I'm thinking of starting a league but I don't have many pins (mostly because some of the other leagues are a bit "hard to get into". What is the minimum pins to run a league?

Why are they hard to get into? They are supposed to be open to anyone who wants to join and follow the rules.
If you mean a sanctioned IFPA league I would go to the website and research the rules.

Depending on the format and number of players, I'd say four games is the minimum, three if you're ultra-confident in their reliability. And make sure they're not long-playing games, LOTR, SM etc. Nothing worse than having a bad ball and then waiting an eternity for everyone else to get through their turn.
