I brought home an arcade game and it lead to me picking up the saddest Seawitch playfield ever to exist.

Sorry to bum anyone out, but I really had to post this. Crosspost from the pinball horror thread.

This thing was sitting outside in a pile as we loaded up the arcade machine.

Quoted from the original post:

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

I went and bought a Maximum Force from this really crappy, somewhat cryptic letgo ad. They mentioned other arcade machines but I wasn’t able to get out there for over a month.
This place was quite literally the middle of nowhere. No cell service, an EIGHT MILE DEAD END ROAD. All the signs of “you’re going to get murdered out here”
[quoted image]
Finally I get to this hillbilly heaven of a few ramshackle houses and folks having big bonfires on their front lawns.
On the side of the house there’s a pile stacked to the roof of absolutely destroyed games: Super Hang-On, a dual Time Crisis, two Silent Scopes, some Konami flying games. All smashed to pieces.
The only two games left are Maximum force and an abortion of an X-men vs Street Fighter (with a Big Buck Hunter gun attached for some reason)
When I asked WHY they destroyed the games, this was the pearl of wisdom I received: “Well they wasn’t working right so we’s figured tuh scrap em”
I asked if they had anymore pieces or any pinball parts and they said those had already been destroyed.
[quoted image]
I was looking around the piles of arcade tragedy and found this poor, pathetic Seawitch burned beneath a flight simulator. I wanted to save what was left immediately and they told me “well that’s ‘er burn pit, but if yous really wannit, it’s yers”
If I had just came in a month sooner I could have saved even more.
[quoted image]
They smashed up over 30 arcade machines and a few pinball machines because they didn’t work and they figured nobody wanted them so they never even offered. I heard that several other brave souls ventured out before me and grabbed a game or two, but they weren’t as explorative as myself. Which is completely understandable because they also had a small pack of pit-bulls roaming the backyard and they weren’t terribly happy to see me.
All in all I never thought I’d be in this thread but here I am and let me tell you seeing this in personal was abysmal.
Now I understand the feeling. I could have possibly saved some more bits and pieces, but digging through all the destroyed cabs was just so damn disheartening.

I know, I know.... its another #metallica-le ... But.... It is MINE

This is my first post here and I have been waiting a while to do so.

I waited a while for this NIB from the last production run.
Thanks Steve from Pinball Refinery!!! He spiced up my game for a small fee. Its is one awesome looking machine!

Glad to pay when I do not have the time to do it myself. I just want to play the game (if the kids do not "steal" my turn)!! I have enough Arcade projects to worry about.

@mr_tantrum, thanks for the custom instruction cards... Makes it the full package!

FYI, sorry for the dimmed photos... Guest room has crappy lighting.

Quoted from Mopar:

Many times I have reminded myself that I need to export, not import, but since I've somewhat
had an eye out for this glass, and the machine was only 15 minutes down the road, for a 100 bucks
it was tough to bypass. Should be able to come out with a fairly decent one between the two that I have..
The playfield in the other cab. (tucked away) is pretty nice..[quoted image]

Pinball rescue has remade the plastics for this , and the moulded reel cover for the playfield reels , nice pick up btw

Thanks for that information, but all the plastics on the machine I picked up maybe 15-18 years ago are all
nice including the playfield reels plastic, however, if I happen to get another backglass for the 2nd machine,
that one would be in need of a playfield reels plastic..

The new Reel cover they make is really nice and thick , compared to the original thin plastic , the one on my game was warped and cracked .
I sold my Full house several years ago . It was one of my first pinballs I repaired and owned,
Nice Game , but can be loud with all the Bells going
I had a set sent over from pinball rescue and they are now fitted to that game .

This was on my wish list for a long time and I think I got a great deal, it has a rebuilt power driver board, NVRAM, new Fliptronic board but it needs a shop job and a cleaning, plus the one bracket is broken that holds the 4th ring (I have the piece and the ring so I'll have to weld it or try some sort of metal epoxy but I'm not too worried about that now). The game plays great and I'll start to shop it out, swap out to LEDs and set it up in the lineup.

I hope that the Aurich art package will be available again.

Thanks Dan, best of luck to you!

Great pick up. Definitely an underrated game and fun as hell. I’ve never owned one, but have played a ton of them.

I had my bud’s gun chromed a while back when I was sending out some other parts, and I would definitely recommend doing that. Comes out awesome. He had an extra Aurich translite a while back too. I’ll check with him and if he still has it, I’ll shoot you a PM.

Picked up my First actual 1963 pinball Sweet Hearts Saturday. It was in the same place I put it in 1980s when I sold it for 150.00 to a co worker.
In his mothers basement. I gave 200.00 to get it back. It does not look like it was touched or maintained since except to be painted off white. This is a time capsule to the 1980s when you used what you had. There was no internet. No way to get schematics, parts or even a score card etc. Could get the Western auto to order 44 and 47 bulbs back then.
I put pictures on photobucket of my actual Sweet Hearts as it is now right after coming out of the vehicle into the garage Saturday evening 10/27/18.

I found a Sweet Hearts a few years ago was not looking but came across one. Pictures from restore for this one are on photobucket.

It’s been a busy few months in my collection! Since picking up T2 in July, I have nabbed a Road Kings and a Volley (finished the restoration on those ones), an Elektra, Seawitch (a.k.a. The Beatles before they were famous) and BK2K. I’m half done the BK2K which was a pretty big project but it’s turning out great!
*sorry my pics are all out of proper order...can seem to change that?!?!
