I finally have something worth posting. Look at this UNICORN #Mata Hari EM I got last weekend. Surfaced at an estate sale. Serial #1097 HUO for the past 40+ years. This guy bought it for $250! Somehow he found me 800 miles away, wanting some advice on fixing it. I couldn't believe it when I learned what it was. Told him what he had and I made a BIG BIG offer. No way I was losing it. He just wanted a nice pin to play. I hired a friend to drive and make the swap. He got a huge wad of cash and a nice restored Bally Flip Flop. We both are happy. The cabinet, trim, and BG are in stellar condition. Bright colors. Super clean inside. PF needs some help but I can handle that. A few small mechanical issues but I'm an expert on EM's. Overall a beautiful, all original example of one of the rarest games ever. Never will sell so don't bother to ask! This is my crown jewel now. The search is over. I have one. Pinch me!

Congratulations on your score. It's always great when you find and purchase that one you have been looking for, exciting!
Quoted from BeaglePuss:Third one this week! This one definitely has the most staying power of the three. Looking forward to digging in tomorrow.

I love this pic because of the bubble wrap - always be sure to use the right amount of cardboard or bubble wrap to keep the head off the rails!

Unfortunately.. i was going by personal reference

Congrats! A great find and save! Now, Evel Knievel EM ...

True. Put the bubble on the rails though. Not on the glass. Creates a possible pressure point on the glass.

How about posting some more good pics on the Mata Hari EM &SS thread!! Maybe with the glass off.
Quoted from BeaglePuss:The seller just popped it on as I was loading up. Didn’t think anything of it. I generally don’t put anything on it honestly. No shrink, no cardboard, etc. Fold the head down and go nuts.
She arrived safe and sound.

Me too! Makes a bigger difference than I was expecting. Loving the game so far too

It’s a great game. I miss it...along with 10 or 20 others that have come and gone.
Good times.

Still hope to have one of these to round out my system 11 grails but the price has gotten insane on these.
Quoted from Nihonmasa:Today's rare find.
Missing the chime unit and a drop target (if anyone has some to sell pm me!) But seems otherwise ok![quoted image]
I never really thought about it, but I suppose cocktail pins are probably rare as hell in Europe?

Let's just say this one was only the 2nd one I saw "in the flesh"

Unbelievable. Really. I have seen one at sale at Christie's. That is about it.

There was one for sale on Pinside back in December: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/archive/89023. It is/was beautiful, but not the time-capsule-seemingly-untouched #1097 HUO example from that estate sale.
i had four cocktail pins, three of them working. I hated working on them - you had to stand on your head while troubleshooting the boards, and afterward I had a headache for hours. Basically gave them away at $100 each about ten years ago. I guess hindsight is 20/20.
Woo, jealous of those rare cocktails. Nice finds, guys. Eros One looks nice with green lights in the bumpers. @dee-bow, did you put those lights in yourself or did the machine come with them? If yourself, curious what brand/make of lights they are, they're a nice pale green, not too garish for an older machine.
Quoted from Tiltboss:so stoked.. titsed out bk2k .. Gophers is a rental I’ve been trying to help operators in the area by rebting games 2 to 4 weeks at a time.

It has a whopping 4 light sockets and bulbs for the backglass And the playfield has no dimples and the artwork is perfect as it is made of plastic. (woot!)

Another road trip, didn't you just complete one.
Heading north.
Trying to keep up with Colson
No guarantee of a buy this trip, have to see when I get there. Boston area.

Pull that off and you can take a break in July.
