Totally worth it, return to battle soldier
Heatwave!
Great game with the original backglass thermometer that was so cool, a competitor copied it and put it in one of their games years later.
Congrats. Blow your top!

Which pin was featured in the rec room in John Carpenter’s 1982 The Thing...yep, this one!
Special day for Elvira and I. Finally found my CQ Scared Stiff, all new cab, pf, ramps, mechs. Shipped from PA. Also added a NOB EHoH from my friend, Tom in TX! They arrived on the same day, same truck! Really enjoy both for different reasons. Now for Party Monsters!

That SS looks sweet! Congrats on both grabs.

Worth it!
being a pure e.m. collector had the chance to buy this flash.
the game was sold as non working but i'm almost certain the guy didn't know how to add credits.
needs a bit of a tidy, a better backglass and a few tweaks.
brings back so many memories and want more SS pins now.

I'm pretty much 100% into add-a-ball, but a Pinball Buddy highly suggested to trade
in the Trade Winds. I've had it for quite awhile, but not yet went through it, but once I
do, I plan on having it and keeping it set up..

Tradewinds is an excellent player and well worth the effort.

That’s 3 nice looking games! All restored examples?
Quoted from firefighter:[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
There is someone that is reproducing the top arch aswell. Might be worth looking into since yours appears to have the plastic arch.

Quoted from BlueIrocGuy:It’ll need a cabinet repaint and maybe a back glass, but it’s in decent shape overall. Looking forward to getting this sorted out and running again.
I like the blue IROC in your avatar. One of my favorite cars! I had a blue 5-speed 1987 IROC with gray leather interior and smoke T-Tops for several years back in the late 80's.

Sweet. Lucky....I’ve been looking for one of those....in any condition...one of these days
Quoted from Mathazar:I like the blue IROC in your avatar. One of my favorite cars! I had a blue 5-speed 1987 IROC with gray leather interior and smoke T-Tops for several years back in the late 80's.
Thanks! I was looking for one with a 5 speed, but I ended up getting this ‘89 that had the 350. Only transmission it came with was the automatic, unfortunately. I’ve had it for 22 years now, it’s a cheap summertime fun car.
Quoted from Colsond3:That’s 3 nice looking games! All restored examples?
Yes these are all restored. I usually buy them and do my own restoration on them but this Gold strike was complete with a new playfield, backglass and many new parts. I have missed out on 2 Eldorado's but this was worth waiting for!
Quoted from BlueIrocGuy:Picked up a couple of days ago and met a cool pinsider as well! It’ll need a cabinet repaint and maybe a back glass, but it’s in nice shape overall. Looking forward to getting this sorted out and running again.
Congrats on finding a SURFSIDE...great game! Picked one up myself a few years ago and did a restore. Had to repaint my cabinet also as it had been painted all black! Restored pic attached. Get yours all working and tuned up; it's one of the best in my opinion!

20200505_114734 (resized).jpg20200505_123349 (resized).jpgBrought home an earthshaker yesterday! I've wanted one forever. Unfortunately for me when carrying it in the house my wife dropped it! The fall split the bottom corner of the backbox but with some wood glue, screws, epoxy and paint I was able to get it all fixed up. Thank god the back glass survived. It plays well so all's well that ends well.

I was gonna say..... I've never asked my wife to carry a pin!
Quoted from yzfguy:I was gonna say..... I've never asked my wife to carry a pin!
If I asked my wife to help me carry a pin into the house, she'd roll her eyes and say "if you need my help getting that inside, it's not coming inside".
I just wait for her to go out to the store and then I get my 17yr old son to help me while she's gone.
Guys I'd like to defend her honor a bit. To her credit shes helped me move 8-10 pins before including an rfm. I had no reason to believe she was gonna drop this one.....until she did. So yeah, I'll have a buddy come over from now on to help get it inside.
Quoted from DanTheGlassMan:Unfortunately for me when carrying it in the house my wife dropped it! The fall split the bottom corner of the backbox
I mean.... you did give her the heavier end.
Quoted from bssbllr:I mean.... you did give her the heavier end.
The backbox was folded down guy. That puts it nearly at the middle of the machine. Plus....shes stronger than me
Quoted from DanTheGlassMan:Thank god the back glass survived.
At least it would’ve been in the right hands if it did break. You are the glass man.
Quoted from Mathazar:she'd roll her eyes and say "if you need my help getting that inside, it's not coming inside".
That's what she said.
I'll show myself out now.

Autoglass is sadly not as fun as pinball glass

Another wife story. My game room in our last house was in the basement. To get a machine down, there were two steps up and then 10 down to the basement. I worked out a method of leaning the hand cart back far enough to work it up the first two steps. Asked the wife to help me get a Data East Star Trek down. She agreed. Trying to get the machine up the two steps (moving it back and forth) the wife had her hands on the head "helping" oops smash went her hand against the wall and the machine. We had to stop and go to the hospital. 2 hours later stitches and a lost finger nail on her pinky. I no longer ask for her help and she won't if I ever would, but she still loves me and my hobby.
Quoted from Mikespinball:2 hours later stitches and a lost finger nail on her pinky
Ouch!

My wife has helped me with machines too but her and my kids and my neighbors all would rather I take up a "lighter" hobby when the moving part is being executed... "Why don't you collect stamps or stuffed animals?" the one neighbor asked while halfway down the steps with the Simpsons
Quoted from Evilive69:Finally get to post in this thread again. Picked this up on saturday. Plays great, just need to work out the issue with the dmd.

Nice pin!!
p.s. I hope you got a discount from whoever wired the thing behind that pin!!
Our 2 new pick ups! We got Taxi at the end of March from Pinphila and the Funhouse today from @jiggly_martian.
We are so thrilled (and still kind of amazed) to have them, thank you gentlemen! I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but these 2 sellers are top notch; knowledgeable, accommodating, but more than anything, terrific people! Thanks again- See you around!
