I always liked the shot on bride of pinbot
I like the super skill shot on Congo, especially during skill fire mode when you hit a bunch in a row.
the secret hideout on Rudy is pretty cool. you almost have to find it by accident, but it's worth up to a million per ball (even launches after locking balls).
Bally Medusa Skill Shot is unique and a true exercise of skill.
I have yet to light every gorgon, but I have lit 4.
The Medusa Skill Shot requires that the ball roll over a star rollover while the shot light is green. All rollovers that are successfully completed light one gorgon and add 500 points to the middle spinner.
One aspect that separates this skill shot from others is that you only have one chance at the shot. The star rollovers are in the shooter lane, and once you touch a star rollover, your shot has been registered.
Very challenging and very fun.

FGY super skill shot is tough as nails. You need both plunger skills and flipper skills. Can't hit a FART target. Can't hit the death target. And you gotta use the upper flipper to get it in the monkey hole. Love it when I pull it off, but that darned death target gets in the way so much!
Quoted from TZBen:WHO dunnit? has the best skill shot in pinball
Except when a person misses short, drains to the left outlane, gets a ball saved, and tries again. IMO any skill shot should only be possible to attempt once per ball.

Agreed, and preferably if you plunge short the ball should be pushed into play on the way back down like on TAF or auto plunged hard to prevent what happens on Whitewater.
Quoted from The_Director:Not that I think it's the coolest, but Road Show's skill shot is pretty tough. It's a very precise pull, just like TZ and WW.
Dunno. I can hit it 75% of the time and I don't own the game. Tron's skillshot, while mostly the same, is a lot harder.
The original '72 Fireball.
Banzai Run has a devil of a skill shot.
Old Bally games that require a bounce on the arch to activate the big points.
Cyclone is righteous with the plunger.
Pinball Magic Loop/drop skill shot is always fun.
The AFM/MM hold the left flipper and make the shot at speed are very well implemented with a nice touch of risk/reward.
I also like games like Lotr that give you different options that you have to execute with.
There's more than that, but I'm keepin this one short.
Medieval Madness super kill shot is great. Requires lots of skill to hit consistently. If you land it you start a 1million hurry-up so the super skill shot keeps going after you've made it. Because you can stack and overlap the hurry-ups on MM you can make tons of points off of the super skill shot. Also the tenth hurry-up lights extra ball (as well as the 40th but good luck with that).
and if you are really skillful, the mini-orbit on the other side of the PF for a cool 10 million! 13 million points is a great way to start a ball on PotC!
PoTC Super-skill is my favorite shot in all of pinball. I've hit it about 7 times on my friends PoTC. I go for it every time, and there isn't a single shot on any machine I've ever played that gets me amped up even close to the way that one does. There's no reason not to. Generally you can take that shot, fail, let it drain and then just go up top anyway. I think he actually took the gate out in pin-golf tournaments because a single super-skill would score you a hole-in-one.

Didn't know that! But seems like a pipe dream to me.
Quoted from MiamiRedSkin:I like TOTAN's as well!
That skill shot got on my nerves after a while.
Quoted from Rensh:WOF is very tough
When my friend owned a WOF, I only managed to get the skill shot 2-3x.
Quoted from DanQverymuch:Best plungerless one might be BSD, requires good timing.
Have to disagree here While bsd is my favourite, the skill shot doesn't require skill at all and half the time you don't even bother with it because the score is so low.
Volcano's skill shot is very cool. It has a motorized shooter lane deflector aiming at sequentially lit drop targets across the playfield. There is also a right-side button that freezes the shooter lane position and currently lit target for a moment.
Find me a better skill shot than the one in Whirlwind.
1) I cannot reproduce the skill shot with consistency
2) If I take the skill shot, I am adding considerable RISK, which adds to the excitement
3) It feels good to actually nail the skill shot, like making a tough shot in billiards
What other title meets all THREE of those criteria?
Cyclone? no.
High Speed? no.
Taxi? no.

It also spots a coffin ramp and a video loop, making the rewards for the skill shot more than just a few million points. I like free stuff

Another reason why Whirlwind might be the best pinball game ever made....
