honestly the way Stern handled Q3/Q4 of 2022, I am not sure there's much point in trying to keep anything more than "these are the games we will make again... eventually"
They're being quite... agile... with when things actually make it to the line
So based on history - if they announce the new cornerstone at Texas Pinball in March, when would the first ones be rolling off the line for delivery?
Quoted from dboeren:So based on history - if they announce the new cornerstone at Texas Pinball in March, when would the first ones be rolling off the line for delivery?
October.
With the calling of the last of all three home pins, Stern has really cut out alot in the past few months. Think anything else is gonna get last called coming up ?

The price of the home pins don’t make alot of sense, I’m not surprised they are phasing out. They are just too expensive to capture a different market - the family Christmas gift type situation for casual game rooms. I’d think most people willing to spend the kind of money on a home pin end up going with the pro instead.

Dunno, with the price increase on all the newer sterns coming out, the value of the Home Pin seems to be increasing frankly. The prices are getting ridiculous
Quoted from TheClownpuncher:October.
I'm currently looking for my NEXT pin, not the one after that, so I guess the Stern announcement in March may not be immediately relevant after all.

I think there is still a place or them. With Pros at $6900 and Home Pins at $4500 there is still enough of a price difference that the home pin make more sense for that casual home consumer. There is some Pinside stigma against them, but they are fun games that do great in a home.

as of right now, home pins are not being phased out, just that the current ones are, others are in the works
Quoted from Tilt:as of right now, home pins are not being phased out, just that the current ones are, others are in the works
Of course. Why should Stern worry about filling orders for the games they have when they could be creating more (cheaper) variants to clog up the line?
Quoted from Tilt:as of right now, home pins are not being phased out, just that the current ones are, others are in the works
Not surprising. I'm not a customer but I know $5k is a pretty steep wall. Sort of a psychological barrier or cut off point. Coming in under $5k checks the box for a lot of people I suspect.

Kinda like coming in under $10k I guess.

Still have my JDJP that I got from you, close to 3k plays and no issues.
If anyone cares, the Pinball gods have smiled upon me in order to prevent a potential public brawl with the distributor who had been sitting on my unrefundable Rush Premium $1000 deposit since January, for they were supplied with a few more out of the blue last week, and I was able to quickly come up with the remainder and avoid an additional wait of indeterminate duration as well as the 2023 price increase issue. And it's coming before Xmas! Ho ho ho!
Here’s the update from the latest TPS podcast from ZMeny. Thanks, Zach and he promised more updates to the rest of 2023 in his next podcast.

What's FF?
Quoted from Vino:Congrats! Next time encourage you to find a new distributor…
Oh, I shall.
Quoted from TheClownpuncher:Name this shameless distributor!
I don't think that's necessary. Their terms are their terms, my bad for missing the "nonrefundable" verbiage, I was just blowing off steam and to their credit they include free shipping. I just fell victim to the FOMO and as one can have only one absolute favorite band, and then it happens to have a new pinball themed after them, this was a one--time thing. I have survived the unanticipated year-long wait and soon it will be all in the past!
Hopefully if it had come down to they couldn't fill the order eventually, they would have refunded the deposit after all.
At least some Bond Premiums were built after the LEs finished up. The one I ordered is being picked up at Stern today.

yep, premiums started shipping today, i have a load getting picked up
Quoted from JustEverett:Received confirmation from my distro I’ll be on the next run of GZ (prem) in Feb
Wonder what the new price point will be?
Quoted from WeirPinball:Wonder what the new price point will be?
Mine went up $600.00
Quoted from Paseb:anyone played Elvira?
how do you compare to GZ ?
id be interrested in getting a 2nd pin but would like to have something that feels different from GZ which i really like.
im not a music fan. so no rush, maiden etc ,etc
Deadpool or Elvira are good options for you
Quoted from Tilt:as of right now, home pins are not being phased out, just that the current ones are, others are in the works
Man if they just bump up monitor size just a tad next go around. Wishful thinking. Lol
Anyone know if there will be more runs of DP? I noticed some distros seem to be taking pre orders. But it’s not on the schedules reported here. Thanks for any info.

I own both and they compliment each other very well. While GZ is a moderate skill pin, Elvira is easier with a fan layout and theme integration off the charts. While I have gotten to the wizard mode many times I still have not sold the house which is much harder to do. Lyman nailed it again with his code and it is sad that this was his last fully coded game. If you enjoy AFM, MM, or MB you can’t go wrong with Elvira HoH.

Someone showed a prospective 2023 calendar a short time ago that showed DP being ran in December 2023, lol. A year from now. I hope that's incorrect, and they squeeze some in sooner.
Quoted from WeirPinball:Wonder what the new price point will be?
Up $600. Really sucks that stern isn't honoring the price that was quoted when the deposit was made. I ended up cancelling my JP prem deposit because I don't see any runs coming up soon for that game and there are so many below the new 9.6K mark on the second hand market. I bet the newest price bump, combined with a slowing economy and less liquidity in the market will really drop stern's backlog over the next year. The good news is that will mean a lot of people who have been waiting will get their games.

I really like Elvira, it’s a very smooth layout and quite different from Godzilla. I’ve thought about buying one but they’re a bit pricy and I’m only so-so on the theme. Not that I don’t like Elvira, but I prefer Scared Stiff for being a little more edgy. Try to find one to play if you can, I think you’ll like it.

Don't forget Lyman's code, pretty amazing.

It’s not Stern you place a deposit with, it’s your distributor. The final cost you pay is between you and your distributor. Unless your distributor advertises a price lock on deposit as part of a purchase agreement, I wouldn’t expect one.

I was told I was locked in, but stern is sticking distros with the price increase. Distros end up stuck in the middle.

Again that’s on the distro making a promise they didn’t keep. They know their price from Stern isn’t fixed - but based on when the game is produced. They are just shifting blame to cover their over commitment to you.

And I refunded a deposit on a game because of the change with no issue. Again, not the distros fault stern keeps them in the dark and expects them or the customer to eat the price change.

True...if distro is quoting you a price they should honor it. However, it would be wise for distro to explain and have it on their estimate that prices are subject to change due to manufacturers terms...or something like that. I have learned to never quote a definitive price when I sell TV's since the prices change all the time going up and down. This way everyone is informed. Communication is key.
Quoted from JustEverett:And I refunded a deposit on a game because of the change with no issue. Again, not the distros fault stern keeps them in the dark and expects them or the customer to eat the price change.
It is for making promises they can’t keep. You know the prices are subject to change, so don’t make promises to the contrary. Managing expectations - not over promising and under delivering.
