jealous, been looking for one
Quoted from jrpinball:Ok. We need captions for this photo. I'll start with; "Some dummy forgot to drill finger holes in this thing!"
"Fascinating......there's a game larger than Hercules."

Those pink flamingos did NOT do a good job guarding this yarball in the neighbors yard last night... Muahaha

one of the best looking playfields ever
Quoted from FatPanda:Sorcerer in the house![quoted image][quoted image]
The one pin that will never leave our collection. The art is awesome and it fun to play.
Quoted from woody76:one of the best looking playfields ever
Thanks, it was touched up and cleared, neither of which will win an award, but the game was well maintained and plays great.
Quoted from Happy81724:The one pin that will never leave our collection. The art is awesome and it fun to play.
Even though the list of system 9's is short, I love all 3 made. The sounds from that group, for me, bring back the 80's perfectly
FLASH!!!
Ever since I got a Black Knight in Prescott, Arizona, I have been on the hunt for the other three of the 'Fantastic Four', Flash, Gorgar and Firepower. I found a Firepower here in Tucson and a Gorgar in Mesa.
Flash, what I thought would be the easiest of the four to find, eluded me - until today! I had a chance to get one in Phoenix, but the seller got all Squirrely on me. You can read about the whole sordid affair here:
The 'Fantastic Four' pinball machines, all manufactured by Williams, changed forever how pinball machines would be designed and built. Flash introduced some cool brushed aluminum ball guides by the flippers along with some awesome sound effects and light show. From IPDB: "'Flash' was the first game from any manufacturer to have a dynamic background sound during gameplay. It is also the first game from any manufacturer to use Flash Lamps, which provide a temporary burst of flashing light intended primarily for the sake of its visual effect, in contrast to the usual playfield lamps that either provide constant general illumination or turn on and off only as indicators of specific playfield objectives or their point values." It just felt like a next generation pinball machine.
#gorgar came along next and added speech to make pinball a more personal experience.
Then came the blockbuster Firepower. It introduced lane change and was the first solid state multi-ball pin. It was also the first game to have animated displays when multi-ball started.
Finally, but not lastly, Black Knight was the first solid state pinball machine with two levels and was the first pinball to use Magna-Save. A new concept, bonus ball, added a timed extra ball to the player with the highest score when two or more players played at the same time.
I will be routing these games and would love to see them all together at one location. I will be working on that.
I want to thank my Tucson Video Arcade guy for getting this Flash for me. When I was there last week picking up 8 Ball and Surfers we ended up talking about the 'Fantastic Four' and how I only needed Flash to complete the set. He said he knew where one was. I didn't want to get my hopes up after missing out on other opportunities that left me empty-handed. He texted me on the day after my birthday that he had the Flash in his shop. The pictures showed a nice looking machine and the price was more than reasonable. Included in the deal were some stencils for Flash and Supersonic, a box full of boards and a transformer. He brought the machine back from Sierra Vista for me and I picked it up today. I was stunned and shocked when I saw the condition of the playfield. It looks brand new! The drop targets even had brand new looking decals.
After such a long time waiting for Flash and a pick-upous-interruptous along the way, I couldn't be happier! Thank You Tucson Video Arcade Guy!! I told him that this is the best birthday present that I had ever gotten - and it is!!
The Fantastic Four Williams pinball machines have a very special place in my pinball heart. They were a ton of fun to play. They were also the last pins I played on location until just a few years ago. I remember each one fondly and feel honored to have all four in my collection. I am pleased and excited to be able to share these Fantastic Four with other Tucsonans awaiting to have wonderful memories of them added to their life experiences.
Someone please pinch me so I can tell that this is not a dream!
Last weekend saw an 8-hr round-trip for me to pick up a Black Hole ...my second Gottlieb! Game is in great shape, did a top-side cleaning and replaced many bad bulbs. When I showed up the game had an issue with both rear drop target banks not resetting and blowing a fuse...saved me a few hundred off the asking price. Turned out to be just a bad transistor on the A3 driver board. Just needs new rubbers and LEDs eventually.
The game has to have one of the best back glasses in pinball...right up there with Xenon. Really happy to add this to the collection!

This officially ends my run as these things are massive (thank God I found an 8BLE) and my basement can't handle anymore, but loving all of them so not mad.
Now where the heck did I leave my box of comet warm whites

Awesome row of machines there!
Quoted from jrpinball:I bet no one has this one!
It's obviously going to need a new cabinet, but otherwise not bad.
Sat outside for two years![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
jaytrem Don't you collect roller coaster themed pins?
Quoted from bluespin:jaytrem Don't you collect roller coaster themed pins?
Yup, and I'm drooling over that one even in it's current condition! Awesome find! That's one of the many coaster themed machines found on ipdb but not pinside....

Oops, I see that one is one pinside, I'm probably the one that put the amusment park and roller coaster lables on it. I think I found 6 to 10 others that weren' t on pinside.
Quoted from Ballypalooza:Figured I’d give it a try.[quoted image]
I played one recently. Kind of cool actually..

Worst part was reassembling after I brought it home. My arms were all scratched up.
Honestly think if you were a pac man fan it will keep you entertained.

Is this the one that's been on CL for a while?
Quoted from Wmsfan-GAP:Is this the one that's been on CL for a while?
Ya the one in a basement with hardbody on chicago craigs,im curious too
Yes, it the one that was with the Hardbody. I will tell you that the HB seemed to be in nice original shape. Both machines came with the house 18 years ago. Here’s a few pics. PM me if you have any questions I can answer. The guy was real cool.

Did you "professionally" remove them? I believe his ad asked that you do that...
Those have been for sale for a while and I think it's partly because he just had one picture from 20 feet away, which doesn't tell you much about the condition. Glad you got one of them and that it appeared to be in good condition.

Someone did some shopping at Ice Ice Arcade.
Quoted from Cloud7:Just picked up Magic Castle!
Damn! I knew someone would snag that quick. Congrats on that pick up. Did you beat his high score and get 50 bucks off?
