Quoted from Pinkitten:No receipt from the sale, but all evidence suggests possibly HUO.
As clean as it looks that's probably accurate, congrats and enjoy it!

That’s a beautiful Black Rose. I think it’s worthy of a pinkitten drink holder.

Your trip sounds like some of mine! I made a 3000 mile trip to Phoenix and back last year to get a Lexy. I had to buy a new set a tires on the way and encountered a freak ice storm in New Mexico on the return. The Pinball was well wrapped and stayed nice and dry.

Wow and here I thought I had the fever but next to you guys I'm just a bystander!
Quoted from RWH:Wow and here I thought I had the fever but next to you guys I'm just a bystander!
Same here, I thought driving 300+ miles round trip was intense...talk about dedicated!
Although, I suppose if it was all for the right machine/deal, I'd make a drive like that.

Was that the one off FB? Killer deal if so!
Quoted from grantopia:Was that the one off FB? Killer deal if so!
Not sure if he posted this one on FB. This was the one listed here about 3-4 weeks ago from MD. It’s a beauty.
Quoted from gdonovan:Truer words have not been spoken.
Been dry for weeks, months and then an avalanche of pins in a few weeks.
Quoted from Skyemont:I can not lie so please no one take this personally. COVID-19 has been good to me.
Quoted from the96stang:I agree. I've bought 102 pinball machines this year about 60 since march
As you all have been chasing pins across the country, did you get any indications that these were "distress" sales from some who may have fallen on hard times?
Quoted from cottonm4:As you all have been chasing pins across the country, did you get any indications that these were "distress" sales from some who may have fallen on hard times?
Negative, more of them were im finally cleaning out this garage, attic, basement and this needs to go.

Not once in my case.
Edit: Maybe one and indirectly. It was sitting in a closed bar not making money and the owner sold it off.

Great question. I can’t speak for the others but got myself, no. I did not get the impression any of my pickups were due to COVID-19, hard times, lost jobs, etc. More like they don’t play them any longer. Kids are out of the house now.

Thank you. Sales pretty much as normal. If pin prices were going to collapse, March and April would have been the perfect time for a sell off.
I’ll stay with my theory that people are looking for things that can be done at home. If you are living by your self, pinball cannot be beat.
Ive been after early SS.games since Covid hit. Nothing too financially draining and usually in need of time and love (which i had an abundance to give)
Nkw im working stupid hours and have projects at home with no time to work on them. I guess i have Winter projects now as well lol.

Look out that you don't turn into a pinball hoarder
Not a game i brought home but here is where ive decided to post this.
I live on the main floor of a duplex. Every time i get home i look up at this window of the people living upstairs and cry a little inside for that poor neglected Black Hole with all the plants on it. Ive played it. It works. Just need flipper rebuilds in the lower playfield. It just needs a lot of love and to not sit in the sun with plants on it all day lol. Poor Gottlieb. Ive joked to them about selling to me but they like it as a plant shelf.

Money talks!
Quoted from freddy:Money talks!
Not when it was gifted to them. They have owners guilt. They dont feel like they can ever sell it now. It never get used. Very sad
Oh ive offered. They just dont care. They had no idea there was a multiball because the lower flipper cant hit the lock. They are moving next month nkw though.
I may have mentioned how they probably wouldnt want to have to move it again
Quoted from RonSS:I'd bet a number with 4 digits would change their mind.
I capped my offer at $2,500. Its still a Gottlieb lol

Offer to give them cash and they can donate it to their favorite charity.

I know of a game like this. It’s at my wife’s friends cabin. It was given to their son when he was younger, it never gets played. I have offered to buy it several times but the family won’t sell it. It’s in need of repair and cleaning, I have offered to do both but they haven’t even taken me up on that.

This is a potential Forum topic on its own. My dad's friend has a (somewhat rare) game that he bought to entertain his grandkids and it collects dust in his basement. He doesn't know how to play it, what a skill shot is... I played a meh game and it was making sounds he'd never heard before. Got a multiball and he thought it was broken. Still, he won't even consider selling it. The good news is that it's in great condition.

Upper floor of duplex + sheer weight of game + not knowing how to take it apart, they may rethink that decision.
On the bright side.... if they do take it with them, you won’t have to look at it every day anymore.
Quoted from dothedoo:Upper floor of duplex + sheer weight of game + not knowing how to take it apart, they may rethink that decision.
anymore.
One can hope. They are a very young hipster type couple and it was delivered and set up for them when they got it a couple year back. I know because i saw it being delivered and then got a call about a week later asking how to turn on. They only turn it on for parties. Not to be played mind you but to be an expensive lamp/conversation piece.
Not all pinball machine are adopting into loving homes.

Hard for me to fathom someone owning a perfectly functioning pin and only using it as a plant stand or decoration piece. Maybe you could trade them another pin for it or an arcade game?????

Build the fuckers a high end plant stand for an even Steven swap. damn, I bet dirkdiggler will build it for them!
Won't be bringing anything home for a while... My company is furloughing 45% of it's workforce on October 1st pending no CARES 2 act. That's roughly 38000 US workers... This is just the beginning... I wouldn't be spending anything right now in this crazy climate

When they get ready to move that boat anchor and then load it back up to move, they may remember the money offer and change their mind.

An exciting day when a pinball machine is delivered. Even better when it's two! Also didn't do it purposely, but they have been delivered on today, July 8th and it's my birthday!
Can you all guess what machines are they?

did you ship those STI on pallets like that? I did that 1 time and it was disaster. I always ship on legs now.
Quoted from Mikespinball:You are both correct. Only unboxed CC and it looks amazing and brand new!
Happy Bday...enjoy those pins! That CC does look real nice. I miss my MB.

0c4c83b1c6c8ec4668836140e74f66e6 (resized).jpgHey thanks everyone for the birthday wishes especially from Dee Bow, but I like girls better. It has been a get one so far. I owned these two machines in the past and had to sell them off to pay for the kitchen cabinets back in 2016. So happy to buy them back from the same seller, now also in better shape then the one's I sold.
Yes, they were shipped STI on pallets. Came in excellent shape. No damage.
Attached a few more pictures.
Quoted from EasternBloc:3 pierogi joints tried
How were they? I love handmade perogies. Everytime I go to the fair I find this Ukrainian lady who makes momemade cabbage rolls, sausage and perogies. Used to live by a perogies restaurant that my wife and i would eat at every week before it burned down.
