Quoted from grantopia:

Lol, must be the week for these. Might hit you up for tips trying to get mine going .

I'll do what I can! I'm no Bally expert by any means, but I'll try to help with whatever I can

Quoted from chalkup8:

That's a nice looking Frontier, will go well with your other two Bally's.I'd love to have the opp to get a nice one like that.

Quoted from Capinball:

That's one of the nicer Frontier machines that I've seen. Congrats on the pickup.

Thanks guys! Really excited to have it in my home. The crickets are strong with this one Once it's cleaned up, it'll sit between Paragon and FG. My wife says no more Ballys though. Not sure how I feel about that

Today; I took delivery of my second new-in-box machine; picking it up direct from Multimorphic. This was a Pre-Order which included:
Lexy Lightspeed - Escape From Earth
Lexy Lightspeed - Secret Agent Showdown
Cannon Lagoon
The cannon lagoon module is behind the machine in the background (hidden).

I didn't get permissions to photograph my helpers; so I've blocked their faces.
LoadingLoading
Loaded for journey homeLoaded for journey home
I didn't need the box; so I asked them to keep it.

This weekend; I need to make some room in the arcade for it... so for now; I can't take any additional photos.

I've been looking forward to this one for quite some time.... maybe it'll finally get me re-energized to start that Borderlands Pinball machine... of course that may prove difficult given I no longer have a Techshop (makerspace) to make custom parts.

It had some wear around a few of the inserts above the flippers and around the pops, but one of the previous owners touched it up and cleared it, then laid down a playfield protector.

I have the magic!!!

Picked this up from an awesome Pinsider yesterday. After a few tweaks do to normal transportation the game plays great and is in really nice shape. Can’t wait to put some time on it tonight.

Picked up a Dragon this week ... purpose: Virtual Pin cab! However, it might be too clean to swap. New rubbers are on order and we’ll see what happens!

Dude, nice looking Dragon, and it runs? I'm sure you can find something more cringe-worthy for a virtual build, or just build a cab.

#9222 5 years ago

Dragon is a fun game when you have played it a little and know how the rules work. Very overlooked game. Lots of fun. Play it a bunch before you do anything. That is a very good game.

#9223 5 years ago
Quoted from BorgDog:

It seems to play 100%. The owner told me the game was in just okay shape, thus the cheap price. Sight unseen deal.
Backglass is 9.5 out of 10, just some small flaking.
Cabinet has no damage, just dirty.
Backbox has a small scratch.
Playfield is in good condition with minimal ball wear.
I have not played a full ball until the kit comes in, but all coils/switches work as does the display.
Under the playfield is cleaner than my new. Sterns lol!
Has the manual/copies of service/advertisements ..

Once I get the rubbers replaced and clean it, I’ll see what we’ll do. I won’t tear apart a good condition machine just for the cab.

#9224 5 years ago
Quoted from Dallas_Pin:

Especially in that condition.

#9225 5 years ago

Clean the playfield and wax. New Rubbers and ball. Check game over. Then just keep it and start playing. I think you will find you like that game.

#9226 5 years ago

That Dragon is most definitely *NOT* a VPin candidate, especially if it works! Shop it and play it, and if you don't want to keep it sell it on, it's just looks too nice to part out!!

#9227 5 years ago

My diamond plate White Water has a new brother. Non faded, great play field.

Three pins in four days. A Houdini, a super nice FT. Flash Gordon today. Had to disconnect the head from FG as it would not fit thru the door. F me! A real PITA but worth it. I am pretty sore from moving pins around. Need a few days to self medicate and recover

Picked this up from a coworker for not much money for a friend of mine down the road. Coworker's wife wanted it gone and hadn't been turned on years. A little bit (actually a lot) of elbow grease...plus I'll have to fix some electrical issues - and maybe we'll have a new Pinside member...

Not making any money for elbow-grease, just reimbursement for the pin + parts.

It's relaxing helping to bring these back to life and a little bit shinier, regardless of the labor I have in it. Not trying to make it perfect, just a heck of a lot better for a 'players' machine for his family's enjoyment.

A couple of before and after pics, but just cleaned, no wax.

Besides my normal arsenal of cleaning gadgets, I finally swung by Harbor Freight and got an ultrasonic cleaner. Boy, that thing works wonders on posts.

Anyone have any rollovers they want to sell? They seem to a little hard to find.

Took home one of my grail pins today! Been wanting a Road Show for over a decade now. Probably should have been looking harder a few years ago when they were cheaper, but... eh, I got it. Needs some work, but at least it's pretty clean.

Part of my tarp blew loose on the way home - a 2.5-hour drive - and flopped violently in the wind. Got home to discover that it had deposited tiny bits of green plastic all over the glass and backbox - and somehow even all over the apron under the glass. That was the first time I've ever had to vacuum part of a playfield.

NOTE: Game was unfolded for photo purposes. It was NOT driven home uncovered with the backbox raised.
NOTE 2: I missed a major opportunity in the first photo; the game should have been sitting on the cardboard. Without legs, it was imamaculate.

#9246 5 years ago

Well, looks like I didn't even have to answer that one! Yeah, that's my custom design, build thread posted above. The cabinet is built WPC-style, so it fits next to the WPC games and matches their glass slope for a nice even look.

Spent a whole week's worth of free time cleaning out the basement, throwing out junk, and rearranging the pins for today. I tried to put similarly-built games together - and, perhaps coincidentally, the final layout put everything in chronological order (see the last two pics). Thought that was a nice touch.

Where was I when the three posts were made above? Fixing the left jet bumper and beating the grand champ score at 2,700,000,000. I'm happy now.
