Pinbot should be a honorable mention. Not my favorite, but it's fun. Cool art, playfield, rules, sounds, topper

    Quoted from LTG:

    Capcom Breakshot.
A lot of pin for the money.
    LTG : )

Definitely Breakshot. Still see them for under 2k. The only DMD that seems totally overlooked.

Lethal Weapon 3 is PACKED for the price. It’s got everything you’d want in a pin. So strange it gets no love!

The big Gibson mug shot did not age well.

Also sometimes despite later code fixes, the original code is what people remember. This can be annoying repetitive callouts etc.

So many modern sterns under 6k but if you mean real value pins then NASCAR all the way.

    World Poker Tour

Alien Poker is a really good game for the money. Gets my vote

    #67 1 year ago

If I had $6,000 to spend on a pin I would be hunting a Star Trek Pro all day long! Cheers.

A few have popped up recently in the 4's. That's a damn good deal.

    Tales From The Crypt

No question about it. It's The most complete pin under 6K. Luckily it's a DE, otherwise it'd be a 10K game.
I wish I would have held on to mine.

    #72 1 year ago

SM has been straddling that line but looks like it's over the tipping point these days.

Yah here and fbm. Its a lot of game and great shots and flow. Non pinheads like it for the track, pinheads stay for the deep mode vsriety, stacking strategies and two wizard modes.

    I really love the plunge.

There really aren’t any value games any more. The market is truer to games’ “real” value than ever.

10 years ago eveyrthing was way underpriced and nobody appreciated it.

So it’s not really about value any more, it’s about what you want to spend or buy.

Is a $2500 stars a good value? No. But if you want to only spend $2500 it’s a pretty good choice.

I always wanted to park one next to my I500, but that 4k is already spent on PF.

    Quoted from swf127:

What is your favorite pin that currently sells for $6000 or less?

$6K is the cap for value. Oh boy.

    #79 1 year ago

Jack•Bot might be the best value around 4k. Casino Run is the biggest thrill you'll find in that price range. And most seem to be in pretty good condition - it wasn't popular enough to stay on location very long.

I picked up a LW3 recently for around 3k Canadian. First thought it would be here for a week and was already thinking of games to trade for before I even got it home. After shopping it out and adding a color display, it is surprising good. Actually probably one of the best color dmd games. The attract mode alone has better dots then lots of full games. Bonus the wife likes it also. Definitely isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Will check out Chads code. Only downside is having that scumbags face front and center. I'm already planning on making a alternate translite if I don't put it out on route. I think it will be a good earner

Love Breakshot as well for value pins (<4k cdn) Shoots great and awesome annimations. I didn't have a cdmd when I had one but if/when I get another breakshot, it will be a day 1 purchase

    #82 1 year ago

Baywatch. Huge bang for the buck.

    #83 1 year ago

The best value is any broken EM.
Fix it for $100 or less.
Then play it over and over again.
A $200 Time Zone is certainly the most pinball fun I’ve had for the fewest $.

    Bally/Williams: Shadow, BSD, Whirlwind
Data East: Tales from the Crypt, with the latest code
    Stern: Star Trek Pro, Spider-Man

Again, we are aiming high on this list. Many of the games you mention are going to be fairly rough if they're sub 6k. If most of the games you mentioned were in NICE shape, you better bring more money with you.

    #86 1 year ago

As others have mentioned, late EMs for sure. You can get 4 great titles combined for 6K or less such as Royal Flush, Grand Prix, Hot Tip, and Mars Trek.

    #87 1 year ago

    Ultraman

    #88 1 year ago

High Speed, shadow, getaway, whirlwind, star trek pro, Indy 500

    #89 1 year ago

If you said bought for $6k or less that would be my entire collection except for one. Valued at $6k or less? I'll have to say Fast Draw.

    #90 1 year ago

Tommy is the best value pinball today. Runners up are DE Jurassic Park, TFTC. All great pins for around $4,000

    #91 1 year ago

Pinside already ranks pins like this on their best bang for the buck list.

    https://pinside.com/pinball/top-100/bangforbuck

You can split it out by EM, Solid State, or different eras.

    #92 1 year ago

I have a soft spot for who dunnit.

    #93 1 year ago

I'll play it safe and say Raven.

    #94 1 year ago

I think Dredd is a good machine for a good price. Has lots of modes, cool rotating planet thingy, a sniper shot, cooling towers, and good music. cant go wrong.

That Fast Draw that we all camped out on at PATZ back in 2004 (?) was the game that inspired me to get that game. One of the best "all you gotta do is..." games around. Such a fun, great game to play with friends.

    #97 1 year ago

I know this comes up over and over and over, but I feel the fun-per-dollar games are NOT the new games.

When I have pinball friends over (whether die hard IFPA players or casual players), the games we gravitate to are games like Outer Space, Fast Draw, Gorgar, Joker Poker, Paragon, Dodge City, etc., etc.

Nobody wants to watch somebody camp out on a game while they are waiting to play.

Now, if I am playing solo I might be more inclined to play modern pins with much deeper rules as I can explore the game.

But for me, the fun-per-dollar principle still holds. I do not find myself having 10x more fun (or whatever the multiplier is depending on the game) on an LE version of a modern game compared to a game from the 60's 70's and early 80's.

Well so far the only thing I've learned from this thread is that my idea of value is a lot different than most others here.
