Quoted from lowbeau67:

Crazy 23 hour roundtrip to new jersey and back with 4 hours of sleep in the middle to get a sweet black knight from an awesome pinsider rvalkenburg. My pops 75 years old was my wingman and kept me laughing and alert the entire way. Great zany memory for me and him. Black knight is an iconic pin for me and was definitely worth the trip.[quoted image][quoted image]

My father would ride along on many pin purchases, he passed two years ago and now I use his mini van for picking up pinball's. Kinda feels like he riding along. Enjoy every moment to can with him.

My dad and I just drove a 14hr round trip for a “project” Fire! game about 3 weeks ago that I won site unseen in an auction (just pics and little info). Definitely identify with how great it is having road trips like that.

#12603 4 years ago

Wow, you KY folks don't mind a long drive!

#12604 4 years ago

Wow, that is one serious Pinball trip! Glad you and your dad can do this together.

That’s cause it’s hard to find pinball machine down here with no shoes or electricity lol. I kid of course but I am the only pinball collector I know of in about an hour plus radius of my location

And not being busy marrying our cousins, making moonshine, and finding our lost front teeth...don't worry, I'm from KY too, and have heard them all!

Anyone in Kentucky want to buy my KoD? I'm near Philly

Funny thing... I’ll be putting mine up for sale soon. Selling from KY to help pay for a new set of shoes. haha

jmountjoy111 We are planning to move back the Louisville/ FT Knox area. Currently I'm in CO where there is no humidity. Is there any special considerations for the machines in a humid climate?

Humidity really isn’t particularly bad in KY. Certainly nothing to worry about your games. Btw, when you make it to the Louisville area, you have to check out Recbar. They have about 80-90 pins, all decently maintained. I make the hour trip from Lexington on occasion. Well worth it.

Got this a few weeks ago but too busy to post. 9 games on original code. My distributor had to get me a new game card as game would not upload via USB. Loving it. Just finished fitting Titans and a few gold accents. Had the topper before the game arrived

Congrats!

Picked this up yesterday with a fellow Pinsider. The price was right and the labor free.

No glass, or keys.
Backglass looks great.
I think the cab will clean up nicely.
Playfield is what it is, but some cleaning and a coat of wax wouldn't hurt.

Listed as non-working, turns out the owner didn't realize there was a power switch on the bottom.

RonSS - So you didn't turn the switch on at the owners place did you ?

#12619 4 years ago
Quoted from TenaciousT:

RonSS - So you didn't turn the switch on at the owners place did you ?

We actually did. The deal was done and the owner moving. After he saw the switch he had asked if we could just try it, out of curiosity. He was a nice guy, and seemed like a straight shooter so we entertained the request. Lights!

I think he was just more bummed that he missed out on 20 years of playing.

I saw that the other day, too busy to even think about another pickup. Nice!

Too busy! Now that Melody is ready for play action I need to shuffle around the game room and get back to Hearts and Spades. Will be my first attempt at shooting webbing on a cabinet. There is a Bally solid state after that...

I was there in march, and played a lot at Zanzabar, and Recbar. I liked both quite a bit. Recbar is nice I had the time so we got there early and played before it got busy.

Today's two game haul-
1966 Bally Deluxe Fun Cruise- Flipperless game in 1966! Look at the nicotine on the last pic of this game
1969 Williams Gridiron- Nothing like a *pitch and bat* game that's got a *Football* theme...what were they thinking?

I brought this one home! My second. It was a big mistake to let the first one go.
I sold it with 14 others in 2017. Glad to have Buzz & Bud back where they belong. This game is in better condition than my last. Now If I could just figure out how to raise the ceiling to get my topper on.
