Snagged a Gottlieb Dimension on craigslist today for $50. A friend of mine picked it up for me and is holding it until I can make the 2 and half hour trip up north to Green Bay. One major downside is it's missing the head - so might search around for a bit for a head that'd work in place and a backglass. It's a fun game, and fairly uncommon/rare; so possibly worth the effort in fixing or building what's missing.

And looks to have minimum upper wear..
I have an eye out for a playfield. A couple years
back, I picked up a Dimension for $75 that had a shattered
playfeld glass and was under a leaky roof. The cabinet also
is in need of repair, but unlike the playfield, it is repairable..
Quoted from SLeRiC:I just picked up a SWeeT Lethal Weapon 3 ! SCORE, way under Pinside HIGH! It all looked OK until.... How appropriate to find an open condom wrapper beneath the manual. Can someone tell me how the hell does this happen? Who's raping pinball machines? SiCKoS! lol What treasures holiday deals brings!
Listen closely and maybe you'll hear Joe Pesci saying "ME TOO!" during game play.

too-many-pins Skip, do you have a head that is appropriate for this age of pin?

My friend locally who used to own a Dimension said I should be able to use any gottlieb wedgehead, so will keep an eye out for a donor. Also a backglass, which hopefully isn't too hard. There was one in NY recently for $125 in average looking shape. Just said they won't ship.

Check with Mayfair Amusements to see if they have a nos copy.
Check with Shay Arcade Group to see if they might have one or if they will consider making this glass.
Ask Pinsider too-many-pins if he has one
Well you can use a wedge head. There are two styles I believe with some slight variation internally. The glass you can probably source. It's the internal mechanicals and light board that make it tricky. They are unique to the game. Still I wouldn't give up on finding an orphaned Dimension head. It may take some patience but similar pairings have been done before.
Nice pickup, Dimension is a great game. Webb is looking to make a run of the BG if he gets enough interest.

Good luck finding the head.

Maybe you’ll find the original!!!!
I have a 2001 head including relay board. Would be a lot of the parts you need. And you wouldn't need to paint the head. The simplest approach to reproducing it would be to get an actual Dimension head and copy the harness from it. I have a friend that did this with a Gold Strike. He started with just the head relay board and the playfield. He then bought another Gold Strike and copied the main relay board and then captured head and body cabinets and backglass and all the other missing part. A single player head would be so much easier to reproduce.
Let me know if you are interested in my 2001 head.

According to ipdb it looks like there were 2 other game based on Dimension:
'Dimension', its export version 'Galaxie', and the replay version '2001',
I'm not familiar enough with EMs to know what would differ in a reply version (2001) and add-a-ball (Dimension). But, if MikeO has the 2001 head, that'd be a huge start!

Awesome, thanks for the heads up! I did check the other sites bluespin mentioned; but they didn't look like they had anything. I emailed Webb regarding getting on a list for the repro run.

I'll send a you pm, but yes, I'd be interested. With the possible run of the backglass, I think that head would provide most of what I'd need. It looks like 2001 only uses 4 score reels, and dimension has 5; so I'd have to source (pbresource?) one of those. Hopefully there isn't much else difference wise.
Finally got another one of these. Missed it when I sold around 2 years ago. HUO and 478 plays. Hardly a dimple

Let the modding begin. Found a speakerlightkit I had lying aroundfrom before. Some nice Tilt Graphics speaker panel and side blades from Jose. Really lifts that boring black speaker panel. Shooter rod from mikeincali great stuff. I will get around to the undercab lighting from @rock914. Thanks again Chris. Lastly some very nice stuff from Robert HOOKED that it is the air as we speak.
Oh and managed to track down a 3D Laseriffic topper. One of Joes best. Hope you are going ok Joe. Laseriffic

That is one awesome looking Freddy. Great pickup.
not a pinball but definitely related for the soul purpose of getting games up and down the front steps (14 of them). 1 x Canadian made Power Stair Climbing dolly for $380AUD (brand new this model is $3500 US). Downside is, it is a little heavier than expecting so will remove a few parts and put in storage as don't need for what I need to do to get close to half the weight.

Nice pin Scott! Can't wait to see pics once you have added all the mods.

There will be some differences. The ball count unit for sure..
I'm in N.Y. If you were closer, you could use the head of
the project dimension to compare, which really is what
you'll need. By any slim chance, if you had a Hurdy Gurdy
(or even Central Park) head (glass not needed), I'd trade
you the whole machine..
Getting a 2001 head to work is possible, but without a
Dimension head next to it, it would be a little tricky and
maybe a few other parts needed than may be expected..
Bought this as is from TNT amusements. Needed a really good cleaning and some LEDs added. Thanks Todd for the smoking deal. Working on a cactus canyon next for the collection. PINBALL ROCKS!!!!!
Quoted from Colsond3:So who's the lucky bastard that made out like a bandit and brought this home?
I’m not entirely convinced it was legit.
Quoted from MinusWorlds:I’m not entirely convinced it was legit.
No? It was up in your neck of the woods, at least somewhat. If it was, maybe we will see it for sale here in the next day or two for more than double the price.
Hopefully a flipper didn't get it if the ad was legit, as I definitely would've made a drive and grabbed that for my permanent lineup.

I spoke to him but when I pressed (respectfully) to set up a time he ghosted.
The ad was deleted rather than flagged down.
I was convinced it was real. However, he was probably completely overwhelmed with responses, and maybe even got offers for higher than the asking price.
Quoted from n1teowl:Just picked up this early Stern, Cheetah. It's one of the rarer ones at only 1223 made.
Nice...I'll take it when you're done with it. My daughter has an odd infatuation with her stuffed cheetahs of every size. Or maybe just an infatuation with taking advantage of me...every time she wants something and I say no, she comes back with "but it's for my cheetahs" haha

It was legit. I know who got it but I don't want to steal his thunder so I'll wait for him to post.
Nice grab colson hitting me in my weak spot with the bally ss i know it will have a short shelf life with ya haha!
Well, it was a few weeks ago now but I got this Dr Dude pinball machine that I have been working on fixing up. It is my first machine and I am leaning as I go but so far I have managed to fix:
* A tilt fault that was stopping the game from starting - there was a short circuit due to a bad soldering job.
* The start button didn't work - someone had cut the wires where they connected to the pump tilt.
* The left flipper not working - replaced a capacitor, cleaned and tightened the leaf switch.
* Swapped some wrong and blown fuses.
* Bought and put in bolts and nuts for the head board and play field pivot bolts.
* Cleaned & cleaned & cleaned the machine.
* Touched up some of the artwork - there is a lot more to go.
* Swapped the broken big shot figure for a random figure and have a new 3D printed one on its way in the mail.
I've also tested all the omes for all the solinoids most are around 6 and all are above 4.
I've still got to get the mix master working. I've swaped out a bad diode and NPN transistor on the Triac board but it's still not working.
Let me know what you think. As I said this is my first machine and I'm learning as I go so any advice if welcome.

Nah...this one will be staying for a while. Regretted selling my last one. And Gorgar just left, so this will take its place. Definitely prefer this game. The war of the first talking pins in my house......Bally won.
