You lucky bastard! That's a nice haul.

Quoted from PAPPYBALL:

Did you have to go down stairs with it? I have to move mine and am considering taking the monitor out to move it. I think that will cut a ton of the weight, that and moving the seat separate, that thing weighs more than it looks!

No stairs. To make it easier, when I pulled it out of the Minivan, I temporarily screwed a HF furniture dolly to the bottom before standing it up. That allowed me to move it vertically, so I didn't have to tip it onto its wheels. That is when the load gets dangerous to move alone. Once in the room, I laid it down on its side, removed the dolly and than stood it back up again. It was not easy, but certainly doable. Im no bodybuilder, but also no weakling. Keep in mind, they are top heavy.

ARE YOU EFFIN' KIDDING ME!!!!???

You have got to elaborate on that haul.

#5458 2 years ago

My guess is he's just hauling his collection from one place to another.

Edit- the stickers on all the coin doors makes me think an arcade went out of business.

#5459 2 years ago

Right place at the right time? Dream score for most of us. Amazing

#5460 2 years ago
Quoted from dmieczko:

Good haul today!

"Good" is a subjective term...without knowing roughly what you paid there's no way to know if it was a good haul or not. There's no denying that you got a group of nice, desirable titles, but whether it was a "good" haul or not will depend on the price. If you paid $100,000 for the 10 games then you got a lot of nice titles but paid too much. If you got all the games for $10,000 then yes, it was a "good" haul and you're one lucky son of a gun.

Quoted from dmieczko:

Good haul today!

This is results of having immediate access to $20k-$25k. I have been in this situation before. Right place and right time and enough cash.

My suggestion to the buyer is to immediately sell off the titles he does not want, recover his investment, rebuild his bank and wait for the next score. And enjoy the 3-4 machies he has left over in the end.

#5462 2 years ago

How do you even? Where? Who?? I can't find even one of those locally, much less 10! I hate you.

Well, now we have a complete list of what was on that truck.......

My nephew (tjc02002) and I went in on the deal 50/50. All the games need a good cleaning & shop-job, and some need minor work. The arcade was looking to sell all their old pinball machines and replace them with newer games that could earn more $$ per day. If you can't tell from the truck pictures, the titles are Theatre of Magic, Addams Family, Attack from Mars, Terminator 2, Funhouse, Cyclone, Comet, and Sterns - Simpson's Pinball Party, Elvis, and Ripley's. It will be fun going through these over the next few months!

Just took home the original Game Plan factory prototype of Andromeda! It's on a Whitewood playfield, with notes from the designers. It's in a Captain Hook cabinet, s/n 5375. The back glass is pristine! The Pinside game catalog has a photo of it - it's the Whitewood. I'm hauling it home now, may post more pics later.

from the sounds of it, you guys got one hell of a deal on all those games!!! Glad to hear the arcade is just updating their collection. Seem to see that often when techs cant keep them all running.

I think your reading that wrong, there getting rid of the pinball machines in favor of other types ofmachines like redemption machines and things like that that will make more money$$$ .. (or I'm reading it wrong)

You're both right and wrong I think. They are definitely going to favor other types of machines, but will most likely put a couple new pinball machines in there as well, which will hopefully be more reliable. My guess is they will put 2 or 3 pinball machines in there versus the 10 we pulled out. Time will tell.

Should you decide to replace those drop targets I'd be interested in them.

This is very cool. I think things like these offer so much conversation and history.

Nice catch!

Nice catch!

Thanks! I feel very fortunate to become the new "curator" of this historical machine. The last owner hadn't done any maintenance or repairs for over 10 years, so there is some work to be done. It would be epic if someday I could get Paul Faris, the art designer to actually sign it! His signature is already on the backglass, but I'm pretty sure it was silk screened onto all the back glasses. Ed Cebula, game designer, passed in 2007, and Mike Kubin, the other game designer, passed in 2014, so a I'm little late for their signatures.

Quoted from RonSS:

I own a Sharpshooter.

This machine is staying in one piece. The Sharpshooter targets are part of the history of the machine, and the prototyping process at Game Plan in 1985, their last year of existence.

You see Bally pin titles with 20,000 unit runs, whereas most Game Plan models sold 500 units or less! It's clear why their games are extremely rare these days. I want to see this small piece of Game Plan history preserved for pinball enthusiasts present and future.

Mystery zipper flipper game. Always a good day to take off work and make a road trip. Headed through heavy rain... the reveal will be later today.

Went to go look at an old Gottlieb Vulcan today.....The playfield condition told me to load it up.
It's missing one of the plastics behind the left drop targets.
