Quoted from Nyraiderfan:Hey guys just won an auction on eBay for No Fear, picking it up Monday ( I will post pictures when I bring it home ) I read somewhere that on the back glass the skier is wearing a yellow snow suit and they say that those machines were the first 200 to go out the rest that were produced had the skier in a red and black snow suit also by looking at the pictures the graphics on the cab seems to be mostly yellow instead of the red and yellow cabs that are mostly seen, does anyone know or can confirm a different version of No Fear?
Sounds like you won the faded cab version
Lol, that's what I was thinking but I've seen other pictures of no fear with the skier in his yellow suit with the same color cab, guess I'll know for sure when I pick it up, funny thing is if the cab is faded it doesn't look like anything else faded with it not to mention the graphics on the cab look exact on all sides.
Surfers! Yes thanks professorpinball

Thanks buddy I did but it does not say much other than it might of been one of the first of the production line, i was wondering if their was any coilition with the yellow ( faded look ) cab that I have seen in some other photos.

Williams red fades horribly on all their games. It is very common for only red to be faded out. In the case of no fear it would leave only yellow. I highly doubt that there was some connection between a yellow cab and a yellow skier on the translite but hey, what do I know lol. Simple solution.... post the pics from the ad and see what people have to say.

Thanks jmountjoy111, I will find out when I pick up the machine tomorrow on the fade issue
Quoted from yzfguy:Please don't let the seller convince you that the faded cabinet is "on purpose."
It's cool, it wasn't in the description but the pictures clearly showed it. Also in his description it says LED's and a new main ramp. Does anyone know if this game was produced with LED's?

No it was not produced with LEDs. Only the most recent games are being produced with LEDs from the factory.

No, they would have had to be swapped in.
Picked this guy up a little while back so figured I would post some pics.
Long story a short a really good customer of mine found out that I collected pins and gave it to me.
I'm pretty sure it has not been played in a very long time.
All of the rubbers were yellow, cracked and hard as a rock.
Anyhow, had it out in the driveway today with my 8 year old son working on it.
Striped sown the play filed and cleaned it, replaced all the rubbers and burnt out bulbs today.
Also fixed some of the plastics that were warped by laying them flat on the garage floor and taking a heat gun to them.
After that my son and I replaced all the bulbs in the head box and underneath the play filed as well as two loose solenoids for the score reels that were missing screws. After that it got dark and was dinner time. Will probably hit it again in the next few days.
The game seems to mostly work excepts a couple of the coils keep getting stuck once the ball is in play and has hit targets.
Anyhow, pretty bitchin for free.

Quoted from V_piscopo:Looks super nice. And for FREE!!!
Hey, no matter what, you can't beat FREE!!
Looks great, btw...

No Fear is a great fun game.
Such a shame the cabinet fades so badly though.

Call retrorefurbs, I bet they make a nice set of replacement cab decals!
I know what you’re thinking and just refrain from commenting... hey, at least it has the right head. :p
It’s not really “brought home today” but it’s the first time it’s ever been powered up. I basically built this from parts laying around for years and it has turned out better than I was expecting. It wasn’t free but the parts I bought for it were of minimal cost.

Love my S&S! Great game
Quoted from Puffdanny:It's missing the rotating spotlight on the right but other than that it looks complete and only noticed 2 cracked plastics, just super dirty.it's a good thing I bought the gallon jug of Novus 2.

Absolutely. I’ve heard it referred to as “the poor man’s Kingpin”. Definitely an awesome and rare find. I want an Excalibur, which aren’t easy to find either. Congrats Danny...great addition to the line up.

Congrats. I am surprised nobody commented on the hybrid cabinet, what were your plans for that, repaint or replace later? More importantly, who stores things on top of a Fathom in the background? Very disrespectful

Did that one come from Ohio? there was one for sale near me recently.

Yes out of Lorain.it was up for a couple months but they dropped the price for Christmas .

LOL, like the PF swap+parts for THAT actual game. I know, a silly concept.
I will leave the lower cabinet the way it is for now. I still have to install the chime boxes in a game that was never intended to house them.

Awesome.
This is household favorite and my 8 year old sons favorite pin and the one that really peaked his interest in pinball.
He would often just watch us play and really would not get all that involved.
This and WOZ really got him into it.
Now he will play pretty much anything and want's to help me work in pins.
Really great game.

That’s great to hear. WOZ was a huge help for my family also.
I have to say I played The Hobbit for the first time at the recent Cincy show and really like it. I also think it's much better than Lord of the Rings. Played that Hobbit at least 30 times, probably closer to 50 over the weekend
About a year and a half ago I sold three games to fund an ECLE WoZ. One of those games was Twister. I know it gets a lot of crap around these parts, but my son loves it and was devastated when I sold it without him knowing.
Flash forward to today, and I was finally able to make things right with him. Can't wait to see his face when he sees it again!

Nice pick up. Was that the one that was on the Chicago CL?

Negative. I think you're talking about the one in Rockford. $3500 is way too rich for my blood.
