Can anyone tell me what this carriage bolt (marked with blue arrow) is for? There's only a nut on the inside with nothing attached to it.

    Thanks

It is where the coin return button rests when the door is all the way open.

To prevent the coin door from bashing against the cabinet when it's open.

I believe that is for the coin reject to hit if the coin door swings all the way open so it doesn’t hit the cabinet.

    Beat me to it LOL!

In the solid state era they moved to a thumbtack to save money! Not sure when they started but my Flash Gordon have a pretty robust one.

It keeps the snake from falling off the cabinet
