Finally pick up these two NIB Caribbean Cruise pins (not the stolen pins) from cpt_roadkill, these are the two remaining pins from the great storage locker theft in SC. Unboxed the one that had a rougher condition box. Looks good!

You didn't actually bring the pin on subway did you? Wouldn't be the strangest thing on there.

Of course! Hah. No, the other guy didn’t have a hand truck so I brought it with me. He rented the truck truck so it was a team effort

Quoted from timtim:

Well I got another skateball
I don't think I'll let this one leave.
It's definitely a player but after some easy repairs it's running and play surprisingly well
I'll probably shop it today
Also I might need to expand.
Best part was the wife asked what game I got rid of

I don't normally hang out around dark storage units in the middle of the night but made an exception yesterday and found this lurking in the depths of a locker. . .

I've not played Stars but the Fathom is a good fun game to me. Enjoy!

PS did you buy a storage locker or was it your own?

Local craigslist post. Fella was cleaning out some stuff from his Man Cave.
It was just the Fathom this time -- picked up Stars a couple weeks ago.

I been looking for one of these for awhile. Drove to South Jersey to get it. Needed the usual clean up and fix a few wires. Still needs chimes rebuilt and pop bumper work. Might put a hardtop on it. Any thoughts on that?

I saw the post at 2 hours old & called. Got the call back from the seller 2 hours after that telling me it was sold. (I figured.)
Congratulations! Great catch!

Luckily I lived about 30 minutes away.

Picked up this fish tales. Cab is faded, but it’s in good shape. Looking forward to this one

Fathom is amazing but I'm still on the search for a stars myself.

Paul says, "I think I'd like to try an EM". We enjoy the restoring process so, Ok, we look for a DAY and find this gem on facebook marketplace. Message the guy and steal it for $250. Turns out it has been in his family since new. He has NEVER seen it with the head off, and the rubbers have been changed probably once. It plays and the playfield is near perfect. It's a 1964 Williams River Boat. It needs some good lovin' and it will be a gem. Deals are out there!

Same here! FT seems to suffer cab fade the worst. Too bad because I really like the art on this one. Great game. I am surprised you can still find these reasonably cheap. Mine needs a bit of work but look forward to fixing it up. Should be a nice player when done.

You can have the whole cab looking like new for a couple hundred bucks if its not beat to crap.

I usually don't care about the cab but FT has such great art and color. Is it possible to redecal a game without taking everything apart? I imagine you need to if sanding, painting, and all that.

Not really, heat gun it or sand off the old.
Fill dings, paint, re-decal.

Find the Vids cabinet repair thread, it’s great if your interested.

Well, I bought a #revenge-from-mars machine a few weeks ago but only managed to arrange a time to get out there when the store was open and pick it up on two days ago. It's the third machine that I've bought and the first that wasn't a project machine. I feel I paid a premium for it (AU$4950) compared to what I have seen private sellers selling them for but we were told it had come from a private collection and had very few plays on it. When I went to pick it up the glass was scratched and I was told that you can buy replacements but from my research they aren't cheap or easy to come by. When I got it home inside the cabinet was filthy and although the diagnostics said it had played under 50 games it also said it had taken several thousand games worth of income. I'm thinking it may be a re-skin of a #star-wars-episode-i. Running the diagnostics also came up with a few errors for lights and switches. As well as this it had a manual and coin box in the cabinet when we first looked at it that weren't in it when we got it home and there are not site keys to unlock the lock for the play field glass. The cabinet looks in good nick over all and plays well but I am regretting buying it. The other two cabinets I have bought I have been so happy with my purchase and over the moon about getting them. I realise in the big picture of a shop that sells pinball machines this isn't a massive sale but for me it is and for what I paid I expected more. Am I being unreasonable? Has any one else had a similar experience?

Hell no you are not being unreasonable. I would contact them and get it corrected or ask them to discount what you paid!

#10325 5 years ago

I totally agree with RWH. The place or person you purchased from is someone I would never want to do business with. I suggest you protect your fellow Pinsider's from getting screwed in the future and post the company/person's name who lied to you.

This is my Black Friday purchase.
New project game for 150 euro.
One side painted blue.
Playfield damage in the center.
This is going to be a players game.

Wish there were more reasonably priced player's games. For little money you get to experience a new machine and send it on its way when ready.

Museum pieces are nice to look at, but I like players. I'm never nervous when kids are playing because it's already nicked and dented.

Scored yesterday-

1966 Gottlieb Dancing Lady
1963 Williams El Toro

Both have been home use at same house for 40 years. The Gottlieb, as I'm told, was purchased from the owner of the company that was making Gottlieb cabinets at the time- August Johnson- and for some reason ended up in the wrong cabinet for the game (what game is this cab actually from?)

Bright colors, no bg flaking, really beautiful games.
