For a game with simple rules, a basic playfield layout and a limited number of shots, this one intimidates many people. Probably because it appears so little is there, yet can hand you your ass in a 2 minute game. This title tends to embarrass some folks and they'll move on.

Dive in and you'll find three multiball modes stackable in any combination that can be started during multiball, end of ball bonus that carries over (rats and bats can be huge), well integrated creepy theme, a plethora of quotes. Having the played thousands of games, have never heard, "Would you care for an hors d'oeuvres, Dr. Seward"? Of course it also has the "world famous mist multiball", but I always appreciated that mist mb is automatically lit on ball 3 if not previously qualified. That gives everybody have a chance to try out the main toy. Shooting werewolves video never grows old either. BSD creates that one more game feel.

A good game for me is longer than 20 minutes and scores over 1 billion. If I play ten games, at least one will exceed this level, and it is not uncommon to see 3 to 5 billion. Compare that to someone one with a 2 min game and under 100 million, and earning a potentially huge score is motivational.

Lightning flippers are also a special feature about BSD. While you know they are shorter and that it will make things tougher, I see similar scores, regardless of whether std or lightning flippers are installed (as long as the flipper strength is strong), and have heard others say the same. Human nature is if you step up to a game with lightning flippers pointed out and you have a poor game, you'll swear the game is rigged.

I laugh when people play mine and find the werewolves set to Extra Hard. They are usually expecting the slow first wave and they get the fastest wolves right from the start. I find it keeps it interesting.

Of all of the games in my collection, I've had BSD the longest.

It will probably be one the lest to leave.

Might have to recreate my old topper. Enjoyed it for awhile and my wife often complained it was too intense and a bit misogynistic. Later sold it, but it has been on my mind recently.

WOW. I agree with your wife on this one

At least the game looks sweet with alternate cab art and powdercoated metal. Not shown - recently added coffin mod.

That is a little intense, people could just a stone gargoyle, as looks great on mine.
Still scares people though with the "following eyes".

Only bad thing about the game is that the scores roll over at 10 bill....

I love the game. I'm not sure why. Art, I'm a horror nut. A solid game.
Why is it so good? Hard? Looks nice?
Why do I like it? Why do you like it?

When he yells out 30 million !!

On a negative note... Don't care for losing your rats and bats bonus if you tilt

I have had mine for about 4 months and it is now my favorite in my 5 pin collection (just passed White Water). It is just so fun. I find the call outs hysterical - I know it is supposed to be 'dark', but I get the sense the game designers did everything with a big grin on their faces. I think one tip off to this (obviously) is the Fluffy the Vampire bonus. Just hilarious.

When I can get the 3 multi balls going and can get both the Castle jackpot (SCREAMING WOMAN!) and the Coffin Jackpot (SCREAMING DEAD DRACULA!) it is just such a rush. And I am usually cackling with delight just like Drac.

The thing about pinball is that each machine is unique. BSD is particularly unique with Mist and stacking multiballs, hell I can't think of any machine that is similar. I find comparisons between it and other machines silly because it is just that- different.
Its fun, the callouts are great, the art is intentionally dark, and there is the fluffy bonus!
Thats what it is about BSD- its really one of a kind if you ask me

Had my best game yet last night. Killed Dracula for the first time, got at least one castle jackpot, and a bunch OF THIRRTYYY MILLION!". Was exhilarating. BSD is so awesome when you get it rocking. My favorite game right now.

Dude, I think your game is haunted. There's a ghost of a dude in a white t-shirt to the right of your score.

He has crossed oceans of time to find you.
