Quoted from Tsskinne:

Harlem globetrotters in southern Michigan near three rivers. $500. Players condition. Touch ups on playfield. Backglass really nice. Just picked up off craigslist barn find moving it along at no profit just need my money for something else. Boards look clean. Plastics good. Cabinet has fade. No idea on playing condition. Text if any questions. Only at the lake house this weekend then goes back to Indiana with me. 574-596-2668 -Tommy

Nice games.
But can we keep this thread to just Michigan games for sale? I think that was kind of the whole point

I see your point, and in no way want to throw off this thread, but in reality.... Windsor is literally less than 5 miles.

He has a reason to list here.

If anyone is willing to travel into Toronto area, I have a HUO Wheel of Fortune I would part with.

Have a few titles on my wishlist if you have trades too.

Anyone have a High Roller Casino and isn't too far from the Canadian border? It's a 4 hour trip to get to Michigan, but if you arent too far I may consider for the right deal.

Quoted from silver_spinner:

some of us keep our "route" games nicer than home owners games and operating way better. the term "routed" game is just as bad as "HUO". both terms aren't 100% accurate anymore.

Quoted from Whysnow:

putting it on route may actually save it and a possibility it will be better maintained on route than in a home collection.
I can assure you route it will get more plays/enjoyment than in a home and definately introduce more people to the game than a home environment.

Looking for help from Michigan locals.

I have heard that there is someone who recreates back glasses and sells them at PATZ. If anyone has the info on who this mystery person/business is, it would be greatly appreciated if contact info could be provided to me. Im looking for a couple glasses and may be able to pick up at the show, or otherwise.

Looking for Harlem Globetrotters and Surf Champ (in case anyone here knows of any)

#2727 8 years ago

Was hoping to find the specific person from the PATZ show.

I know of bgresto, and they are on my backup list if I cannot find stuff for the show.

Just chiming in to say I drove out to Michigan today to met bribo13 and picked up his bally spinner.

What great guy, awesome talker and I'm happy with the machine. (Even though it's currently sitting my car until I drive home)

Hopefully hopping over to Marvin's marvelous mechanical museum shortly. Glad to be here amongst y'all.

I'm looking for......well something. Sold a game and need to do something with the cash before my wife makes me do something responsible.
TWD Pro maybe
Would love to find a really nice Centaur
TSPP
Family Guy (But I do think those are overpriced)
Tron Pro (Ditto on the price)
Avatar maybe
Other possibilities

I know you posted centaur, but what about other early ss games? Some are just plain fun. Even if the main trick is "rip the spinner"

Sir Brian of Ortonville

From the bally ss era I have a fully restored, clear coated and led'd strikes and spares. As well as a player's condition Harlem globetrotters.

S&S is perfect through and through.

HG has had the playfield professionally touched up, and cabinet hand painted (looks great until up close). Back glass is bubbling, but save able. Could use a shop. Plays 100%, but can use a couple score displays and light bulbs. I just haven't had the time to give it love.

Pics here: http://imgur.com/a/pLr5J

Not officially for sale. Happy to talk via PM, as you never know what may catch my fancy.

#3381 7 years ago
Quoted from Bribo13:

?? for the Michigan group.
Since when is a players condition, fully working Black Hole a $1500 - $1900 game ? ( Michigan Pricing )
I am an Em collector and seldom venture into the SS word . As recent as 8-10 months ago I recall seeing Black Hole pins for $800-$1200
Now they are on the market for an Ask of $1500 - $1900 for a fully working players condition machine.
My question is this. are the ss pins and early gotts appreciating this rapidly or is the asking price for this and other early SS bally / gottlieb's just wishful thinking by the sellers and the actual sale price is most likely much lower than the ask ?
TYIA
Sir Brian of Ortonville

Not sure about Michigan, but the market has exploded here. Anything is gobbled up at first glance, many times sight unseen. Due to this, everyone and there uncle are jumping on the kijiji train. (Kijiji is basically craiglist up here)

Michigan and nearby pinheads! While it's in the 70s and 80s here in Scottsdale, I will be making another one of my ill-advised (haha) drives across country this week. I have a Medieval Madness Remake Gold LE with added gold hinges and color dmd upgrade, Metallica LE #373, and a perfectly working, very low-play Twilight Zone. They aren't cheap, but they are GORGEOUS (the TZ looks like it just came out of the box), and I can bring one or all to your door. That's right, I will leave the pin on your front porch... Prefer HUO within 250 miles of Detroit.

If borders were open, you could come get one here (buddy is selling). Game is almost new, he bought it in a while and hardly played it. (He's not on pinside)

You can ship it I'd the border remains an issue.

I have a lot of references if you need, some of whom are in michigan that may couch for me.

Just a matter of figuring out how to get it to you. (There are ways)

3 months later
#6776 3 years ago

It was the first year missing the vfw show. Wasn't allowed to get to the mini shows sure to border closure.

#6778 3 years ago
Quoted from cfh:

We are shooting for a VFW show at the end of September. but a lot has to do with how the virus does over the next 6 months. it's too hard to predict, so i don't want to go through what we did last year again (and frankly people that had paid for reservations don't want that either.) It was a crap load of work (i mean more than a regular one weekend show.) But tentatively the dates are October 2/3, 2021 (also have to look at the Michigan football schedule too, so can't make the date firm just yet... we don't want to be the same weekend as a football game.)

Hey clay, I'm sure the logistics can be a nightmare, but if things do go well and Canadians can make the trip across the bridge, hopefully it isn't too late in the season. Once the snow flies, the rural highways between Toronto and detroit become treacherous.

I know it's not completely in your control, just a thought regarding any show date that pushes closer to winter months.

This may be a interesting read to you. You will have to judge for yourself. Any freight co can damage..it's all about how they handle it that can matter. I do love the idea of a crate.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/freight-companies-trashing-pins

Crates don't really offer much protection. If a game falls over or a forklift hits it, the crate won't stop any thing more than a bang or scrape.

If the game is wrapped well and properly protected, the time and effort (and cost) of crating really isn't worth it at all.
