Quoted from doompin:Won this guy at an auction 2 weeks ago. I think its super fun. Don't know why it gets a bad rap. I pretty great shape but I'm looking forward to shopping it out.
I'll be in the minority with you!!! I love police force
Oh no!! It's the cops man
Finally found another Genesis. It's a semi working project but I got it local and at a fair price so I'm good wth it. Guess what's wrong with it???? It's a system 80b that resets over and over lol. I love those daughter boards.
Freeplay40 ramp set on the way!! So I'm super pumped about that too. It's a shame I've got two games to go through in front of it. First world problems I know
@jmountjoy111
Funny story, many years ago a Genesis was at a bar location and the
ball was doing a lot of weird things. The ball was jumping all over the place.
Come to find out on closer inspection the last technician to shop the game out
completely tightened the window down below flush with the playfield.
It was so bad that you could not hit the drop targets that were in the center of the playfield.
The ball would jump over them and into the pop bumpers.
Quoted from ryan1234:20 minutes from my house, never thought I would own one!
Nice. They'll be some that will play it straight through for a while.
Can be pretty addicting. It's a nice machine for any Game Room.
Quoted from heryworm:The Jetsons
That looks so cool......for the old big kid at heart. Still love the Jetsons even at 50........
Quoted from heryworm:The Jetsons
What would be really cool would be a Wacky Races pinball with Dasterdly and muttley.
Traded a Silver Strike Bowling for this about two weeks ago and never posted here. It supposedly wouldn't start, but the coin mech wires were disconnected and the player 4 display was dead so I assume they didn't know it wasn't set to free play. Got it all cleaned up and working and just need to get the display and the plastic I'm missing behind the stand ups in front of the pops. If you have one to sell pm me!
Found myself a nice Taxi on the opposite side of France, so I drove a mere 14 hours to get it.
Stored in a garage at the very end of Brittany, for 25 years. The owner's sister had won it in a nightclub...

And after a few days of surf, and 14 other hours of driving, here it is in my workshop.

Game # 2 is Bally '73 Circus. I know, it has boring game play but I played one in my youth and have a nostalgic connection and don't have any space issues. Love the colorful backglass and pinsider Todd let it go super cheap. I am now so backed up with restorations, it's not funny. I am officially in a self (and wife) imposed buying freeze until I move out a couple games...here is to nothing cool coming up for sale local.
450 Mile roundtrip to Cointaker Amusements. Sold my Ghostbusters last night and didn't even give that money a chance to burn a hole in my pocket. Left at 6:30am today and was home at 3:15 with my new TWD Pro.

I picked up this phantom of the opera today. It will soon be featured in either or both of the worst hacks thread or the pinball horrors pics thread.
The good... it will boot up, it has a brand new set of plastics on it, it's a pinball machine, it didn't cost me a fortune.
The bad... three toasted inserts, flaking back glass, some playfield wear outside of the Mylar.
But hey I'm pretty pumped to try and bring it back to life.
Oh and I also scored this sweet 16x20 Mike Tyson autographed picture from the seller. Can't go wrong with a little Punchout!!

That's a great pick up, and I don't know if it's as bad as you think it is. I just posted mine for sale, and now I'm second-guessing whether I want to get rid of it. It's a great game. I had one before this one and sold it, and I did miss it. This game has awesome audio, and a good rule set.
I've seen the double score insert and Phantom face inserts burnt out on a ton of POTO's. Must be a design flaw. And the backglass isn't horrible either...at least you still have the mask on the front of the glass. On a lot of them that is either flaked to hell, or missing altogether. It was an odd choice to screen things on the front of the BG. Great pick up though, and good luck on getting it 100%.
I have some parts and a few extra NOS plastics, so let me know if you need anything as you go through it.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm super pumped about it. I was looking for project games and that is what I got. I will get it all lined out eventually. Probably going to have to get some guidance on replacing those inserts though.
The horror parts I haven't shown yet lol. The solenoid driver section of the mpu is torched and this things comsumed at least two packs of wire nuts in its lifetime. I have a new mpu and don't care a bit to fix all the hacks though so all is good. I appreciate the help

No problem. My buddy Bill redid one that had the burnt inserts, so let me know and I can hook you up with him. He will give you good guidance.
I looked at a game a few weeks ago that had more wire nuts than I could count.

Nice pick up Bob!

They come up multiple times a year. Seem to change hands pretty regularly.

You bought my Circus I was trying to buy. Todd never answered my PM which I sent over a week ago. Now I know what it feels like to get a good ol' kick in the Cannoli's.
Quoted from Flippersaurus:Got a couple more this weekend. The pin count is now in the double digits I feel like I should get a patch or something.
They need work, but happy to have them. I think I'm starting to like "that old pin smell" as much as I like "that new pin smell".
You mean mold and smoke??? Lol. Strangely enough I like it too

No offense, but I have learned in this hobby (and in life) you have to be bold when you see something you want and then be ready to follow through. I saw your post Friday morning and then I replied to his ad via PM. He responded right away and he sold me the game because I paid his asking price and was able to pick it up at his house 24 hours later. It was perfect timing because I was going to Chicago the next morning to pick up Capersville and I would not drive that far for Circus by itself. I hacked my way through numerous buyers when Capersville popped up on CL in Chicago, probably because I offered too much. Persistence.

Agreed. It's really hard to spend time on what seems like tire kickers when an aggressive buyer shows up. And no offense to the guys who negotiate and take their time on deals. You just have to balance that technique with the value of the deal. What I mean is if the deal is great, there's not a moment to spare for negotiation or "problems". A serious regional buyer is on the way ASAP.
No offense Ballypin towards you. But I still have not heard a word from him and to be honest it is just plain manners IMO to answer your PM's even if the machine is sold. True I didn't bid the full amount, but the post was originally from a year ago. If he wanted more (and this is to everyone out here) just ask. The least you could do is say no and I would have come up on my price. Would I buy another pin from him even if it was on my want list? Most likely not because in the end YOUR WORD is all we have. Peace

In all honesty, and im guilty of this, sellers take the path of least resistance. When I get a PM from someone asking me a million questions, and another guy saying he'll take the machine and can pick it up the next day, I'm going with guy #2. I'm in this hobby because it's entertainment - not for additional stress : /
Without questions you may have just bought that "loose wire" pin and found a lawn ornament instead. Heard that from a few pinsiders here. That would be a pinball machine that I would not want seconds on as the person would have to try and recoup their lose on.
I don't mean to keep ragging on about this but his pinside ad HAD a phone number. If he went radio silent on you, you should have called him. When I see a CL listing, I PRAY for a phone number so I can actually TALK to the seller. Cuts out all the crap about emails especially when the deal is not local to me and I want the seller to know I mean business or try to get better pics quick so I can decide if it's for me or not. If you really wanted the game, pick up the phone. I never disclose to the forum with specifics about a game I am contemplating...but I will thank you for the tip.
