Quoted from CosmoJoe:

It was a damn good day! MMr has been on my 'want' list for a while now. DI is just crazy fun. Sadly, wifey has me stopping at 4. Need to find a technicality.....

You need to pick up a project machine, technically they don't count.

My Dad bought this 6MDM in December of 1979 to keep me out of the 7-11 down the street. It was in the same location in his house for 39 years. Never moved. Never stored. Over the years, we would shop it together.and have always kept her running. He is moving and the game has now passed down.

Great story. Enjoy it. I know one 6MDM that will never be for sale!

My thought on that is the Mustang community is so large that there are likely a lot of owners of this pin that arent connected to pinball, and this not playing them extensively and wanting to move them. I'll bet we will find a lot of super low play Mistang machines for sale on the distant future.

Awesome back story to your 6MDM!

My birthday was Friday (Ya I know... 4-20), so sat am picked myself up a bday present near Great America. Pf had typical wear, BG is pristine, cab is ok. Listed as 'lights up but wont start a game'. Um ya, there needs to be a little round silver thing in the trough to start a game! Score!

2nd EM pickup in 2 weeks!

Cheesy bonus, such a fun game! What a score! hows the playfield and plastics?

Very dirty lol it was under a tarp in the basement but should clean up good. I'll have some time to get into it tonight and can get some better pics for sure. Insane pinbot grab! I usually see a killer deal once every few weeks on FB and this time I got lucky and was the first message. The guy held it for me even though he was getting offers of double and triple, couldn't believe it!

I don't have a firepower. No need for a hardtop.

Maybe not but considering you were not familiar with PPS it might be worth at least understanding what a hard top is. It’s a pretty amazing product that if not just for firepower. If you want to get into pinball I’d take all the knowledge you can get. I’ve been doing this for years and learn something new every single day

It's a business investment.
It's a business expense.
It's perfect for my business.
The price is right.
It's on my wish list.

Quoted from Pecos:

I have finally figured out what my five would be - today only, may change tomorrow!

Zipper Flippers and Multi-Ball - Bally Nip-It or maybe Capersville Nip-It has sentimental value
Late Williams EM like Rancho, Big Deal, Hot Tip, Lucky Seven, Argosy, Wild Card, Space Mission - DC pops and slings, usually have great play with little playfield wear
Williams Doodle Bug - Sentimental value and, of course, the Doodle Bug feature and Pointy People to add to my Pointy People collection!
Williams Gulfstream - Because I like OXO so much and more Pointy People!
Bally Wizard! Theme, Flip Flags and sentimental value

Honorable Mentions - Big Valley, Joker Poker but prefer the SS version

It is amazing how the brain can rationalize the purchase of a pinball machine that you can't afford!

This 'Wizard!' has an interesting history. It was listed for sale last year on CL. I called and the seller offered to sell it for less than the listed price. I went to my credit union, got the cash and by then the seller changed his mind and wouldn't sell it to me for the reduced price. It sat on CL for another month or two and then disappeared. I thought it had been sold until I sat down to update the Project Pin thread. I always look at Tucson first. Lo and behold, there it was again, this time for less than was agreed upon a year ago.

How could I turn down this 'Wizard!'? I couldn't. It will go to number two in the restoration queue. It will then go out on route so all of those Tucsonans who remember 'Wizard!' can play it again and so new memories can be made. And I have the perfect location for it.

It came with the backbox door, the coin box and the coin door key - essential items for pins that will go out on route. Thank you Mr. Seller! I am really happy to have 'Wizard!' and even happier that it will soon be getting a lot of play.

Congrats! Groovy looking game

Sorry Pecos and dirkdiggler but I still think Wizard! and Capt. Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy are overrated and overpriced. I have some pinsiders who agree with me on this.

#fireball-bally is overpriced too.

Well I’m glad we got that squared up. I think all pinball machines are over priced and everyone should just give me their machines for almost nothing just because....

Personal opinions vary, but market prices are dictated by supply and demand

Hi
Late to post, but picked up a Stellar Wars last Friday. Looks to be a system 6 MPU. Doesn't boot, but it was cheap.

Good for you, mate !
I wasn't that lucky...
I managed to adapt displays from an old stock for the lower ones, but for the lower two digits ones, hard to find anything to be adapted...

And it'd be a shame to buy the whole thing just for those (but i might one day)...

Anyway, great game ! Have fun !
