Highly uncommon, borderline rare game now, Bazaar (Bally, 1966).

Great example of knowing what to look for in a pinball project as a proper "diamond in the rough" and step up an owner's restoration challenges. Never let a dusty or dirty game dissuade a collector from finding hidden gems.
Even in the current condition, the game does work.

A gracious private acquisition by a fellow collector out of storage.

Bazaar was the FIRST EM pinball game with the "zipper flipper" feature designed by Ted Zale and in my opinion one of the harder games to find in "TBK" game quality standards. Last of Mr. Zale's designed games on my hit list.

Game is currently awaiting reproduction backglass remanufacture from a NOS scan to swap out the original which is above window pane quality, just don't breath on it. Backglasses of this age are always a weak link in the chain.

Playfield is outstanding with no major ball wear, planking, ball swirls, broken plastics, missing parts or assembly problems especially for a game that is over 51 years old.

Cabinet requires a complete restencil repaint due to previous owner doing the work via hand and paint brush, and it looks like a kindergarten kid went crazy with a crayon. Side rails were removed for photos. However, the cabinet is physically solid with a very nice coin door and side rails that are not dented, and the cabinet itself not delaminating or rotting. Unfortunately, there is no way I can fix what was done regarding the painting without a full orbital sanding the cabinet. I will have to make the stencils myself, as none currently exist in the market and must do it from scratch. The design is quite simple.

Reminds me a lot of Grand Tour.

A couple of great guys, Ron and Mark, went above and beyond expectations, and delivered this beauty to us yesterday morning all the way from Pennsylvania! We are really excited to add Viper Night Drivin' to our collection, especially since it is automotive themed! Thanks guys!!!

Baby Pac-man. What a bizarre game. I loved it the first time I played it nearly 35 years ago.

It's in good shape and came with an Alltek MPU board. Playfield is very clean and missing no artwork. I'm going to consider LEDs for it because currently it runs hotter than that Simpsons sitting next to it.

Don't need a lot of shots of it because people know it pretty well.

Picked up my first ever pin last weekend. Game Plan Sharpshooter.

The PO is a terrific guy and gave me what I feel was a great deal. Also threw in nearly all of his left over supply of "stuff".

Fit quite nicely in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee!

Of course it was raining, but hey, can't have it all.

I'm looking forward to this hobby. Is it wrong to be looking for other deals already?

This game is awesome, and I don't expect it going anywhere for a long, long time.

First machine a Game Plan? That's a pretty bold venture there. But when they are working, they are working....

Congrats!

Met looks awesome in that corner with all the accoutrements!! But I was trying to figure out what you meant by "alas"... are you really sad about acquiring it?

Nice pick up. I love playing my mates Spiderman.

On a side note.....your Addams Family looks like it's in great condition!

i wouldn't be surprised if a SM comes home with me someday.

I finally found one of these locally..... South Park is the last of the game buying for now. The big Konami cab in the back is a Track & Field I picked up from Pinball Wizard but has a bad monitor in it (that will eventually go up to the game room once I replace the screen)

south_park_folded (resized).jpg

#5167 2 years ago

Wow, Track and Field! We used to play the next iteration of that Konami game ('88 Games). My fingers are still numb from repeatedly pounding those buttons!

#5168 2 years ago

The Track & Field with the track ball is even worse. I get blisters on my finger tips from the friction of the control panel!

#5169 2 years ago

Gottlieb Batter Up - Ads a Ball. Hopefully coming to pintastic in July.

Another TX-Sector in the neighborhood, nice! Congrats on your pickup.

That cabinet looks really good underneath the sticker, better than mine! Can we have a peek at the playfield?

Welcome to the hobby. It is wrong, but everybody does it. Sometimes I'm perusing CL or Pinside before I leave the seller's house...while I'm still in the driveway (just in case I come across a good deal "on the way home"). This hobby is an illness...start medicating.

Call 1-800-PINBALL. It's a support group that I started that focuses on sporadic and overzealous pinball buying.

Truer words have never been spoken, Colson hit the nail on the head.

Bought my second pin 22 days after my first. Couldn't even make it a month. You are not alone haha.

I started 3 months ago, 14 pins.

Holy crap. That's a seriously impressive 3 months. How do you get them?

Looks promising! Is this the one that was on marktplaats, with the strange black translite?

#5183 2 years ago
Quoted from jsa:

Craigslist, local forum, word of mouth and in one case arcade close out sale.

#5184 2 years ago

It's addicting. Fortunately I don't have the space or the money for more than two at a time. But I'm always checking CL and apps in case something comes up and think I'll buy it and sell one of mine off. Realized my wife is expecting that when I told her I had lunch at a pizza place today and played some pinball. She looked right at me and said, "Is it in the garage?".

Yes, that's the one! don't like the backglass anyway, going to create my own "unfaded" version of the original translite.

I figured this was going to be an addictive hobby judging by threads showing basement arcades and discussion of divorce!

Glad I'm not alone.

That's impressive, and frightening at the same time.

I have still been scouring CLIST every morning. ..... and night. You know, just in case someone is selling for pennies on the dollar.

I've only got room for 1 though, ok probably 2. Yeah, I could definitely fit 2, maybe 3 if ......

#5189 2 years ago

Same scenario here. Only room for one pin but I am constantly (and illogically) looking for another...

Most of the left side of the playfield is very similar to GTB Sky Jump.

Congrats on the new pin.

For me (1pin) it typically goes like this:

1st week "It's a keeper!"

2nd week "pretty sure it's a keeper

3th week "Not sure it's a keeper"

4th week "where can i sell this one, to buy a new one"

Buy one of the top 20 pins. You won't feel this way! In EM or SS!
