How's the tempest? I've had 4 of them, the monitor is always about a 5 hour very tedious project, I usually have to send the tempest board out for repair / new ram I think, awesome score!

I put one of these in my Tempest monitor based on others recommendations, since the monitors have a tendency to fail:

http://www.vector-repair.com/

The LV 2000, haven't had an issue since. It's basically a modern board that replaces a high failure section of Tempest crt's.

ALL Games with this Color Vector monitor need them, it's not a matter of if it needs it unfortunately

#6108 6 years ago

Are most of you guys getting these through auctions?

Quoted from Oilrat:

Bloody great weekend by the looks of it!
Nice pick up and nice collection too!

#6110 6 years ago

Buying and selling has slowed down to nothing this month, I assume normal through the summer? Had one or two possible pickups... but you know how sellers on CL can be unreliable at times.

Item for sale -> ok I'll buy at the listed price -> radio silence.

wth.

Super exclusive ad from the Pinside Marketplace!

Unfortunately not pinball but free is free

The only thing that beats free-is if they PAY you to take it away! That Tempest is a huge score!

Been searching for a nice TZ for a long time. This one was purchased from a vendor in 1996. Before that, it was on location at Alladin's Castle. Its been sitting in this corner ever since. Needs a good shop job and it's ready to go.

Yep... it's like meeting an old friend once again. I sold one a few years ago and have regretted it ever since.
I'm not sure why the image is squished (it's NOT a widebody)

Awesome pin, the AC/DC vault Pro is a great machine, really a Pro Plus. Keep an eye on the lightning bolt LEDs, they work their way out of the socket and onto the playfield in a day......

#6124 6 years ago

Sold my NIB TRON LE and bought a HUO one.. had to wheel it into my walk out basement. Amazing, hardly any plays!

Not quite a pin, but it was harder to fit into the car. It does have balls, and you do shoot them around.
