Ancient Aliens Action Bronson Edition
Shindig.
Had many of the early bands on during the "British" invasion era.
Sadly, I don't believe many tapes of the shows still exist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shindig!
LTG : )
Quoted from mjs2:Means a bunch of arrows pointing to the quoted post above it “ Northern Exposure” is the GOAT.
I know what the arrows mean. What is GOAT short for?
Quoted from snyper2099:... hard to compare it to shows like MASH ...
Quoted from Leeb18509:... Actually it's probably MASH.
M*A*S*H was good until it completely turned into the Alan Alda Show in its latter seasons. Then not so much.
Quoted from Stones:Someone montioned this a long time ago, but I sure miss these guys....[quoted image]
And I miss these guys the same way. Neither shown TV anywhere I can find...a tragedy.

Greatest Of All Time
Quoted from cheshirefilms:Must nominate HBO's Carnivale. Pinside is a community of rousties and misfits anyways. Got to see it if you haven't yet.
[quoted image]
Awesome show with a great start but completely unresolved. Maybe if the Deadwood film does well they will wrap this up too?
Lots of great shows on here... but I chose the Office. You know what you do after you finish binge watching all 9 seasons???? You start over on season 1. lol
Quoted from chubtoad13:I started to watch The Sopranos last night because of this thread.
A fine choice! I watched it years ago and have had a desire to rewatch it since acquiring the game.
For me it's Seinfeld hands down.
- 76 million people tuned in for the finale
- Their neologisms became part of the lexicon. (yada yada, Mimbo, man-hands, re-gifter, double-dip, shrinkage, etc)
- It's in syndication today and is still funny/topical/relatable.
- Secondary characters we're just as great as the main characters (Newman, Uncle Leo, David Puddy, Jackie Chiles, George Steinbrenner, Mr. Petterman, Mr. Pitt, Mickey, The Costanzas/Seinfelds, Jack Klompus, Soup Nazi, etc)
To this day whenever my wife or I sneeze, the other one always says "you're sooooo good looking," lol.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:M*A*S*H was good until it completely turned into the Alan Alda Show in its latter seasons. Then not so much.
I was thinking about that and agree, but maybe more for the reasoning of how they turned Frank Burns into a looney that wasn't warranted. Any show on for 11 years isn't going to maintain perfection but I still think if you flip the dial to any single episode of MASH that happens to be on, you're going to enjoy it for one reason or another. That's tough to do.
Besides, this thread isn't even close to being about "the greatest show of all time", it's about "what's your favorite tv show(s)". Not exactly the same thing.
Not sure if it's available in the US, but Line of Duty is absolute perfection in writing, suspense, plot twists, clues from 5 series back - brilliant.

Quoted from wdennie:Battlestar Galactica!
I remember when Jane Seymore was on that series early on wearing a skin tight suit, she was hot!!!!
Quoted from Budman:Andy Griffith Show ( b/w with Don Knotts).... no question, no debate.
Agree, never the same or as near as good after he left.
Quoted from Leeb18509:Besides, this thread isn't even close to being about "the greatest show of all time", it's about "what's your favorite tv show(s)". Not exactly the same thing.
Agreed. My favorite show has nothing to do with the greatest show of all time and has not even been mentioned but once...
But, when you are considering the greatest ever thus far in history, the show does have to be timeless. I don't know if Breaking Bad is timeless. Seinfeld is very close, and I do believe that MASH is timeless.
Quoted from PinballTilt:... survivor is #1 for me
I have to agree with this. I'm a huge TV guy, and there are so many great shows to choose from, but I truly believe Survivor is the best of them all. They just finished airing Season 38, and the show is still firing on all cylinders. What's great about Survivor is that every season is completely different. You never know what you are going to get because it all depends on the cast and how they interact with each other. Some seasons are better than others, but overall I would say I've gotten more entertainment out of this show than any other bar none.
Quoted from Bohdi:Plenty of you probably aren't old enough so you've never heard of it, think it aired in the late 70's, but SOAP
Watched soap religiously back then and just watched a couple episodes the other day on "me" TV. Great show.
Darn....forgot about Soap!
I always wanted to be like Bert and snap my fingers and become invisible...…
I do enjoy Survivor also..... (best reality show imo).
From the list I'd have to say Breaking Bad. Not on the list, I'd have to add The Rockford Files, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Love Lucy and Columbo (although Columbo was not so much a "series"). I guess my age is showing...
Quoted from TheLaw:Problem with Soap is there's a massive drop off for season 4
Agreed. Was never as good without Benson too, and too much Dutch in season 4. Still enjoyed it though
Quoted from Asael:Northern Exposure!!!
Was recently released on Region B Blu-ray with all the original music intact. I had to also get an all-region DVD player but it was worth it, this show has aged really well.
Quoted from pinlink:With Game of Thrones coming to an end, I need a new show to watch. I pulled these from a couple "greatest TV shows of all time" lists, but would love your opinions as well. What is the greatest show of all time??
If you’re any fan of The Karate Kid or the 80’s, check out Cobra Kai on YouTube. It’s really good.
If the choice was ‘Simpsons seasons 3-8’ then that is the obvious answer.
Because the choice is ‘Simpsons’ it unfortunately is disqualified.
Breaking Bad was perfect start to finish. Also love Battlestar Galactica.
Quoted from Leeb18509:... Besides, this thread isn't even close to being about "the greatest show of all time", it's about "what's your favorite tv show(s)". Not exactly the same thing.
Except for my choices of course.

I watched every Survivor season up until the latest one. One of the very few shows that I'd typically watch. I used to really enjoy it and it obviously took a while for me, but I finally got to the point of "Been there. Done that." enough to go cold turkey.
Now I attend SAA (Survivor Addicts Anonymous) meetings instead and take on each day one at a time.
Quoted from nascarrey:SCTV had a very talented cast! One of the few shows I bought the series on DVD many years ago....
I always thought Joe Flaherty was so funny. I don't know why he didn't have more success after SCTV.

The ending to HBO's Carnivale. Enjoy

Let's be honest, I spend a lot of time watching HGTV, CNBC, and AWE. I can't be the only one.
Bring on Fixer Upper, bring on Property Brothers, American Green, Mad Money, CNBC Daytime, Buying Yachts, Behind the Gates, etc.
Who's with me?

John Candy was great too!

So I've been told. Oh well. No real regrets though.
Quoted from DRDAVE:Agreed on $6 Million. Loved that show as a kid. And when $7 Million man entered the picture, boy look out! Trouble a brewin!
They did a later movie with Sandra Bullock
