When I see sheets over games like that I think of my neighbors growing up who had the plastic covers on their couches.
Quoted from MiamiRedSkin:Picked up a decent Meteor this morning. Was surprised to see this sticker on the apron!
That's funny... that sticker has been on at least 5 meteors I've seen

Meteors and Nine Ball both had these stickers applied by the factory when they were manufactured.

That's a really nice looking FT! Congrats on an epic score.
Quoted from jorge5240:Well the computer problem was kind of crazy. If the PC is on its side game works perfectly. When I standing up the PC it doesn't work. Any game is working now.
Mike, Sounds like an old hard drive. Get a SSD drive and you will have no issues.

Glad it's up and running. Nice looking room!

Thanks...he also included a few original sets of some plastics that were cracked down by flippers too. I thought it was really nice play field and cabinet still has colors...and it plays flawlessly so far, so I'm happy with it. Now just need to find a lake cottage to put it in... instead of the basement!!!
Quoted from smacks:Reeled in a Fish Tales today...been a while since I played this.
Nice pick up. Looks like the playfield is in good condition and it has plenty of colour in the cabinet art too.
I love my fishtales! Hope you enjoy yours as much...it's a great game!
This is what I scored today, It's a shame somebody painted the cabinet on this Paul Bunyan but the flawless beautiful back glass makes up for it. and the playfield will turn out beautiful too after it's shopped. no missing paint/art on the playfield and the inserts are nice and flat. The seller said it didn't work and ask me to make an offer. (100 dollar offer over the phone without seeing it)
When I went to take the head off to transport it I noticed one of the jones plugs wasn't plugged into the back box....I got it home....yep! you guessed it....I just bought a nice working pin for $100
Excellent find. I saw one listed a while ago. Poster initially said non working, then changed ad to working. I was tempted as the backglass is pretty neat.
Now you need to make a blue ox topper!
Quoted from Toyguy:Been wanting one of these for awhile. Finally found a decent one not too far away.
I just got mine back running less than an hour ago thanks to a very helpful pinsider.one of the best values in pinball in my opinion.

Good use of pool noodles there.
Two and a half years ago when I bought my first machine, I never thought I would own two of the same thing.
My second machine was a 1968 Bally Safari that I fell in love with at PAPA. I was thrilled a few months later when I was actually able to find one, since there was so little information on them.
I've wanted to send out the backglass to have it restored (it has a little flaking), but I was scared something would happen. Then on Sunday, DangerSem sent me a text saying he spotted one on OfferUp about 2 hours from my house.
I contacted the guy and offered him exactly what he wanted ($300). It was described as needing work. I really didn't care what it needed as long as the backglass was intact and wasn't destroyed. It looked good based the only blurry picture he posted, but I didn't want to waste time asking for more information.
I figured as long as the backglass was good, anything else was gravy.
We got there yesterday and I was thrilled with the condition of the back glass. I didn't even bother to turn on the machine until I got home. The PF has a good bit of wear and is pretty dirty. Plastics look decent except for one that someone when postal on with tape and hot glue. Cabinet is a mess. Someone painted the front third of the cabinet with black paint and then painted one side in tan. I have no clue what they were thinking.
There is a switch under the cabinet to turn it on (which isn't supposed to be there), a normal game start button on the door, and a button to the left of the door someone installed to add credits (I have no clue what that's for).
It definitely has some electrical issues that I'll need to try and figure out. I don't know anything about EMs.
Either way, I think it will be a fun project.
Sorry for the long post, so onto the pictures!
Quoted from spfxted:Is this worth checking out??
Yep!
Right up there with Star Jet.
Sci Fi theme - Check.
Last Williams with lit Scoring - Check.
Hard to play, very challenging - Check.

I guess it can't hurt. It's about 4 minutes from my house. I don't know if it works either. I would have to hire someone to fix it. Maybe if I can get it REAL cheap, someone would want it.....

Cool game and good back story.

Grab it Ted, I'll take it. And I'll leave those instruction cards.

And if you would be interested in trading it, I would be interested..

Where are you from? And what do you have?
I don't want to take anything away from Colsond, I was responding to him,
but I'm from Newark, N.Y. (within' reach), and I have a bunch of Wedge Heads
and others. Unless they're asking a crazy price, you should pick the Spaceship
up. It would be nice to know it's condition, but maybe I'd shop out a machine
in trade for the Spaceship.. (T)
Also have many Ball Bowlers, but that would take a little more than Spaceship..
When you've given up looking for certain titles because they seem unobtainable, and out of the blue a friend two states away says he'll send you one he just acquired and the price is real good, chances are you won't mind that it's been painted pink and has a less than colorful backglass. It's a starting point anyway. Only single player EM with multiball.
Quoted from o-din:it still gets me to LA and back whenever necessary.
Surely not a Fun House, but I'm thinking a Williams.. (T)
The cabinet looks real nice too...judging from the dried out rubbers on the game its most likely been sitting dormant for 25 plus years.
That game is going to come out great.Real nice find.
Congrats on the Beat the Clock pick-up Odin! I love mine, but don't have much (any) experience with the other reverse Wedge Heads. I'm interested in hearing what you think about it once you get it up and going.
Brad
ps: My pin-hauler has 228,000 miles on it - kinda makes the ride home even sweeter.

Thanks! Most of the reverse wedgeheads are very challenging to play.
From what I can tell, unlike the Bally EMs with multiball, Beat the Clock counts even the locked balls as balls you have played. It sure has a real neat layout and art package. I'll get it at least up and playing before you know it. Full resto will start after I secure a nicer backglass.
Quoted from spfxted:Where are you from? And what do you have?
You bastard LOL. Let me know Ted. Anxiously awaiting word.
And I appreciate that Mopar. An honorable man.

Thanks, and if you do happen to end up with it and maybe would like
to make a trade, I'd have interest.. (T)
Quoted from o-din:180,000 miles on the old Tacoma, and it still gets me to LA and back whenever necessary.
Bah, low miler you got there - my old '93 Toyota 4x4 just rolled 300,000 & still going strong.

It's a 2001 and I plan on keeping it forever. 3.4 is the best V-6 they ever made.
I like it so much I bought factory replacement seat covers and foam while they were still available as that is the only thing that's gonna wear out on this truck.

+1 Toyotas rule. You pay more upfront, but they hold their value & last forever.
Been looking at replacing mine with a new Tacoma for the last few years, but it's hard to let go of the old reliable 22RE.
I had an '83 22R 4x4 before the '93 - I really liked the body style, but I needed more room in the cab.
