I'm just wondering what would be the top five pinball machines out there. Also if there is some specific designers who have made them. Thanks!

Holy crap! Three votes for DM now?
WTF am I doing wrong on mine? It's one of the slowest playing pins that I've ever owned. Again, great flow, but never once I have said to myself "holy cow those balls sure come flying at me". The balls can actually be a bit "floaty" at the bottom of the PF.
Anyway, my vote goes to JM for being the fastest pin that I've ever owned or played.

Better raise those rear leg levelers a bit.

That's what she said!
Sorry. Couldn't resist. It's been too long.
Many of the classic Sterns are wicked fast. My Andromeda is very unforgiving. If you glance up at your score or even think about blinking, the ball is gone.

To quote the internets, "You're doing it wrong."

Yeah cuz I have no clue how to set up a pin. DM fast? I just don't see it.
No Fear is pretty fast, and I've got mine on a pretty god incline.
Judge Dredd, if you get that upper loop cranking, is really fast too.
I played a Tron Pro, and I never got the feeling of speed. It might have been because I wasn't playing it very well or hitting the shots.
AC/DC seemed really fast. Can't wait to get mine.
F-14, for the year it came out, is amazingly speedy. Yagov cannon and the loop are wicked.
Quoted from CASTHOF:The 1987 HS by far, no ball save. Brutal.
+1 for ball/game times & how about VND with the lite (65 gram) balls can be wicked fast around the outer loops.
Quoted from The_Director:Are we talking fastest as in flow, or fastest as in game is over? Seems like IM and BSD are more short ballers, whereas HS2 and AC/DC are fast flow.
I thought we were talking about pure ball speed.
Speed and flow are not the same thing. At least not to me. But if that is how people are interpreting it, then at least I can somewhat understand why three people have mentioned DM in this thread.

Agreed. DM is a good game but it doesn't even crack my top 25 for pure speed.
