Congrats!!! The cabinet was originally a Super Pac-Man if not aware, have fun!!!
Quoted from manadams:Congrats!!! The cabinet was originally a Super Pac-Man if not aware, have fun!!!
Yes it was and the cabinet is in pretty good shape, Romstar or the site operator did a crappy job converting this cabinet! They just slathered paint on the cabinet over the Super Pac man decals and then installed the Romstar side decals and control panel overlay, they even left all the Super Pac Man documentation inside the machine. The monitor was even half assed when they switched it from vertical to horizontal and some of the wiring harness was removed for the slam tilt and coin lamps. I'm going to sand down the cabinet, restore it with new paint and decals, rewire the coin door and convert it to a Jamma Multicade cabinet. I considered leaving it a RoboCop game but it just doesn't have much appeal, just too railed for my taste. I was rather shocked to see it power right up when I got it home, just had to adjust the focus, a little color adjustment and clean all the sticky soda spillage in the buttons.
Quoted from plowpusher:Near perfect backglass oh this one[quoted image]
Was this machine before or after Gottliebs The Games, nice score and even better to find a Gottlieb machine of that age with perfect BG!

Before the games .The games is a pretty good player as well.
Plowpusher, before playing a game take precautions now and protect the plastic over the right drop target bank. Always broken at the bottom where it mounts to a post. And if you ever happen to come up with an extra unbroken plastic please let me know. Thanks and enjoy the game, it’s one of my favorites and the game I’ve owned the longest, 10 years +/-
Quoted from Pinkitten:Congrats! I’m coming to get it in March. Take good care of it!
Your suite is ready!! Can't wait for JP
Picked up my first DMD game over the weekend. An all original Getaway that was hiding in a old converted School House not far from home. The owner messaged me on my Space Station sale ad asking if I would be interested. The guy was super cool and even gave me one of his custom King Pin license plates he had on one of his cars after he bought the game. Found some neat route history in the back of the cabinet as well. It's dirty but plays for the most part and will be a great first WPC project.

Torch is one of my favorites as well so much so that this is my second one i own now and on both games that plastic is broken . Pinsider tomtest had a topic about interest in that plastic for sale at $40 shipped so maybe he could reproduce some .
Quoted from mbaumle:Thanks! Honestly, there's just been a flurry of too-good-to-resist deals lately, and one of my resolutions (among other things) is to really hone my restoration and repair skills. If I'm gonna do something, I might as well learn how to do it properly. I'm not a sports guy, and I never watch TV, so I might as well really lean into the hobby. Also, my goal is to have a bunch of these projects cleaned up and restored (to the best of my ability), and brought to Allentown and York Show this year. I really want to start supporting the shows with meaningful, well playing games and start paying things forward. I'm starting to feel like a custodian for these games. Finding the left for dead games, giving them new life, enjoying them for a while before passing them on to other's who will hopefully enjoy them as much as I have.
yes, there are all kinds of super deals lately. I even got a NIB for $800 less than retail. I think everyone is making room for all the new game releases. I love it, been grabbing game more at the pinside average or below. Great time to buy.
My very first pinball. I got an EM from a guy 30 minutes away. She’s a little rough around the edges, but she’ll crank up and play just fine right now.

We’ve been in contact and I told him if he needed my commitment on the $40 plastic in order to go through with producing it I’d be in.

looks a new machine, great score

Awesome pin! It should do well

Hell yes enjoy it before you put it out for them to abuse.
It has been on a journey across the country almost as long and perilous as the S.S. Minnow itself, but my Gilligan's Island finally arrived today and found a nice home in between Beatles and Batman '66. Someday I'll finish that row with Munsters and Addams Family. The previous owner did a sharp job with the LEDs and little plastic palm trees gorilla taped everywhere (not to mention new island motor, switches, rubbers, etc.).

Awesome line up! Will be great finished with the other pins
Bay Watch is under rated, I think it's a great pin and fun as hell, the only thing I'd change is the BG can't look at the Hoff!

Gilligan's Island is a very underrated game! It was my first DMD game and lasted a few years in my lineup. Great game to teach newbies on, and more experienced players still have fun on it.

You need to tie some bamboo around each leg to make it "authentic"
Quoted from rmerlo88:Scored this today! She needs a bit of work but look looking forward to the challenges![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
What’s with the two royal rumbles in the background?
Quoted from rmerlo88:She needs a bit of work but look looking forward to the challenges!
This NEEDS a ColorDMD. Looks amazing!
Quoted from fisherdaman:Gilligan's Island is a very underrated game!
I think so too. Yeah, it's a single goal game with very dramatic scoring for that single goal (much like Bride of Pinbot), and if I only had space for 3 or 5 games, Gilligan wouldn't last long, if I even would've picked it up in the first place. But it's nice to have something more simple and direct in the line up, not to mention it's one of my favorite shows ever. When pinball newbies come over I can point them to Gilligan instead of watching them eat it on Dialed In or Alice Cooper or Ghostbusters.
Quoted from Max_Badazz:You need to tie some bamboo around each leg to make it "authentic"
That's a good idea! I love how this site made the wireforms "bamboo."

I agree seems like a lot going on. Need to fix the sound.

Don’t think I’ll go that far, I paid $650 AUD for this machine which equates to less than $400 USD.
It’s had some bad touch ups and scuffs and scratches all around. Playfield ramps are tarnished, but playfield under the thick dirt looks like it’ll come up good. It has no keys at all so I havnt even opened it up to see what like inside etc boards blah blah. No sound currently, set on free play and plays a game, all coils and flippers working except two side bumpers and pop bumpers.

That means you got it so cheap that a color dmd Is an easy choice for a beauty upgrade !
Picked up Liberty Bell 2 from a fellow Pinsider in Sierra Vista. Thanks! It is similar to Grand Prix except it only has one bonus instead of two. I'm hoping that it will do as well on route as Grand Prix does. It's not like I need another pin, but for the price I couldn't refuse this fun game.
Oops! Someone cut off her right ear! Just look at that backbox - very Van Gogh-like.

Not a game but something I’ve wanted for a few years . They are just so expensive new, but I got this one that had stop working for a song . I replaced a bad power supply , two broken switch’s , a power kill switch and took it completely apart and cleaned and adjusted everything . It’s working 100% and I now have fresh made cotton candy whenever I want !! Loving it stupid but delicious

Not sure what value it would hold if put back to original but if it’s negligible I’d go the 412 in 1 or SDarcade upgrade route. I’m currently in the progress of converting a Romstar Jamma (Robocop) cabinet that was originally a Super PacMan into a multicade. I have a 60 in 1 jamma board but the emulation is hit and miss on some games so I’m planning on switching to a 412 in 1 board which got better emulation reviews.
Quoted from orangegsx:No board, trying to decide what route to go with it.[quoted image]
I vote Raspberry Pi multicade. I built one. Buy some new Happ joysticks and buttons with a USB encoder from EBay and a Rasberry Pi. My SD card for the Pi has Retropie installed with over 6000 games from Etsy. You could convert that whole thing cheap.
Rough estimate :
Happ joysticks with buttons $60-ebay
Raspberry Pi 3 or 3B+ $80 ?
SD card with games installed $20-Etsy
You would have to install either a TV or arcade monitor with an HDMI setup on it though as well and that’s about $175 new on eBay. But find a used TV on Craigslist.
