Quoted from Pinless:

I just want to know how you guys find these pins. Local ads seem to be so few and far between.

It’s lucky. I was about to pull the trigger on BM66 but it was a longer drive. When I replied back to the BM66 guy it was already sold. Later found two ST premium. One was much more mods but more money and probably a lot more plays. This was cheaper but bone stock. I mean bone stock even the rule cards are factory.

Traveled to Seattle for a wedding this weekend. Told the wife I couldn't waste the trip and not p/u a pin. Got a title that has been on my want list for sometime a Junk Yard from JP, great guy. Great machine, excited to add it to my collection.

Craigslist? Pinside?

Fun underrated game. Congrats on the pick up (and totally not wasting a long trip to come home empty-handed).

But man, you gotta use cardboard or PVC to load/slide that thing in your car. You’re going to snag the cabinet and rip it. I speak from experience in my early collecting days.

#12255 4 years ago

Or pick up a couple pieces of pvc pipe to roll the game on, from your local hardware store. Get them a bit wider then the cabinet. Makes loading games in the back pretty easy.

A trick I've been using lately is to place a large black trash bag (55 gal?) on the vehicle floor with cardboard on top -- when the game is set on the cardboard it slides across the bag fairly easy -- a nice feature when loading solo.

The game is always strapped down for the ride home on the slippery surface. . . safety first!

Not picked up, but delivered and good incentive for a road-trip.

I had jones'd for a year to share a Who Dunnit. Finally; Mission Complete. The mission was bumpy and the shipping was lame: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/how-to-arrange-delivery#post-5034664 . There's work to do and a thorough connection check before power. At this moment, I'm very thankful to have one.

A big Blue Ox was darn upset that I crammed Paul into the backseat of my Accord and took off! Too bad, Babe! Bunyan might appreciate hanging out next to a Slick Chick for a while.

For loading/unloading pins, buy a pool noodle from the dollar store and machines just roll right in and out of your vehicle easily. Learned this trick here on pinside and worked like magic on my last purchase.

Sorry everyone. "This will be off topic".

A pool noodle can also be used as door bumper in a tight 2 car garage. Thread string/rope through the noodle, with enough string/rope to hang the noodle from the ceiling, between the 2 parking spots. Making sure set the noodle level with the open position of the car doors.

Now back to our regular programming.

Save your noodle and use a 1" pvc pipe.

Sorry, couldn’t find the “what noodle did you bring home today” thread. And it doubles as a neck rest on long pick ups! Figured I would pick up a few based on the chatter.

I still prefer to use cardboard though, because it covers and protects your bumper while you’re leaning and loading the game. Plus I only have about 32” of clearance in the hatchback on my Acadia, so I can’t afford to give up height space.

Brought this home after getting it out of a basement that it's been in for 30+ years.
Widebody and stairs with 90 degree turns do not go well together. Should clean up nice.

Sweet!! Welcome to the club. That thing looks friggin nice! Not a game you see up for grabs too often.

These always have extensive wear/rust on the LD bar. Just got done redoing mine, but now I’m on the hunt for a better apron. Still needs a little work.

A total of 6 states, early morning to middle of the night drive, five hundred bucks on top of a trade, but one of my Grail pins is now home. Some very minor board work and wiring completed, some lights replaced and and now she's up and running and I couldn't be happier.

I have been on the hunt for one of these for a long time. . .

After some negotiations that involved removing a tooth I was able to chase one down and corral it into the Wrangler.

Wonder if Stern is still interested in my feedback?

Some long playfield shots on this one. . . needs a little polishing but I bet with some TLC it will play fast!

I wouldn't say no to either -- although those pins have a higher price tag than I usually chase after. You'd never know I'm trying to downsize. . . my goal is to get down to about 10 or so. Just so difficult to do when opportunities present themselves. . . I think you know what I mean.

I am a fan of both Cyclops and Andromeda. After playing them both quite a bit, I think Andromeda is a better game. Cyclopes has better artwork though.

One more big-budget, cookie-cutter layout, tank-sized shimmering box of lights for the road... then I begin my trek down the early 80's wormhole!

Well, I mean after I complete my OTHER trade for a Black Spiderman this month of course

But moving forward after that, I want all my new games to sound like a vectrex on a three day meth binge PEW PEW
