pinballholder Can you post some pictures to the game section of the site? There is only one picture now. Also any rule set information that you can add. Great rare find! Congratulations.
John

Yeah, hope to have it up and running in a week or so and will be happy to share. I have original manual and rule cards

Over the course of about a month, I ended up picking up all of these games and had them in storage in Chicago. This weekend, I rented a 6x12 trailer, and packed it tight with 8 machines. About 3 weeks ago I picked up a HUO NGG, TSPP x2, LOTR, and just this last weekend I picked up an original MM, Scared Stiff, Theatre of Magic, and Addams Family. I am tapped out physically, and especially, financially!!!

When I picked up B/W collection, we realized the staircase going up from the basement was way too tight to fit a game up. There are firsts for everything, and this time was hauling machines through a window....

That's a very nice group of machines!

They say half the fun is the find and getting them home but i know from experience that when you have to try and squeeze machines out through windows like this, it's a bit stressful. Bet you were relieved to finally get them loaded up!

Haven't posted a new acquisition in this thread in a good while...

I bought a dead Hulk (but really nice cosmetically), and I spent all day Friday working on it at Pinfest, got it out on the free play floor where it flipped all day Saturday, and brought it home.

Real glass on that one or a translite?

#5063 2 years ago

Me & my last pick up of Saturday. A very nice Hyperball from Williams.
I’ve just started to clean the cabinet… externally very clean and beautiful (it seems new…), internally worst than a grave

Nice, un-faded, un-flaky backglass! Playfield is in great shape too! Very lucky.

Looking forward to updating with the seymourshabow rom. Fun, Harry Williams game.

The owner didn't know the glass came out so it hasn't been cleaned or had the rubbers replaced in 30+ years:

OK I got it home and set it up. Needs new rubbers but plays great. Playfield was updated to an nos ones few years back. Backglass is near perfect. I never thought I'd own a Gottlieb Eclipse. I'm glad I have something of his to remember Steve Charland. IMAG0037 (resized).jpg

I know a guy in Costa Rica that dabbles in pinball. Last year I bought a very rough funhouse from him for $300. Very, very rough but salvageable. Two weeks ago he sends me a message that floored me. It simply said "my friend has an addams family for sale. He wants $2200. Well this weekend I took the 13hr (each way) drive across two countries to retrieve my prize. We settled on $2100 and loaded it up. I'm so very excited. It's in great shape for traveling the world. It's a German import that ended up in central america. Topper in tact, complete machine, all original and working with a bunch of switch errors.
I'm still in shock. The price was epic and it found me. It's all down hill from here. I'll never top this deal

In all likelihood, you won't. That is less than half the price...great find though and enjoy! Gotta love TAF.

And my favorite part of the story is that he still haggled the seller down another $100. Wow... it's just in some peoples blood that they can NEVER pay asking price. Ha.

Guilty as charged
It is in my blood but I also didn't have the whole $2200 on me. I did when I left but I was $40 short when I got there. I didn't feel like going back out to the ATM so I haggled. These machines are worth very little in many countries. Little interest from locals and parts being impossible to get for 99% of the population plus the climate beats these machines up. Most places don't have ac, just open windows/walls. It's hard to find salvagable machines here but when you do the locals are happy to get some US currency for it. The Harley behind TAF I found here in Panama for $700. It's in great shape.

I know where there's a POTC sitting on location and barley working. This old local guy owns it and is not ready sell.....yet. I will buy it before heading back stateside. Otherwise it will soon be abandoned junk. Thinking of taking him a really nice restored pinbot or the Harley and seeing if he will trade. Pirates is worth more than either. And more fun.

Bought a Comet for the work break room earlier this month from the Ohio Pinball Show. Bought this one over the weekend for my wife. Got it running and a bunch of parts are on order.

I just played a game on my Tron LE and had 2 shots left with LC multiball to get to portal. Missed. Then managed to restart it after SOS. Missed again!

But what a rush. It's probably my favorite pin now.
