Picked these old girls up at Pintastic this past weekend. I'm a sucker for these old-timers. Just love the artwork and designs. Here's the 1948 Williams Tucson. This one plays very well and I just got the impulse flippers fixed today, at least until the new coil comes in next week after PBR returns from vacation.

TucsonTucson

And this one is the 1940 Genco Big Town. This one needs some work on scoring as it doesn't seem to be handling the rollover multiplier properly. It also sometimes fails to deliver all 5 balls to the lifter but a solid thump takes care of it. Hopefully just an alignment or dirt issue.

Quoted from poppapin:

My wife actually worked at Gremlin when we lived in San Diego back in the 70's assembling video games!

I have a Moon Cresta and found this site while doing some research;

http://allincolorforaquarter.blogspot.com/

Lot of history about Gremlin there.

Yay Monster Bash from Sega just arrived! Yes... the video game. Not the Monster Bash we all know and love. Truly a rare gem that needed to be posted here even though it shouldn't live in pinball land... Soon to come at the next Horrorhouse Fest![quoted image][quoted image]

So cool. I game I only have played on mame.

Sad that Deadpool had to leave the building (will definitely come back in the future), but pretty dang stoked to finally have a Spidey in the lineup!

I picked up the third 'Fantastic Four' early Williams SS pins from a great seller and fellow Pinsider. I already have Firepower and Black Knight. Only Flash has eluded me thus far. I grew up playing these pins and they have a special place in my pinball heart. There were so many 'firsts' during the late 70s at Williams. The designers were busy changing forever how pinball machines would be made.

Gorgar is the first 'talking' pinball machine.

Day_1_backglass (resized).jpgDay_1_backglass (resized).jpg

Day_1_playfield (resized).jpgDay_1_playfield (resized).jpg

The seller suggested that I cover the game so the plastics wouldn't melt. I've never had this problem before but it was a sunny 106º day and took his advice. I was worried about the sheet flying off the machine at 75 MPH on I-10, but we had secured it well. I could just imagine a huge pile-up on I-10 caused by my pinball covering flying into the windshield of a truck behind me.

I plan to route this game just as soon as I can find an MPU and Driver board.

Gorgar has joined the pins at Pecos' Palatial Pinball Parlour!

That’s no joke. Found that out the hard way a couple years ago. The Arizona heat will warp rams etc. It can happen surprisingly fast during the summer.

BTW, congrats on the new pick up.

Man that game was a quarter gobbler in the arcade. It was one of those that let you think you were going to win a game, then drain before you could.

2013 Trek Premium. My 2002 4Runner started shuttering as I pulled up to sellers house. Coil pack misfire, check engine light came on half way home. I was like oh boy. But I made it. Great SUV for pinballs, gets fixed Monday.

I had something similar about 6 months ago with my 2002. Bit of stuttering here and there and lots of stalling. I changed the plugs, cleaned the throttle body and a few other things. Nothing helped until I got a fresh tank of gas. Been running fine ever since. Actually sounding great after all the cleaning. Hope yours is running properly soon!

#12540 4 years ago

Thanks. The back glass is a little rough, but not in the important spots. The play field is great (except by the bat). I have replaced the rotted power cord and some bad solder connections and it now plays. I will call PBR on Monday to order a schematic, it continually scores and the reels don't stop spinning after the first target is hit.

Change the plug wires while you are there and the plugs also. I just traded in a beautiful 2002 4R with 216k miles had original plug wires and coils. A coil failed, so replaced all 3 along with wires and coils. $150 fixes all of it and will likely run another 200k. Great vehicles.

Yeah, that's totally cool. The only thing is it need to be tuned up and fixed. When plugged in, the (I don't know what its called yet) stepper, turning thing in cab won't stop turning, the motor is going is around and around. time to read......learn. I'm thinking something stuck on, short, switch stuck someplace............ time to go all EM up in this shit!

Awesome. Let me know if you need any help. That is the stepper unit, check the switch stack and spacer leafs. You can stop it by tripping the tilt relay.

And make sure the score reel resets to all zeros when you start a game. If it doesn’t, that will keep the stepper unit running as well.
