Hmm. Does just a cabinet count?

Rest will follow within a few weeks. The JP I am getting has a much worse cabinet so took this in first to clean and than do the swap in a workshop close by.

2006 Stern POTC HUO find. It was setup in a nice dark basement in 2006, and stayed there until I came along.

Rocket III must have had the worst factory cabinet paint of any game ever made. I have never seen one with the original paint that didn’t look terrible.
That On Beam looks nice...more pics please.

Definitely...two great games, and Fire Queen is pretty damn good too. That's a great trio for a day's grab.

Seller gave me a copy of the original receipt where he purchased it from an arcade in 1997 for $2850. It sat in his house ever since. Not a lot of plays. Needs a good tuneup and clean up but should be real sweet once that's done.

Did you at least give him $2900

Are you kidding? That machine is now 20 years older - he should have paid me to take it!

But yes, I think he did OK since he probably spent very little on it after he bought it - looks like the original rubbers, bulbs, etc.

Nice pickup and a cool story that comes with it. Should look brand new after you give it a decent clean up.

Geez, I sort of want to say the dude paid too much in 1997 for it at $2850 after two years on location. What was the retail on this pin in 1995?

I just remember hearing on some Todd Tuckey video he mention the many of the 90's Bally Williams game going for $750-$1000 when they were pulled off location.

What a great score for you... TOM is on my short list

Yes... I got a Drudge Dread for $450.00. The market was saturated with a lot of games that nobody wanted.

What Todd said is true, but for the early '90s. By the late '90s the home pin market started to pick up. I paid around $2200 for a ToM reimport from PinballHeaven UK around 2002, compared to $1300 to a TZ & $1100 for a STTNG in 1999.

That would be a blast during the xmas season!

I thought the same thing when he showed me the receipt. I think that operator really made out, routed the machine for two years and then probably got most or all of his purchase price back.

Wows. Is that a home arcade or a public location? Regardless, very nice. Love the lit arcade sign...and the collection of pins, natch.

Thank you sir, it's my home and arcade. Haha I technically live here just upstairs. I started out as a collector about 15 plus years ago while in the Marines. Planned on doing 20 years, but got cut short due to injuries. Anyway my wife and I bought this building about 6 years ago and renovated it, took about a year or more and have now been in business for 5 years in May. It's Called Game Over Arcade in Lincoln City Oregon its right on the Oregon coast. If you are ever out this way definitely come by.

Been there several times. Nice place!
I always have wondered, being so close to the ocean -- how difficult is maintenance on those pins with the high humidity?

Only a hundo. Have since caught a bft nearly twice that size. That tuna kicked my ass more than the 400# blue marlin I caught.

Sick I can't wait to try that game

#7376 1 year ago

That's awesome! Thank you for the support! It's actually not too bad, although I do have have heated storage and I'm guessing that helps a lot. If there's any machines that I don't have that you would like to see here definitely Let me know, I try and swap out at least a couple machines every couple weeks to keep thugs fresh for the locals.

Can you franchise your store to Southern Indiana? I'm jealous!

#7378 1 year ago

I used to date a girl in Evansville Indiana while in the Marines. Made the drive from Jacksonville NC to see her. That didn't last long that was a hell of a drive. Hahaha not looking to franchise but I could definitely help you out with whatever I can to help you open a place. Knowledge is power. I definitely had some help a long my journey.

Does completing a restoration after 7 months (well, just about done), bringing the game back in, putting it together and booting it up for the first time count? It sure feels like I just brought a different game home.

For anybody that didn't see the resto thread, threw up two "before" pictures in the beginning below just for reference.

Thanks fellas...on my 7th game already. Haha. Still have to add some white accents in the stencils and finish some things on the backbox, but was so itching to play this thing given that it's 95 percent done.

Thanks to sohchx (Devin) too. This cleared playfield feels like freaking glass. So fast.

Picked up an underdog today, HUO Bugs Bunny. Stored in a basement of a Delta Pilot for over 20 years. No fade and PF practically new. Batteries didn't leak on boards either which was a bonus.

That's not a big deal. You can powder coat it for $30, or buy a new one from Marco for 80.
