Quoted from dasvis:

You pay more upfront, but they hold their value & last forever.

I bought it used 10 years ago for 10k as I didn't like the newer and larger style. It's an xtra cab pre-runner. It was at a dealer and the next day their ad for it ran, and the salesman told me he got 100s of calls on it. Probably could sell it for close to that now, but it's not for sale.

Hard to beat the old 22R. The only new vehicle I ever purchased was an '86 4x4, ala Marty McFly. The 2001 is a lot more comfortable to drive.

Quoted from Colsond3:

You bastard LOL. Let me know Ted. Anxiously awaiting word.
And I appreciate that Mopar. An honorable man.

I was just wondering if he had a C37.....

#5903 6 years ago

I'd take the Space Ship if it was on this coast and have it working in a jiffy, but I guess I'll make do with the Beat The Clock for now.

Quoted from spfxted:

No 37, (mostly add-a-balls), but the main thing is to grab it
while you can to keep it in the circle..

#5905 6 years ago
Quoted from Mopar:

Thanks, and if you do happen to end up with it and maybe would like
to make a trade, I'd have interest.. (T)

Definitely, I'll keep it in mind. You got first dibs if I'm getting it and end up moving it at some point.

Just having trouble getting to see the guy. I'm going to try during lunch tomorrow. So you think for the right price I should take it in any condition? I'm not sure what to look for.... You know me....."I couldn't pour piss out of a boot with the instructions on the heel!"

#5907 6 years ago

Condition of the playfield and backglass is most important on an EM that old and rare.

And the day aint over yet....

Brought home a Gottlieb Dragon yesterday. Pic of me as I'm driving away with my new machine. And a pic of the machine soon after I got it on all fours. Back glass looks pretty awesome also. I'm back in the sys 1 club again. Let the repinning start.

As Odiner said and I PM'd earlier, backglass and playfield are most important. Cab can be redone. Mechs can be fixed.

A super cherry Blackwater 100 that looks like it's never been played is the second racing theme haul of the day. In this household, theme certainly matters.

I love having Tuesdays off.

Did Neil even take it out of the crate?? Very Nice

Very jealous.

Take a good look at the plastics too Ted, as reproductions are almost incomprehensible. If you pick it up I'd probably be willing trade a fully working and shopped out Heat Wave. That is what C37 was striving to be.

#5915 6 years ago

New quality repro backglass too. The playfield was plasticoted at the factory so there is little signs of wear..Plastics on this one have held up well too. Do I really need another pinball machine?

congrats! such a great and severely under rated game. Most people never get to play a nice one. Crappy condition ones suck. Nice condition ones rock!

Can I ask what you paid for it in that condition? There is one about 2 hours from me and I've always liked the game and the artwork. Who can't like a hot chick riding a dragon.

This thread can make a man jealous.
Nice score, now were talkng this thing is from the past. How did you fit it in Deloreon to get it back?

Day off and Blackwater! Now that's a great day!

Congratulations!

I will take pix of the backglass, playfield and plastics. If I can get in the machine, I'll take pix of the guts as well.

lol...not even close!

#5924 6 years ago

Great...Looks like it's turned into an old-fashioned CL auction for the Space Ship.

#5925 6 years ago

Ok, just spoke to the guy. I'll be going over at 11:30....I'll keep ya posted and take pix....

That would be half past a monkey's ass, west coast time. Or time to wake up and go to work.

I wish every day was like Tuesday.

So.....how much do you want for it?

#5929 6 years ago

What, did Neil think the theme was getting a little outdated so he sold it?

On the plus side I made it to work 5 minutes late and the first customer of the day was named C. Wang, so the day is certainly starting out with a bang.

I'll take it!

#5934 6 years ago

Looks like most of that grime is on the playfield glass and the backglass looks sweet. I wouldn't offer him a dime under $500. But if you can get it for less, great!

#5935 6 years ago

But there's more to the story.....

#5936 6 years ago
Quoted from spfxted:

What!... Small door, hilly terrain? Buy the pin and you have to take a pool table too. Come on man! Don't keep us in suspense.

#5937 6 years ago

Hey it lights up, what more do you want?

#5938 6 years ago

Plunger and Ball Mover thingy frozen or rusted tight. Can't see in the machine. No keys.

#5939 6 years ago

Ok it's two-fifty then.

#5940 6 years ago

Yeah, this one is gonna be a surprise one way or the other. Either fixable inside or a pile of rusted metal. Crap shoot...

#5941 6 years ago

Colson has first crack and we'll see what happens....

#5942 6 years ago

The screws are all shiny, so maybe so are the internals. I'd flatten those plastics in the hot sun, shop that baby out, and put it on display for all to see.

#5943 6 years ago

Another thing too is it is rare that the pop bumper lettering is still intact after all these years. I think you've found a diamond in somebody's rough.

#5944 6 years ago

That IS a possibility. The plastics look pretty good as well....

#5945 6 years ago

Another key area to check is playfield wear around the pop bumpers. Kinda hard to tell from the pics.

IMG_2302 (resized).JPGIMG_2302 (resized).JPG

#5947 6 years ago

The colors are still there because it was probably in the basement, away from the light, for who knows how long...

#5948 6 years ago

Wiping the glass off would help, but at the same time, you don't want to give the seller the impression he has something special here. Talk it down is always a good strategy.

#5949 6 years ago

Yeah, there's plenty of dirt there to be removed....

Does anybody know where the "what game did you bring home today" thread is? My favorites hyperlink keeps bringing me to some Space Ship EM thread.

Quoted from spfxted:

Colson has first crack and we'll see what happens....

I'll swing by when I go pick it up and we can drill it real quick for the big reveal. Actually, I have a keyring with about 50 random keys I've collected that I take with me when I go get a game. I've only had to actually drill twice in the last few years.
