Newbie here so thank you in advance for everyone’s help .
Just got this game and starting to assess everything as it was touted at some point in its life ..

Checking boards and saw a blown capacitor on the one board in picture 1.

I tried to identify this board that is on top of or piggy backed to picture 3 which is a Fliptronics board ..

So I’m looking for info on this particular board and what it controls and possibly the circuits as I cannot seem to locate Any info in the manual ...

Thanks in advance

U15 is also blown apart on the top picture, as does U13 appears to be.

That board does not show in the manual, nor do I recall seeing it ever before. Granted it has been a few years since I worked on a couple of Dirty Harry pins.

I vote for leaving it out and see if the game works without it. Do you have a picture of it installed in the game with the cables connected?

What game is this from?

It has been a while since I have seen one but *maybe* a printer interface board.

Your right it is a printer set up chased the wires back to inside the cab and found the serial port interface board ...

I would remove it all.

That’s the plan !!

Why remove it, it is a pretty rare factory option? I know they existed but never seen one untill this.

With blown chips and a leaking cap, there's no reason to leave it in. Honestly, even if you fix those, you can't do much with it these days.

Appreciate the thought! The only thing worth a few buncks on the board would be the 8521 UART->Serial chip, and then 14411 (going from memory here) baud-rate divider chip.

ot worth paying shipping to get those, especially since I'm working on a side project to just hook up to the data lines using the parallel interface.

Yeah, it was - it was a 'kit' you could purchase fro WMS Parts to add to any WPC game. Same as the Ticket Addon kit.
