You may still need Space Station
Quoted from TallGuy:"Rescued" a Close Encounters EM from an abandoned house today. I'll start a new thread with a few questions as I'll need some help and advice on this one. Could be an interesting project...
Wouldn't that be stealing, technically? One of my other hobbies is "Urban exploration" and one of the key rules to leave everything as-is. But if I ever encounter a pinball machine in need of rescue.....

I love it when deals like that pop up!!!
Quoted from oohlou:Picked up a Flash Gordon for cheap today!
It is, dirty, very faded cabinet, backglass has issues, I cannot get into the backbox yet, and doesn't boot yet
...but it lights up, looks really clean on the underside, the plastics look good, and the playfield is pretty nice except for 1 wear spot. It is going to be a lot of work getting this clean and working but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Oh man, I loved that movie...what a great pin to have!
Love it, but I have to ask for my own edification... Is that a Ford Edge. Can I actually fit a pin in it?
Quoted from mark532011:wow! you have a big basement!
Yup. That's the main reason we bought the house. I have 14 pins down there, a home office, a small workshop, a listening area, and a small(ish) home gym. There aren't many houses here with basements, so this was an especially good find.

Congo is on it's way home!
Is it coming from another planet where gravity is reversed?
Quoted from cosmokramer:Is it coming from another planet where gravity is reversed?
Haha I don't know why it did that. I'll fix it
Quoted from indypinhead:Here's my $50 yard sale pin...
Now I just need to find a backglass for it.
It came w/ a nice Alltek CPU board.
With a few minor repairs, the machine is working 100%
Anyone have a Globetrotters backglass for sale?
Dayam that thing is BEA-U-TI-FUL!! That playfield is SICK!
Marco has a used glass "in good condition" for $199. Last glass I bought from them they shipped for $10.
wow, I always wondered if anyone sold pins at a yard sale. they must have 100 per weekend around town in the summer. what a find! nestled in among the $0.25 books and $0.10 kids clothes.
Picked up a new-to-me Gottlieb Totem. Decent condition System 1 game, has a nice playfield and excellent backglass. I think Gottlieb was on to something with the double door arrangement where the backglass doesn't need to come out all the time. Cabinet is solid but rough, mainly with chunks of corners missing that will need to be built-up if I decide to redo it. She functions perfectly on original System 1 boards, but I'm thinking there's a Pascal in its future.

A guy here used to sell them all the time at his yard sales. Seriously though, I wouldn't really call it a yard sale.....more like an 'outdoor store'. He'd buy games for $100 or less and try to pawn off the non-working crap on others for $500.
I've only seen a couple at real yard sales. Still wished I hadn't passed on the $400 Fathom, but that was back in the early 90's when $400 was expensive and nobody cared about it.

Looks close to you as well.
Quoted from SirScott:Looks close to you as well.
I checked that out. He said he'd sell it for $150, but I think I'll pass. Not only is it missing the plastic trim, it's also missing the steel lift channel.
I offered him $90...but I doubt he'll take it.
It's sitting in an antique mall right now for sale.
Quoted from Blu:Love it, but I have to ask for my own edification... Is that a Ford Edge. Can I actually fit a pin in it?
A Ford Edge will fit a pin (out of box, obviously).

SMH, your going to kick yourself when this is gone. Those pieces missing are no big deal and can be purchased from PBR. And also you would not have to pay shipping, saving you another $60 plus. $150 for a good backglass you can go pick up is a no brainer.
Bally Sea Ray I scored from CL in cincy. Dirty but is cleaning up great. PF is near perfect but BG has flaking and previous owner did bad touch ups. Perfect candidate for Phoebe's magic. Picked up from warehouse next to a self-storage lot. "Breaking Bad" Bounder RV was in the lot and swear to God, the seller had a bald head, thin rim glasses but no Heisenberg mustache or goatee. This is my first game with a chop-top glass, older pre-diamond stainless coin door and Christian Marche artwork. Now I want a Bally Skyrocket !IMG_4956.JPGIMG_4962.JPGIMG_4954.JPG
Quoted from pinmaniac:Picked up a few this weekend. A Popeye that was NIB still has protective plastic on it. An xmen pro and imve. Just over 1000 miles of driving this weekend.image.jpg
Do you like Popeye ?
Quoted from indypinhead:Here's my $50 yard sale pin...
Wow. Nice find. Now, how much were they actually asking for it?
Quoted from woody24:Wow. Nice find. Now, how much were they actually asking for it?
They were asking $100.
The guy says he cleans out abandoned properties for a living. Told me that one of the renters had left it behind. No legs, no PF glass, no backglass.
I told him, I'd give him $50 just for the parts...he didn't argue.
Quoted from ledge:a NIB Popeye ? what the heck.
nice
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:I know for a while, Marco specialties was advertising a NIB Popeye. It's a fun game with a few tweaks.
I got it from Marco, but for WAY less than he was advertising it for.

You got the Sea Ray! Great score - I saw that one on Craig's List and thought that whoever gets it will be really lucky. It looks like it's in great physical shape. Congrats!
1978 Williams Disco Fever. All in all I'd rate it a 7. Backglass is all there but is juat now starting to deteriorate. Cabinet is in very good shape as is the paint. The head is a little rough on top. The boards are perfect even though they were stored with Walgreen's batteries. Playfiled is way better than I thought with a couple tiny wear marks but 99% of the inserts have cupped. Plastics are all there and unbroken. Picked this up for a buddy and fellow pinsider. Great project pin. Hasn't been turned on yet. Banana flippers!IMG_20150803_194046.jpgIMG_20150803_193745.jpgIMG_20150803_193755.jpg
Williams Big Guns--my first System 11. All the electronics appear to be working from a cursory inspection, though it looks like there is an error for the batteries on startup (which I removed, and thankfully the MPU has no battery damage). The cannons work and the wire ramps are intact. The flippers need to be rebuilt. Some wear around the edge of the hole for the ball saver post. The cabinet needs some touch-ups. The art on the translite has pretty much come off along the top 1/2" of the plastic. A bunch of other minor issues that are typical with a lightly routed machine that need attention, but overall, there doesn't look like there are any major problems, so it should look pretty good when it's done.
