Traded my TZ for a practically new HUO LOTR. Glad to have it back. Looks like a 14,000$ machine compared to GOT

A nice HUO Ripley's. The tilt bob was still sealed in a bag.

RBION is the only Stern machine on my "hit list".

One of these days I might have one.

I like the shrunken head. I haven't been buying many modern games lately but I always liked this one and wanted to get a nice one. So here it is.

#955 4 years ago

Keep me in mind if you decide to part w/ it...looks nice.

#956 4 years ago

Will do! The play count said 50 but it may have a few more. Hard to tell...

#957 4 years ago

Not a pin. But I've been looking for a nice one of these for a long time. Picked up this HUO Big Buck Hunter Safari with 51 plays from the original owner. Looks like it just came out of the box!

Nice find congrats! Love this machine so much. If you get a second would you mind taking a shot of the row of GI bulbs under the backbox? I have a really nice one I also recently acquired but the color seems a little off to me, it's basically alternating gold and blue. Thanks and enjoy.

I think I will play this one hard for a while before restoring and playfield swap. 550+ miles trip one way to get this one. Atlanta to Nags Head NC!image.jpg

14 hours of driving, a couple hours figuring out how to disassemble, move, and load this thing, another hour or so convincing girlfriend to help me unload it at 3am. Jeez.

Got home just fine thankfully.

I have now bought my second machine in two months. It is a rare Bally City Slicker in OKC. I drove over 11 hours and had a little trouble getting it in the Durango. It's pretty dirty and and has a little flaking around the displays on the backglass but it seems to work alright and the playfield is great so I'm pretty excited. I haven't taken any pics so here are some pics from the seller.

You guys are going to love that game. I won't part with mine. welcome to the club

I love Ripley's. Protect those flipper buttons. Like LOTR, the wear really stands out. I protect all my Stern games even HUO.

Finally brought home and set-up an old Straight Shooter pin that was sitting at a collector friend's home (5 hour drive away) for over 6 months.

She ain't the prettiest (yet) and needs tweaking but a fun and challenging woodrail from '59.

Yeah, thanks, scored that last month!

After a few years of hunting, I was lucky enough to finally find one, only 20 minutes away! And it plays and looks great! XY monitor is a bit slow to warm up but waiting on a cap kit and LV2K board. I also had the Zector ZVG board w/ custom control panel for years in anticipation but vectorMame project can wait.

That's a really nice looking set of tables right there, they seem to compliment each other nicely, very beautiful seeing the three all lit up together.

Thanks, for me that era really is the best time so far for pinball, the sound and art just everything trumps the modern stuff. I like the new Sterns and 90's DMD's but they feel like blockbuster summer movies and these pins are the cult classsics, I would rather watch Blade Runner than Jurassic Park so it works well for me.

Got this really clean Funrise Star Wars. HUO and the previous owner said he just shopped it out. Boards look great too. $10,000 by Christmas I'll bet. 20150925_215324.jpg

I ended up finding a Gottlieb Street Fighter II. It's not one of my rare finds, but one interesting thing about it was that it had a TNT Amusements sticker from 2000. It also looks like it was serviced a second time by another company before finding its way into someone's home, and then into my hands.

Another interesting thing is that the shooter broke and the shooter rod ended up in the shooter lane.

The game boots, minus the display. The display fuse blew, and I don't have one on-hand (a 3/8 Amp Slow-Blow), which I'll have to include on my next parts order. However, the display has burn-in and a scorch mark, so I'll pop in a spare that I have. The DMD board also has a couple of modifications, which I'll have to look into.

It looks like the MPU has one of the barrel-shaped lithium batteries that TNT Amusements was using a while back. 15 years and no leakage. It's probably time to replace it, though...

And yes, the car is busted, as is usually the case

Every radio shack I have ever been in had 3/8 amp SB fuses in stock. It's that 1/8 amp that williams displays used that is hard to come by. Nice find btw

I'm in no rush--it's just not a fuse that I had on-hand. I'll probably incluse some on the next batch of parts I order.

I recently completed a trade that was in the works for almost 2 years. This was pretty much the only pinball machine that could have pried Star Trek: Next Generation out of my hands. The op wanted my STTNG for years and I have always wanted a LOTR. He did a fantastic job restoring this from the ground up. It has a clearcoated playfield, hammered bronze powdercoat from Back Alley Creations, all new plastics, all the protectors, decals and it has the figures too. I am normally not a big mod or powdercoat guy as I think most of it looks out of place and/or tacky, but this powdercoat job really fits. This is what they should have put on the LOTR LE. Overall the game looks and plays like new. I'm pretty happy and now more people at Mortimer's here will get to enjoy the awesomeness that is STTNG pinball after the op goes through it and puts my old game on route. Win/win.
