Quoted from chad:I spy a Space Shuttle to the left of Orbitor.
The Space Shuttle is basically warehouse fresh. I’ll unwrap it once I get all the low hanging fruit done. If I start on too many games at once I wind up with partially finished stuff everywhere.
Quoted from Ceckitti:I spy a ZooKeeper behind the Orbitor...?
Yep, that’s what that is.
Quoted from kidchrisso:[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
What’s the fastest land animal?
Space Shuttle? Zookeeper?! I'm more interested in what's up with that Devil King!
Quoted from play_pinball:Space Shuttle? Zookeeper?! I'm more interested in what's up with that Devil King!
Devil King is a pretty interesting one for sure.
From what I can gather it's the first pinball machine made by Tecnoplay after they bought Zaccaria out of bankruptcy.
Some people have called this a conversion kit, but its not a conversion kit in the traditional sense as it has a dedicated cabinet.
Basically Tecnoplay wound up with left over Mystic Star play fields from the Zaccaria bankruptcy and used those to building these as a dedicated machine.
For all practical purposes it's the same game and play field as Mystic Star, however they designed their own cabinet and back glass to release it as a separate game.
Basically a Zaccaria game, which is basically a Bally game.
The back glass is a bootleg straight up rip off of the French Space Rock band Rockets and is from the cover of their album Galaxy (at least the god part).
These guys were some trippy Space Rockers.
They all shaved their heads, painted themselves silver and did stage performances as aliens (and this was back in the 70s)
Not sure yet where they got the neo futuristic city art from, but I'm sure its off something like a rock album or science fiction movie of that era or slightly earlier.
Some of the Italian and Spanish pins of this ear are notorious for blatantly using art from elsewhere.
Pretty interesting stuff, I'll take some photos of it when I get home from the office.
We're going to be switching it over from 220 this weekend and start fixing the few minor issues it has.
Hopefully when shows start happening again it will make it to a couple.
Ok, so I think this is my first time posting a “I just brought this home” pic. Here’s a Bally Sky Kings. It’s gonna be a project/gift for my pastor from his wife. He’s wanted a game for years and finally got a green light. The back glass on this thing is amazing. I can’t find a single scratch. Playfield has some light planking but from initial appearance, it might just be the topcoat. We’ll see. Looking forward to another project.

That would pair nicely with Hang Glider!

Wheweeeeee, not the handsomest if BG’s.
Quoted from skankingaround:Providing an update to my salvage yard find for next to nothing.....
It is actually starting to clean up ok (see below)
The good ->
The playfield is in what i would class as reasonable condition
GI fired up and nearly every globe works
The boards that are there look tidy as does all wiring throughout
The Bad ->
No MPU
Cabinet is in OK condition
Two score displays weren't functioning
It's going to take some hard work to get that rust off those legs unless I can find a replacement
The back of the headbox is starting to peel
Backglass may as well not be there (I've kept what I can)
I'm really in two minds what to do going forward here, at a minimum at the moment I would be up for
a) NOS Backglass
b) Alltek MPU
c) minimum two score displays
d) flipper needs work on the left
I'll admit I'm a beginner to this, I last did Fishtales and made a bit of profit from it however was experimenting as a first time around. If this was a different title then Lost World it would be an easy choice, part of me wants to take on the challenge and breathe new life into this game, part of me says I should just sell it as a project, cash in the difference and put it towards another pin.
My Plan currently > Borrow an Alltek MPU, see how the rest of the game functions and make a call from there, I'm toying with the idea of using this as half a learning experience, which means attempting a cabinet restore etc, I figure I'm in for practically nothing at the moment, If I screw it up I sell it onward as a project.
If I can't borrow an MPU then possibly buy one and look to sell as part of the project, I can't really test a whole lot more without it.
Love to hear your thoughts on my salvage yard score, Cheers

Playfield looks great except some cupping of inserts. Good candidate for a playfield protector.

I was about to comment that you have been slacking on your pin purchases.
Good lord that's an ugly backglass. How in the hell did they expect that to attract players?

Yeah, the 4-player version (Camelot) definitely got the better backglass by the design team.

I'm thinking the design team at Bally was high as a kite the day they green lit the backglass artwork!
Through word of mouth i was offered a P2K for a great price. Never thought I’d let one of those in the house lol. Needs some TLC. Still running on original hardware.

Demo Man! Love the gun handles and feel of this pin. Ramps all day. Has the swear ROMs and color DMD. Adding an alternate translite, which I like better. Moving this pin around by myself was a workout! Really enjoying this one.

First thing I did, still in slam switch mode even with C2 bypassed.
So.. fix the known broken stuff first and go from there. J6 connector pins are wrecked and the ones next to it not so hot. New interconnect harness on the way and will rebuild J6 using the good pins from the old interconnect. Have been unable to source new pins or I'd just grab 100 or so.
Quoted from newtoit:Picked up a Williams Cosmic Gunfight yesterday. Debating on whether to do a restore or just shop it out.
Congrats! Time to go all out on a restore!
Quoted from Whysnow:congrats!
great game and apparently new code is coming?!?
Wait.... new code for cosmic gunfight?!?!?

Can’t you use standard Molex .156 pins from GPE? This doesn’t use the bifurcated pins like Sys-80.
Quoted from newtoit:Wait.... new code for cosmic gunfight?!?!?
yes, confirmed as being worked on. To mainly fix the one shot competitive nature. Will turn a great game into an excellent one.
Quoted from dothedoo:Can’t you use standard Molex .156 pins from GPE? This doesn’t use the bifurcated pins like Sys-80.
Uses same edge connectors as system 80 I thought. I'll double check, you might be right.

Wow. Is there somewhere i can read about this?
Got a call at the lumberyard this morning from a customer who had ordered some windows. He asked if they were in yet, but that was an afterthought, as his primary reason for calling was to reach me directly and offer me this game.
This incredibly nice guy literally took a dumpster dive to save this 1977 Jungle Queen. He wasn't even going to ask me for money, but I insisted on giving him the $50 in cash I had on me for his time and trouble of loading it up and driving nearly an hour to my store.
IMG_20200529_115220519 (resized).jpg
Backbox was torn off (need wood glue and bracing) and wires were cut (a few inches from the plugs, of COURSE, need splicing)... but for a mostly free pin with a nearly perfect backglass, it's a small price to pay.
Quoted from newtoit:Wow. Is there somewhere i can read about this?
I am sure it will be made public once done.
I was told it is a beta and people are testing it out. That is all I know.

Can't beat that deal.

https://www.greatplainselectronics.com/products.asp?cat=77
You don't need the bifurcon style. So the ones that GPE has in stock are similar to what is currently installed for the edge connectors.
Repin everything while you are at it and make it indestructible. Yes, it can take a few hours but it will save you headaches down the road.
Maybe not the display connectors until they give you reason, but all the board connectors is recommended.
If you are buying a new MPU to driver interconnect don't throw the old harness out. The edge connector housings are harder to come by and someone could use your old connector housings.

damn u covid!! Had to bring my MET home from a local brewery ... because of new 50% seating rules they're pulling the pins out for more table space. It hasn't been home in a while and I've been wanting to do a tear down and cleaning.. so there's that i guess!

Space Time is awesome. Love the tunnel effect on that game. Looks like yours is in really good shape.
I picked one up for a fellow Pinsider locally two years ago and brought it up to Pintastic for him. I joked with him that I was seriously debating on just keeping the game myself.
