conniption.

Here's more on the Evel Knievel I picked up yesterday. The playfield is good, will only need a few minor touchups. The backglass is perfect. The cabinet is kinda ugly, flaking paint on the front and one side, but I really don't want to paint it. Just gonna play it.

Before I went to look at it the seller (the son was selling for his father) said it didn't work. No lights or anything. No corrosion on any of the boards, but it had been sitting for many years and I didn't want to power it on without doing some basic work (caps on the SDB, etc.). So I disconnected the headbox, removed the legs, and stood the cabinet on end. Getting ready to load into my vehicle the seller (owner's son) says "Hey, what's this?" pointing the switch on the bottom of the cabinet. I say "that's the on-off switch". You should have seen the look on his face. He says "why didn't dad tell me about that? Maybe it worked after all."

Already started stripping it apart for cleaning. Put the MPU on the bench and powered it up. Gets 7 flashes! Made my day.

He’s home!
Backstory: I have a friend who owns a moving company and he keeps on referring me when someone has a pin they don’t want, can’t move and are about to abandon.
...½ mile from my house.
It makes me think, just how many frick’n games are in my hometown?
It took all of 30 minutes to disconnect, break down and load up in the car.
I said to my (Austin Powers fan) son, “dude, that wasn’t so bad”
His reply, “we shag’d that game rot’n!
