I just ordered a snap in service outlet to install in my Addams, which came missing the service outlet.

Described as "service outlet snap-in three prong wpc" on the Marco site.

No North American plug will plug in to this thing. What the heck did I buy?

    Quoted from ForceFlow:

Its the correct outlet, but you'll need this too:

Thanks, fack. I didn't expect to bed an adapter. Safe bet that most ppl would just cut an extension cord and wire that in to the box instead?

Wow, I've had maybe ten or so an never seen one. The outlet is always a normal plug. Maybe it's a Canada vs USA thing.

It is for sure not the norm for service outlets compared to other games/manufacturers. I think it was only used in span of wpc games. Pretty much everyone else used standard 2 or 3 prong outlets.

I'm not really familiar with the history of the IEC connector and why the standard came into use with electronic devices.

In this case, maybe it met some sort of requirement, or was a way to solve or get around a problem.

Aug. The product name has only "stern" in the title, so I assumed it fit only Stern. Where the other has "WPC" in the title, so it made sense that it fit in the WPC box.

I'll do the extension cord thing for now and order some of those next time I have a parts emergency.

I don't think that would fit correctly in the outlet opening of the WPC power box.

That’s the same outlet we use in Multimorphic games. Adapter for whatever part of the world you’re in.

Pretty much used in all WPC95 games. Not sure about WPC games but maybe a few. Have to keep one of the adapters in my toolbox whenever servicing a game that has one.

Maybe there used to be a standard cord length for soldering irons or something, and it was just a few inches too short to do flipper stuff?

I have several versions of the adapter. In working with Computer Servers it's needed to power your laptop when in a Server room with Power Distribution Units. Very common there.

You can get a short, stubby one and not the flex cord version.
