Recently, someone open a thread about how does one afford their pins. Quite a few answered that they were not married and had no kids. Others were married with children.

So, I am curious on how many pinside pin owners clock out in each group.

It is the usual job application type questions

    1) Single. Never married..............this is me. I just never got around to getting married.

    2) Single. Divorced.

    3) Single. Widow or widower.

    3) Married.

    4) Married twice.

    5) Married thrice.

    6) Children at home.

    7) Children. Grown and gone.

If there are any I missed I guess I can more to the poll.

I am going to try and add a poll.\

EDIT: Well, forget the how many pins do you own question. I can edit my post but I don't know how to edit the poll. I guess better luck next time.

Lol... These threads are great. I think ultimately it's not so much what you do, your marital status, how many kids or any of that. You just have to want something bad enough to make it happen. In this case, it's pinball. For the record, I got married once and still am, been together almost 14 years or so. 4 kids, with one on the way. Currently 7 pins, a puck bowler, fooseball and megatouch. I have had 15-20 pinball machines come, stay or go over the past 5 years.

Married once and divorced after 7 years thanks to her two adult daughters that ruined our marriage. Marriage is a great thing as long as you have a good partner. I fully recommend it truthfully.

P.S. Key words "as long as you have a good partner."

If I'm married and have kids at home, which option should I choose? And what does a vote for "How many pins in your collection" mean?

    #5 4 years ago

    Martial status?

    #6 4 years ago

Where are your troops and can I count them?

    #8 4 years ago

Married. Somehow 49 pins and I’m stopping MYSELF on more

Married. No Kids. Two Dogs. Multiple Pins.

This feels like the Pinside version of those stickers you see on the back of people's car windows. . .

Single and ready to mingle. Oh Yeah. Use to have 20 or so pins at any given time but that has matured into a few with regular changes. Like video games seems in just the last few years things have cooled off quite a bit. Still play pinball but the obsession is gone, I kinda miss it. Anyway 45, I have coin and no plans to ever get hitched, kids aren't for me. Well I have been considering adopting this 18 year old Vietnamese girl, I just want to help thats my nature.

    #15 4 years ago

Divorced/9 pins............man I thought maybe I was getting too many pins - but this thread is inspiring with the number some of
you have - maybe time to start thinking about an addition as I am quickly running out of room

    #22 4 years ago

Single and never married here. No children that I know of (I don't want to jinx anything). I thought I had found 'the one' but she turned out to be a big mistake on my part, unfortunately. I have 4 pins, one on the way, and plans for more. If I can find that special lady out there, I'll make it work and still get more pins, because, well, that's life.

    #23 4 years ago

3 pins. 3rd and final marriage. 3rd time was the charm.

    Congrats!

    #25 4 years ago

Married for 3rd and last time. 3 pins also. Probably won't get more than 3 (not enough room!) but might rotate the 3rd one pretty frequently.

    #26 4 years ago

Married, 3 young daughters and 3 pinball machines (so far).

    #27 4 years ago

Married 10yrs have 3 kids and 4 pins. Have a mortgage on my house bacause previous owner said the money tree in back yard was ready to sprout. Been in the house 7yrs and watered that thing daily but alas no money has sprouted. Still holding out hope but starting to thing I got duped!

    #28 4 years ago

Thanks...I should add that the pin I'm getting costs as much as 2-3 pins, haha, so it's like I should have more.

    #29 4 years ago

I have 3 wives and 7 kids. Two wives know each other, but the
third wife is on the west coast... I see her three times a month on
business trips. Fairly sure all of the kids are mine. Although one
of them looks a lot like my neighbor.

I don’t own any pinball machines.

    #30 4 years ago

    2009: married, 3 pins

My wife is awesome and my best friend we met in freshman English high school.

    #34 4 years ago

Married 32 years. One child in grad school. Got my first game in 1982. I had 52 pins at my height, have settled at around a dozen for the past ten years. Honestly, I don’t miss having all of the games. I enjoy the ones I have more now. I spent too much time just keeping them all working properly.

    #35 4 years ago

My "martial" status is currently Defcon 3, all war fronts are quiet, and my troops are at rest enjoying my 13 (soon to be
14 when I get a Willy Wonka...) pinball machines. I may declare war on lazy grammar at some point.

    #39 4 years ago

Never married, 11 pins, 12th on the way

    #40 4 years ago

Married for 9 years, 3 kids, 4 pins - soon to be 5. Have had a dozen or so other pins come in and out over the last few years. Love working on them as much as playing. I don’t have room for more than probably 6.
