I just sold a Top Card... odd game, 4 slingshots, 3 pop bumpers, and like 13 standup targets....star rollover special in the middle of the pops lol.

Jack's open, Royal Flush or King of diamonds.

I like top card too.

Basically the most targets and flippers wins for me in this era.

Joker Poker then Royal Flush !

No love for "Dealer's Choice"?

I like Royal Flush. Very straightforward game and the 3000 shot after knocking all the targets down is supremely satisfying.

+1 on Jacks Open.

So many good card games, comes down to personal taste!

Joker Poker is excellent, but finding and EM version will be very difficult and expensive, (the SS actually plays better anyway!!)

Gottlieb is generally considered the king of card games, and I won't argue with that, but Williams did make some good ones too, especially the 1968 Lady Luck.

For the Gottliebs, pre 1970, you have Kings and Queens, Diamond Jack(AAB), and King of Diamonds, all excellent. Post 1970, Drop A Card/Pop a Card, Jacks Open/Lucky Hand, or Card Whiz/Royal Flush would be the best choices depending on whether you want multi or single player

King of Diamonds. I played the remake by retropinball...it was sweet!!

I am actually getting ready to restore a really beat up 68 lady luck. I have to finish F-14, then I'll get started. This should be a fun one too, someone has painted the cab black.

Joker Poker, Jacks Open

Kings and queens, queen of diamonds, there are a lot of them but the better ones usually come with a price.

There are a lot of them, I like Card Whiz and would go for this one.

High Hand. It has 16 drop targets....lots to shoot at

Or Capt Card, the sister machine to High Hand

Wms 1960 '21' is supposed to be a hard game to play

I should have a really nice Top Card (Gottlieb) for sale in Southern Wisconsin in about 4-5 weeks. Gottlieb had a lot of great card themed pins.

#21 11 years ago

Is that King of Diamonds remake still available? What's it going for?

#22 11 years ago

I will go with Royal Flush

#23 11 years ago

Hearts and Spades and Flip a Card are great pins.

#24 11 years ago

Thanks everyone for all the input.

Joker Poker is my favorite but I haven't played many others. The EM version is rare though.

#26 11 years ago

Hands down - Jacks Open - love that game!

#28 11 years ago

Gottlieb Hearts and Spades or the sister game Spin A Card. Both are a ton of fun!

#29 11 years ago

I'm partial to Drop A Card, Flip A Card & Jacks Open and their add a ball sisters .

#30 11 years ago

From the 60's: Kings and Queens and King of Diamonds
From the 70's: Jacks Open, Royal Flush, Drop a Card

Can't really go wrong with any of them.........

In order of cost from cheapest to most expensive: DaC & RF (close), KoD & JO (close), K&Q

$3800 on retropinball.com

I'm going to add another vote for Joker Poker. The SS version does have chimes for that EM feel. Great game.

Not an EM but another card-themed pin that I think is under-appreciated is Stern Hot Hand. The 'bips' and 'boops' sounds aren't exciting but the gameplay is surprisingly challenging and strategic. The giant flipper is a novelty but it does add luck and timing to the mix.

Not an EM, but a SS simulation of.

But here's a video of the game:
