Quoted from Hazoff:Joke pins, MM, MB, CV the bad humour gets old so fast, I bought a Scared Stiff and sold it in a week not that the gameplay was bad but the jokes were awful.
The question was not most over priced.
Quoted from pinkid:Shrek and Mustang...........
Shrek is an awesome pin...and my first thoughts about a new mustang pin were "who would buy this title? ,not me "
But I took a risk and bought one now i cant stop plying it its such a cool game .....you should try it ....
For me it isn't so much the theme as it is how well the theme has been implemented.
For example, I can't stand the show but I really love the Doctor Who pinball.
Woz is 2nd on my list after shrek.
That sounds troll like, but i would place woz as number one best pin all time atm.
If i would love that theme, it would be the best pin ever without a doubt.. Just because its next gen. A bit a contradiction, cause i hate/dislike the theme, but you cant deny that games' class.
Quoted from Rabscuttle:KISS
(and mind you, I like some of their songs, and LOVE Detroit Rock City, but the reality shows they did in later days totally ruined it for me)
Have seen you around in a long time, and when I do you post my exact answer.
EDIT: Except for liking any of their shitty songs at all.
Quoted from jibmums:Country music pins, which pretty much just comes down to Dolly Parton.
Oh wait, Roy Clark too.
Road Show fall into that category?
Quoted from whisper:same here..
Its funny how different we are, but love the same game. When I started my collection, it was going to be nothing but horror themes. After buying TFTC, BSD, MS Frankenstein,& Nightmare on Elm St. I realize they all suck,& rethought my idea. I love horror movies, but found out quickly that the pins aren't as good!! Recently I've found that the music theme pins are what I've been looking for & haven't looked back!! May sell my others because they don't get played anymore, but who knows. This hobby is actually pretty stupid when you think about it.

Road Show?

I tried to stick to horror themes for a long time, but it is difficult. Many of the best themes are just not great games for a home use environment. There's really not much to pick from as there were only a handful of horror theme games in the 90's and absolutely none after that. I haven't abandoned the concept, but I have had to widen the scope to include B-movie, Sci-fi, or pretty much anything with skulls, coffins, monsters, etc. on it. I'm glad Spooky Pinball is bringing horror themes back for the first time in over 15 years.
My least favorite theme is probably Road Show. It's like fingernails on the chalkboard for me.

Quoted from Pinballrus:WOZ is just awful as a theme
Funny how people mention they dont like certain B/W and Stern themes and almost no thumbs down but when WoZ gets mentioned the floodgates open up.
The ones that are not made yet because there not ever going to be made if you know what I mean. Also any boring movies from today's era.
I hate any IP that has already been over merchandised... The best example being Simpsons. Also South Park, Famiy Guy, Kiss. Speaking of kiss, I also hate the idea of Ac/Dc and Metallica , both music I enjoy as little as I do Kiss. Seriously, there aren't any actual Kiss fans are there?
I digress, Simpsons merch seems so cheap and over hocked that I couldn't stand to put a pin like that in my home. A pin is a piece of art and I wouldn't be caught dead with a family guy or South Park poster in my house.
Quoted from robbiedoo:Seriously, there aren't any actual Kiss fans are there?
Nope, over 1 Billion dollars in KISS merchandise has sold itself.

People who hate kiss buy it.
personally dont like the wizard of oz theme. also any clown theme. what i dont get is how people give it a "disagree". its an opinion. you cant disagree that i dont like the theme. chill out people! lol
Quoted from centerflank:Funny how people mention they dont like certain B/W and Stern themes and almost no thumbs down but when WoZ gets mentioned the floodgates open up.
Same with MM... I personally cant stand the game and don't get the hype... But, if you say so, look out.
The majority of licensed Stern themes from 2001 to 2011. So many great games in unfortunately shitty wrappers.
Anything with clowns or a circus where they are trying to be legit. I didn't mind CV or Cyclone as they had a bit more of a twisted/bizarre take on the theme though. Hurricane had a cool evil clown rollercoaster, but then a playfield full of just annoying regular old clowns... all displaying a strange amount of crotch. Circus music is also terrible, another area where CV sort of dodged another bullet by having some cool tunes.

Wow, there are actual"douche bags"that play pinball. This guy has missed out on what could be the best games ever produced & you'll never know!! What's a good game to you? I'm guessing TRS, or maybe Captain Fantastic?
Quoted from Breadfan:Wow, there are actual"douche bags"that play pinball....
Sorry I came off that way... this topic asked about themes that people dislike and I stated what themes I dislike, I guess I did it wrong.
My dislike for kiss has something to do with the amount of selling out they do at every opportunity. As said above, 1 billion dollars in merch.
Kiss were just slightly before my time, and I have heard a few of their songs that are alright, but for the most part I know the brand as a collection of things you could buy a Spencer gifts. Pair that with Gene Simmons reality TV appearances, and that's 90% of my exposure with Kiss. So it was a real question, I wasn't sure if there actually is a big Kiss following or just a band from yesterday trying to squeeze another penny out of their fans. I'm not trying to start any arguments, that's really how I perceived the bands image. I guess there is more to them.
But there's no need to go on the offense, and no need to insult people or insinuate that someone's tastes are worse than yours because they prefer different themes. And I definitely don't want to get into a "Oh, yeah? Well what do YOU like?" type argument.
I can pretty much get over any theme as long as it's a good game... People love Judge Dredd... I just never can connect with the game play no matter how hard I try.

Quoted from snyper2099:Themes don't matter. Only pinball matters. Themes have nothing to do with good pinball.
Sorry but you are wrong on this point, theme is very important in pinball. If they made carebears pinball no matter how great the layout and flow is I would not be interested. WOZ is a prime example, not a bad playing pin but the theme is awful, CFTBL and SS same thing. I owned a Robocop for around a year and the gameplay wasn`t all that good yet I enjoyed as its one of my favorite movies.
Man look at the thumbs down for WOZ... Didn't see anyone complaining of the machine, just the theme. Let's face it, when it was announced, YOU just like everyone else went
Despite liking DM, I think it may be the worst theme, especially given it's an action movie. The reason not only being because the movie was shite, but because there are virtually no signature "things" that you can do any artwork for. This is the reason there are no good alt's for it, no one can think of anything to put on it instead of the actors.
The look is bland all in all. I would like a total Las Vegas'ish retheming for it.
Band themes. To me, the easiest cop-out in the world for a theme. The machines may be good but I think they would be more interesting with a more original theme.

How can an opinion be "wrong". You may need to look up "opinion" in the dictionary. Theme doesn't matter to me and that's that. Now, does it matter when making a sell-able pinball machine that most people want to play? Well of course it does, just as you suggested.
The topic is "Your most disliked pinball theme"... my answer remains, "There is no such thing for me because theme does not matter to ME."
Movie/TV-based themes with cheap Photoshopped "artwork" - nothing feels like it will get stale faster than that to me
Examples:
The Shadow: decent gameplay, but just cant get past looking at stupid Baldwin...
Johnny Mnemonic: same as above
Quoted from Grinder901:Just proud that Iron Man wasnt specifically mentioned on anyone's list.
Iron Man
For me, most disliked theme ever has to be "Good Morning America."
Even if it is based on Family Guy. Glad the made just one (Sorry Pat L).
Any sports themes do nothing for me and most Music theme pins are not my Favorite either, the only one I like in that category is Guns and Roses. I also cant stand TftC with that Screaming at me the entire time, I loved the game play but after 2 years in the collection im glad I traded it for ToM.

The screaming does not bug me at all. Tired of hearing about it. All games make noises we don't like. Always play with volume down and your own music in the background.
