Quoted from Murphdom:

How many variations of these arcade style pins were made? I only know of one other which is Spooksville
Bally made Hi-Fi which also has a shaker but it isn’t a stand up.

Spooksville is the only other one I know of in this form factor. This Sea Hunt has been cleverly modified to work as a Free Ball machine. Specials disable the ball count in some way when you drain, so you get the same ball number to play again. Interesting but once I figure out what was done I’ll likely put it back to stock if I can do so easily.

Quoted from MikeO:

Just picked up this Atlantis yesterday. While hard to believe, no, it wasn't in a fire.
Unfortunately, no, it isn't washing off either. Story is the previous owner was a really big smoker.[quoted image]

Try the LA’s Totally Awesome cleaner at the dollar store.

#12854 4 years ago
Quoted from Murphdom:

Wow that’s dirty. What did you use to try and clean it?

All I've tried so far is a good general cleaner I use and then magic eraser with isopropyl alcohol.

I'll try mean green and the 600 grit wet sanding. Anything would be better than having to repaint this because the rest of it is quite nice.

I'm restoring my fire damaged Fire!

I use 400 grit and alloy foaming cleaner from the dollar tree, and my art is coming back , I told you 600 grit to avoid needing additional touchups, the smoke on my machine is/was very thick, the foaming cleaner is applied after a quick 2 or 3 minute sanding constantly moving, then spray the foamer on an let it soak for about 5 mins , wipe off with a rag, you'll be amazed how much Better it'll look in an hour's time

#12856 4 years ago

I’ve used a ME and mean green. I’ve also used a ME with isopropyl alcohol and I’ve had good luck. It takes a lot of elbow grease and you have to do it a bunch of times. If all else fails try sanding it. ME is just a very fine sanding sponge so it wouldn’t hurt to try something a little more course. It would save time and you wouldn’t kill yourself trying to clean it.

Finally got it home, here’s a few more pics of my brother’s Voltan pickup. Boards have some hacked up work but damn look at this playfield!

Anyone know what the numbers stamped under the coin box there are? They don’t match the serial number.

The TA and a scotchbrite pad did this much tonight. I used Mean Green for a bit of it.

The green paint is thinner than the brown and not holding up as well but I’m impressed that it is having this large an impact.

Thanks for the guidance.

Scotchbrite is rather aggressive, better off trying steel wool first or magic eraser.

Here's a couple I drug home recently.

Strikes and Spares - which I'm loving!

Evel Knievel - Just got it, so it needs cleaned badly. Some wear on bonus area but no other wear to speak of and the cabinet cleaned up very nice so far. The backglass is immaculate!

I also picked up an El Toro EM, which is completely smothered in cigarette residue. Backglass and playfield are nearly perfect. I'm cleaning it with LA's totally awesome and very light agitation from a small light brass brush which has given excellent results. No damage at all that I'm seeing. I am going to try the steel wool next. ~ and yes, I changed out some florescent lights for LEDs to get more light. Gotta dispose of those now.

The UP Pinball Collective took a long road trip this weekend, making the 1989 cocktail game "Night Moves" my girlfriend's first pin.

Three days before the trip, a fellow Pinsider who lived less than half an hour from our destination contacted me to offer his Riverboat Gambler.

The timing was too perfect. How could I say no?

What size enclosed trailer is that?

#12873 4 years ago

6x8, I believe. The second smallest one available from my local U-Haul rental yard.

#12874 4 years ago

If you rent a 6x8 trailer from uhaul bring a tape measure to measure the inside width of the trailer. They have two interior sizes that are very close to each other; the larger one can fit two pins wide for a total of six (?) pins on their backs folded up. The other only holds one pin wide and three deep for a total of three pins. A uhaul employee told me that they originally listed the two trailers seperately on their site but combined them into one listing

Out with the old, and in with the new.

Bought my Star Wars pro off route, fixed minor problems, cleaned, waxed, added new titan rubbers, shaker, slide brackets, inner blades, and played the heck out of it for 4 months (and volunteered it for a show). I was able to sell it for a fair price, and upgrade to a low play, stock LE + shaker. My LE is 440, which I like because I'm a musician. It's the frequency of concert A, used for tuning orchestras (pianos, etc).

I'm one of those guys that loves this game.

Pulled these out of a basement tonight along with a Flipper Pool that my buddy took. Not bad for $300 bucks each working! Harlem will get cleaned up and stay, King of Diamonds will be up for sale soon.

Thanks! I love the surprising difficulty of FT. The rules are awesome, and these are getting harder to find in nice, original condition. In about a week I should have my new Dirty Harry too!

I picked this up from a great seller and Pinsider, Mesa Pinball Guy. I don't know what to do with myself - this game is supposed to be working! It came with the plastics, not shown, and an overlay. With any luck, this will go out on route next week.

This is the one of three pins that used leftover Bally Rapid Fire backboxes. I own a Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man, so all I need is Centaur II to have the set.

I wasn't really interested in this title, but thought it would do well on route based on the popularity of it here on Pinside.

The nice seller also had some old EM parts that needed a new home.

Thanks Mesa Pinball Guy!!

Any progress on the robowar bluespin?I'm so jealous.

It turns out that the connector to the display was loose. It’s working 100% now. The previous owners, a nice retired couple, put up a six million high score, and 2nd-4th places were in the five millions. Ugh. Now I have to work off their initials!
