I'm just wondering what would be the top five pinball machines out there. Also if there is some specific designers who have made them. Thanks!

#2 11 years ago

I know that my bk2k Steve Ritchie pin is crazy fast.

#4 11 years ago

Yeah I've been reading about Steve Ritchie having some of the fastest machines.

#6 11 years ago

Agreed, those loops on Johnny Mnemonic are wicked fast. Probably the fastest I've played.

Jim

#7 11 years ago

F14 and TRON for sure.

#8 11 years ago

AC/DC is one of the fastest, ...when not being slowed up in the cannon.

#9 11 years ago

I just got a Johnny, easily fastest orbit shots..

#12 11 years ago

play both everyday, i'd say tron is faster than acdc by far

#14 11 years ago

Demolition Man by a wide margin.

#15 11 years ago

Great list...except for that last entry. I have no idea how that DM got in there. Great flow...but not fast.

Is today opposite day?

IM, Tron, and DM come to mind. While it may not be in the running overall for fastest pin, the inner loop around the trunk on TOM is wicked fast.

#19 11 years ago

JM overall IMO. When that ball starts whipping around the orbits I can't keep up.
But I played one Tron pro which was so freakin fast, it changed my mind from "Meh" to "Holy crap, I want one."

Johnny Mnemonic

Holy crap! Three votes for DM now?

WTF am I doing wrong on mine? It's one of the slowest playing pins that I've ever owned. Again, great flow, but never once I have said to myself "holy cow those balls sure come flying at me". The balls can actually be a bit "floaty" at the bottom of the PF.

Anyway, my vote goes to JM for being the fastest pin that I've ever owned or played.

Better raise those rear leg levelers a bit.

That's what she said!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. It's been too long.

Many of the classic Sterns are wicked fast. My Andromeda is very unforgiving. If you glance up at your score or even think about blinking, the ball is gone.

#24 11 years ago

Out of ones I've played a lot:

1) F-14
2) Ironman
3) Tron
4) BSD
5) ACDC Pro

I've never played JM or DM so I can't reference that.
I don't find HS2, Shadow, NF, or ACDC premium to be anywhere NEAR as fast as the 5 above.

MM, SM, TOM, & Indy 500 based on the ones I have played most recently.

To quote the internets, "You're doing it wrong."

Bk2k. F14. IM. For its era, firepower. Whirlwind.

Yeah cuz I have no clue how to set up a pin. DM fast? I just don't see it.

#29 11 years ago

I agree with a couple mentioned above. BK2K, JM and F14 are very fast games. I also think No Fear is a pretty fast game as well as Shadow.

Almost forgot Fish tales is fast as well.

#30 11 years ago

f14, im,nofear

#31 11 years ago

For sure that Johnny mnemonic is the fastest machine out there.
Love that game. Ik have 35 DMD pinballs but Johnny kick ass.
Only that theme.

Thats wy we transform a JM into a The Matrix.
What if i told you that The Matrix is now the fastest machine out there (-;

The 1987 HS by far, no ball save. Brutal.

#33 11 years ago

AC/DC pro
No fear
JM
F14
and on the top 5 faster: Viper night drivin (with glow ball)

#34 11 years ago

nf, tron, im

put a poll! let's see who wins!

#35 11 years ago

No Fear is pretty fast, and I've got mine on a pretty god incline.

Judge Dredd, if you get that upper loop cranking, is really fast too.

I played a Tron Pro, and I never got the feeling of speed. It might have been because I wasn't playing it very well or hitting the shots.

AC/DC seemed really fast. Can't wait to get mine.

F-14, for the year it came out, is amazingly speedy. Yagov cannon and the loop are wicked.

+1 for ball/game times & how about VND with the lite (65 gram) balls can be wicked fast around the outer loops.

#37 11 years ago

HS to date is one of my favorite spinner orbit shots of all time. It can really get going very fast.

#38 11 years ago

+1 ACDC and IM. Have no time on JM

In my collection, HS2

#39 11 years ago

JM is wicked fast. The first time my mom came over and played. She couldnt keep up. It was halarious.

#40 11 years ago

How about some classic stuff... Star Gazer (I love the spinners) and also Ali are pretty fast!

#41 11 years ago

IM, JM, Tron, F-14, ACDC Pro

#42 11 years ago
#43 11 years ago

Fish tales.

#44 11 years ago

Acdc,JM and BSD esp when setup right

#45 11 years ago

Are we talking fastest as in flow, or fastest as in game is over? Seems like IM and BSD are more short ballers, whereas HS2 and AC/DC are fast flow.

#46 11 years ago

F14 and bk2k

#47 11 years ago

F-14 especially the yagov kicker !!

I thought we were talking about pure ball speed.

Speed and flow are not the same thing. At least not to me. But if that is how people are interpreting it, then at least I can somewhat understand why three people have mentioned DM in this thread.

#49 11 years ago

FT, HS2, ACDC Pro, BK2K cant think of another right now

Agreed. DM is a good game but it doesn't even crack my top 25 for pure speed.
