I was musing about selling my entire collection, and wondered if anyone even ever buys a full collection at once, which led me to this poll!

What is the highest number of machines you bought for yourself personally at once? Let's only count working, or near-working / light projects. But feel free to post about bulk project / wreck purchases too.

That also begs the question, what's the most someone has spent at once? It doesn't necessarily need to be for the same transaction as the most machines one.

I'll get it started. I bought 4 machines for $10,000.

It was even a pretty good score: really good STNG, near mint RBION, average DE ST, and light project WCS.

People definitely buy full collections. I have bought multiples before.

If you are looking to sell several at once, i can help steer you in the right direction.

Let's hear about it, if those guys are on pinside!

I was just musing, not really serious about it right now.

Don't forget to vote for both, #, and $ ! Not that important, but more fun...

My neighbor is a realtor and connected me with the owners of a house she was listing. I'm not a huge EM guy so me and a buddy bought out all the games in her basement except the DK arcade, Hurdy Gurdy and the Delta Queen for $300 per game. I kept the Harlem Globetrotters, King of Diamonds and Dig Dug and he took the rest. All working or just about working. I think we pulled out 12 total including the bowler. The Escalara earned its paycheck that day.

There was a warehouse full of pins about 18 months ago. I picked up 24 pins in one shot. I drove up thinking it was going to be garbage. I ended up getting a 26ft box truck that day and hauling my car behind the truck. It was a LONG 3 days loading and unloading, but fun

Twenty one games. Bought out an operator about six years ago.

I bought 16 pins, 50+ populated playfields and three large arcade games two months ago in one buy.

How long ago was that? From the Italian dude that's still exporting today?

That's a lot for just 2 people! We still import by the container in Seattle but with many buyers: most get 1 or 2 pins, a few 3 or 4. We've got a container on the way right now. It's kind of spinning the roulette wheel these days, but you're usually okay if you're very selective or somewhat handy.

Nice to have that kind of scratch. That's a second mortgage for me.

I bought about 45 EM/early SS games from an old man in Brooklyn, this is over 10 years ago. He was a long retired operator.

In hindsight we didn't even get the best deal. Probably paid on average $400 a game. Most were in very nice shape. None were parts machines. They all needed to be shopped out, all would be considered projects.

Fixed up dozens, sold, made a profit. It was a learning experience and a ton of work, likely nothing I'd be interested in doing again. He was a stubborn, stingy guy and had been trying to sell these forever. I'm convinced if we hadn't bought them he would have died owning these games in his brooklyn warehouse. Many others passed on dealing with this guy, I found out later.

The selection of games was good, lots of good titles, don't remember them all now but a number of KISS, captain fan, Meteor, Wizard, Space Invaders, Bobby Orr, C37, etc. A couple of the more beat up ones ended up as parts machines but most were fixed up and sold at a good profit. Learned a lot through the experience as well.

I wish I could find an old operator around here with that kinda deal, stubborn or not lol

Games from a single seller? Two, a few times.

During a show, but with different sellers--Six.

Done many deals over the years, to many to remember actually. The last big one was 18 games. Here's pictures from one of them.
