It depends on how you define 'flowiest' ....

Flowiest: Highspeed

Easiest: Police Force

Rampiest/Rampfest: Demoman

Satisfingest with flow: Reaching Warp 9 on TNG

Nothing personal

I think Claude Fernandez had it first?

Ideally, Pinsiders don't reposted topics too .....

but, you can look back and see if *your* answers have changed....

It does get crazy, for sure! Gotta stick it in the Whirlpool to come up for air and regroup. I wouldn’t argue that Whitewater being the flowiest, but it does have flow.

5 years ago aint bad. I'll raise you a pair of 6s!

Of course I always refer back to the "what is flow" thread when pointing out no one can even agree on a definition.

Johnny Mnemonic and T2 for me, with honorable mention to Gottliebs Gladiators.

Nope, I just suck at WW. If you ever play me in a tournament and get game choice. Pick it, you WILL win unless you really suck or have a bad game. I enjoy that game a lot but for some reason when I go away from the up the middle all day strategy and start going for rafts I really stink it up.

Full Throttle, most balls never go less than 100mph from beginning to end.

#109 6 months ago

Have to add another for JM. Never played anything faster with shots that flow right into the next. You'll be slamming the ramps and orbits on accident trying to gain control

ahahahaha. Nope.

No-freaking-fear.

You have a good memory. Everyone thought I was Special K, that was my baptism by fire here at Pinside.

The funny part is reading it now, it's really not really that weird in anyway.

I feel like Johnny Mnemonic is a strange example of flow. Usually in pinball when you’re hitting shots, you feel in control but on JM hitting an orbit or two gives you so much speed that you have to start blasting away at ramps to try to slow the ball down a bit. When you’re comboing shots, the flow is great. However the mode starts and ball locks do take some of that flow away as you’re waiting for the glove. The return from the pops is a little awkward too. So I think it’s a game with good flow sometimes but I don’t think it’s a flow game if that makes sense.

High Speed/Getaway and ST. Ritchie basically.

No Fear has wicked flow.

Butter ramps Star Trek ! My coined phrase.

There isn't another machine that will get higher N-Way combos than JM. If you disable the glove, the game play is insane - you never get a break.
After playing most of the games mentioned in this thread for many years, I've gotta go with JM for non-stop flow AND speed.

If you want "Slow" flow (more controlled), then JM would take a back seat to some of these others (STTNG for example).
But for shear "Speed" flow - JM is it.

JM, NF and DM. Honorable mention: FT.

Would Shadow be considered to have lots of flow?

#121 6 months ago

I can see Shadow being in consideration. God I miss that game.

Quoted from Cheddar:

High speed when it has been set up as Steve Ritchie specified in him addendum to the manual

Can you explain this? I found an addendum at IPDB, but it's all corrections to technical information in the manual.

I actually cited the wrong machine. If you could replace the machine name with high speed when you read this and ignore the parts that don't make sense I would appreciate it.

Williams Winner flows well because there is absolutely nothing on the playfield to interrupt flow.

I'm going to have to say white water. If it is steep I have been able to use the right flipper to go up the ramp then hit the upper ramp, down the left side, left in lane, flipper up transfer to right flipper then repeat. That is nothing but flow and timing.

Every time I play Spiderman, I can't help but notice how incredibly smooth it is. That said, now that I think about it, Star Trek is basically Spiderman but with a loopable side ramp, so I guess that gives it an edge in terms of flow.

ST has the smoothest flow in my opinion.
