    Farrell's!!
Ahhh, the Zoo... I enjoyed many in my youth at birthday parties, etc...

Sacramento had a Farrell's for many years. A new one opened about 6 years ago. Last year it closed and now it's a spaghetti factory.
We had several birthday parties for our boys there. I really miss it.

Popcorn, I make white lightly salted popcorn, theatre buttered popcorn, Caramel popcorn, cheese popcorn, caramel apple popcorn, kettle corn and everyone loves it. We have a couple poppers, one at home and one at the shop. I also have a kettle corn popper I picked up used

    Favorite place in the 70's.
Rock candy, huge jaw breakers, and the zoo!

I bought one of the little clip on ties off a waiter one time for 50 cents. Still have it!

So happy they are coming back, but I don't like the shape change. Oh well, I'm sure they will be awesome.

Trying to live a healthier lifestyle now that I'm getting older, but I ate a bunch of these things back in the day.

I almost got hit by a car on Little River Turnpike eating one of these Zero bars for the first time as a kid, the driver saw me throw it down in disgust and then we both nodded at each other in approval. lol True story

Loved these as a kid when we moved back to Indiana. Pizza Spins

Not sure how junk foody it is but lately I've grown fond of the Salt and Pepper Pistachios.

If I don't ration myself I can shell thru an entire bag in one sitting (bag says 3.5 servings per container, but who is counting?)

I wish for the life of me I could remember what this candy’s name was.... it was available in the mid 70s to probably the early 80s, it came in a roll ina size similar to lifesavers, the candy was pastel colored coins that were tart and fizzy in your mouth. I would save my allowance and buy the whole box at Quik Trip.

These? I think they made a larger size roll too.

That chewing gum tastes nasty.....like rubber.

    Avocado toast with honey.

What can I say O-Din, you are an inspiration.

    IMG_7480 (resized).JPGIMG_7480 (resized).JPG

Does not look as nice as yours, but tasty just the same. The honey and eggs are from here on the farm. . . have not tried growing our own avocados or baking our own bread yet.

    #118 5 years ago

Y'all got it wrong so far...

    1. OP meant to ask: What's the the best *pinball* candy? -- like for roaming at a show.

    Requirements:

    1. can't spill in your pocket (bags of loose candy are out)
    2. can't get on your hands (chocolate is mostly out)

    Conclusion:

    Spree from Willy Wonka
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spree_(candy)

I totally forgot about Wacky Wafers - loved those as a kid! I did recently find these again and bought some.

They used to be $0.10 as a kid, my wife told me they now cost us $2.69 :O

I get the 2 1/2 pound bag when they go on sale at Costco. I also load up on the Blue Diamond Almonds when they go on sale. Instant f'ing weight gain for me. I love em'.

Crazy as it sounds, grilled corn. Add some tajin, butter, salt, and pepper. It's awesome and the best laxative I could possibly imagine.

    #125 5 years ago

Loved the Choco'lite candy bar when I was a kid also the bubble gum cigarettes. (not the chalk stick ones)

Looks like "Cheez Balls" are making a comeback:

    https://fox8.com/2018/06/27/after-12-years-planters-cheez-balls-and-cheez-curls-are-coming-back/

I remember eating these out of the can as a kid. Being honest, I never noticed they were gone but that is probably because of all the aftermarket cheese balls out there. That and I stopped eating cheese in a spray or ball form a long time ago. . .

It's been awhile for this thread but it still works.

Bungles greatest snack of the 70's. Tries posting a picture but running into trouble.

    #136 3 years ago

It always was this...limited addition, hasn't been around for last couple years.
I was hoping they would bring it back.
They have something close (whoopsy mint)..just not the same

Loved the bubble gum cigars and GUM cigarettes not the hard candy ones.

ZERO cany bars are one of my favorites also.

    Snickers Ice Cream Bar.

OK not Snickers Ice Cream Bars but about 3 weeks ago I am always on the lookout when I go to Walmart and they were clearing out a lot of unsold ice cream. I got 2 quarts of Snickers Ice Cream for a $1.00 per quart.
